My Little Ventrue Pt.9 Ch.7 (Ch. 142)
🕑 Added 2022-05-26 20:58:09 +0000 UTCOof, delays delays. No major IRL reason, just that these chapters are getting difficult to write, due to all the backtracking I need to do to make sure plot points line up.
Expect future chapters to come anywhere in 10-15 day intervals, instead of every 10 days. But that's why I charge per chapter instead of per month.

For the series, I start with a few general key plot points already planned, the big ones that act as my beacon (Frodo takes the ring to the Mount Doom, becomes more and more corrupted along the way, Sam becomes his foundation, Merry and Pippin get split up and help the two different human factions, etc). When I start a new Part, I map out primary story beats for that part (the fights, the arguments, the major events details, whatever pushes the story toward the beacon). When I sit down to write an actual chapter, I pick out a few of those Part-level plot points, flesh them out a little, but not too much, and start writing them. That way there's still some room for me to bend as I write, and it keeps the writing process from getting too stale.

Do you usually plot everything before you write each scene? Or just pantsing along as you write and the characters and story reveal themselves as they go? How much plotting do you usually do in advance? Curious to know your writing style

Thanks for the chapter. Much prefer to have a delay and keep up the high quality, than to push out something you're not fully happy with just to have something out every 10 days.
