FLU
in the first season it explained that because Yuji Itadori is the vessel of Ryomen Sukuna and has to keep him at bay at all times within him, he has learned to understand his own soul, which, in return, has allowed him to hurt Mahito. And Nobara's resonance directly attacks the soul. Todo's little moment with the One for All type animation is his imagination to hype himself up lmao. also, a cool thing, the 120% shot is a colored version of the manga panel.

Todo went plus ultra on Mahito Also yeah yuji can hurt mahito because he houses sukunas soul, they talked about it in season 1
