FYI, I tried that U.S. Krylon Spray Putty this weekend...it's more of a texture than a filler. The Rustoleum automotive filler/primer does a better job of filling in gaps.

Nice recommendation, and thanks for the alternative, Tim. I'm in the US and can't find Michael's one anywhere after seeing this post. But your link I'm pretty sure is available at Home Depot and Lowes. Has anyone else tried either of these? In concept, I'm definitely looking for something that goes even further than the filler primer, so I'm excited to try this out.

Not sure, I have tried a couple of types called ‘spray putty’ rather than filler prime and they all have equally positive effects. Worth looking on eBay or Amazon in the US to see if spray putty is a thing.
Any idea if there are US suppliers?
