Development report #17
🕑 Added 2024-11-13 21:26:24 +0000 UTCGreetings breeders!
Last devlog before the big release!
I wanted to update sooner but I've been working nonstop to deliver the game. Release date will be this next Sunday 17 of November.
Let's go over some previews!
Doing the new tree system has been a huge time sink. I've barely had time for anything else. I got delayed on the new units and on the card game. Thankfully I had the skins done already so no impact there (except a bug for Alyssa and Milia skins that I will solve before release)
There are a LOT of new scenes. I haven't counted them, but more than 30+

Also some skins preview:
And finally some of the new enemies:
Still finishing coding them as I'm still ultimating the scenes/dialogue trees (I'm so burnt down). There was supposed to be a new race but since I won't have time to introduce it properly it will be for the next release. It's how the story on this planet ties in with some of the experiments you've discovered on this planet. After this release I'll set the milestones for the December release. Also, I'm not sure if I will have time, but I would love to do some Xmas skins for each character. It's probably not realistic so maybe I'll just end up making for one or two characters since skins are really time consuming to do.
That is all, see you guys Sunday!

Eschew Shame
The dates and skins are looking fantastic so far. Congratulations! A really impressive update. Don't burn yourself out too badly, now! This is a marathon, not a sprint. :) I find myself suspecting that the battles might be slightly unbalanced in this new release, but if so, that's okay -- you can always do a balance pass in subsequent releases. And, even if progression through the missions becomes difficult, that will be useful as well, because it will help you identify just how difficult (or not) you would like the battles to be. Or: if the battles are too tough, you will have identified one asymptote; if the battles are too easy, you will have identified another asymptote. Either way, you can balance accordingly. Good luck! I'm going to see if I can hold my breath until the 17th. :P
