2 Moving Out
🕑 Added 2024-07-06 21:30:51 +0000 UTC"Kyo! Can you go fetch your brother please!"
Kyoka Jiro looks up from her phone where she had been browsing a music forum, reading about a concert happening in a few days, to look at her mother. She takes a moment to register her mum's words before letting out a groan.
"Hai~," she mutters as she gets to her feet and starts walking for the stairs.
Her lazy brother is probably sleeping in again, otherwise he should have heard that breakfast was ready.
Getting to his room, she doesn't bother to knock, choosing instead to slam the door open in the hopes of startling him awake.
"Kyo! Wake up!" She yells at him, only for her voice to die in her throat when she actually takes in his room.
The room is almost completely dark, the only light streaming in from the now open door and a slight crack in his window's blinds letting in a thin ray of sunlight.
The room is pretty spartan, at least compared to her own. There is a drum set in one corner with a couple of different guitar types near it. On one side of the room are two large wardrobes that she knows to be full of needlessly expensive clothes, shoes and watches for some reason. Seriously, who needs fifty different watches?
At another wall is a desk with a really nice computer setup with multiple monitors next to a display of a knife collection, but she's seen all of that so many times that she doesn't even spare them a glance this time.
Instead, all she can focus on is the sight of her brother, Kyoraku, lying on his bed fully clothed and simply staring blankly at the ceiling, his hands folded over his stomach, not even seeming to notice her abrupt entrance.
Kyoka feels her face morph into a sad frown as her shoulders slump. Slowly, she walks up to him and simply climbs onto the bed and cuddles up next to him, wrapping him in a soft hug that finally get's his attention.
Placid, unfocused onyx eyes meet her own matching orbs as her brother turns only enough to regard her, his messy purple hair splayed out over his face.
"Did it happen again?" She softly asks despite already knowing the answer.
Her merely hmms in response, making her snuggle closer to him, hoping to offer what comfort she can to bring him back to his body.
It happens sometimes. Her big brother's Quirk is too strong. She herself sometimes struggles with everything being too loud, but at least for her the soundproofing in their rooms actually works.
But she knows her big brother better than anyone. With his Quirk he can't not hear everything. So sometimes he can't get to sleep. Sometimes he looses himself to the noise, his sense of self expanding beyond his body, thinning him out, so to speak.
She wishes there was something she could do to help him, but there isn't. The best she can do is try her best to ground him.

Blinking my eyes, I feel a warmth on my side and turn to see my sister's face, resting with her eyes closed just inches away from my own, her arms draped over my torso.
How long has she been here?
As the last dregs of my consciousness return to my body I realise that I mist have drifted off again and missed another night of sleep. It's a good thing I don't have a job or anything so I can just sleep through the day, else the bags under my eyes would become seriously exaggerated.
Letting out a sigh, I reach a hand up and pat Kyoka on the shoulder twice.
Her eyes open and lock with my own for a moment in silence before she speaks; "are you okay?"
"I'm fine Kyo," I answer, "now get off my bed before Pa eats all the bacon, I can hear him shovelling his face full."
Predictably, her eyes snap open and she jumps off my bed as if it were on fire, quickly rushing off downstairs.
"Dammit Dad! Why do you always do this!" I hear her yell out as she thumps down the stairs, a small smile on my face as I get out of bed and stretch my back, briefly admiring my toned form in a full body mirror wearing stupidly expensive purple silk pyjamas.
The bottoms are a deep, royal purple while the top is lighter but not quite pink shade. They're also both waaay more expensive than I told my family. I enjoy living in luxury, so sue me. Not like I wouldn't be able to run you into poverty by just forcing the court proceedings to take forever and accomplish nothing.
"If I don't eat the bacon quickly then you two always take it all!" I hear my father shout back as I follow my sister down the stairs at a much more sedate pace.
It's kind of ironic that there's so much shouting in a household full of sound dampening walls and sound sensitive Quirks. You'd think we'd all whisper all the time, since none of us would have problems hearing. But all the shouting is actually good practice so we don't flinch all the time whenever we go out.
Or at least that's the case for the other three. My own power doesn't really have anything to do with my ears, it's more like the sound goes directly into my brain. It's why soundproofing doesn't work for me. You're either in my range or you're not.
Besides, even if that was a problem, I could just dampen any shout down to a whisper before I hear it.
Stifling a yawn, I do my best to ignore my family as I stack my plate with some rice, fried eggs, tofu and bacon, using my Quirk to disorient my father enough that he falls off his chair when he tries to stop me from reaching for said bacon.
Finally, I grab a couple slices of toast and accept the small bowl of udon soup from my mother.
Digging into the lovely breakfast, I once more bask in the delicious taste of my mother's cooking.
"This is as amazing as always Ma, thank you for the food," I say, making liberal use of my power to talk without having to stop eating.
"Thank you as always Kyo! I'm glad you like it."
Pleasantries out of the way, I do my best to tune out my family as I enjoy my food and focus elsewhere.
A few streets down I own a house that for all intents and purposes is just another two story family home. It even has a family living in it. But the Kaminaris also technically work for me, however indirectly.
It's not like I expect much of them, and I am an incredibly generous employer. The deal is pretty simple; they get to live in a nice house without worrying about rent, and in exchange they will ignore that the basement has been sealed up with concrete and keep quiet about the renting situation.
Plus I naturally give a little bonus incentive for them to keep up the ruse, especially since their Quirks are suited for my needs. Specifically, the mother. Her Quirk allows her to absorb electricity to 'recharge' herself. Combine that with her supposed 'job' that 'requires' a bunch of electronics and the city suddenly has no more reason to question the obscene electricity bills coming from the building.
In reality, that's all coming from the fifty or so radios and laptops hooked up in the basement with a bunch of coolers to stop them from overheating. After all, they're all running 24/7, the room would get pretty sweltering without any upkeep. Makes it handy that Mr Kaminari's Quirk lets him project 'coolness' around him. Not enough to make ice or anything, but enough to cool down a basement through the floor.
As for why I bothered to set all this up? Well, part of it is admittedly that I enjoy having invisible power over people. Not to the level of a megalomaniac or anything, it's just a hobby. But the main reason is that it means I can keep myself updated on every news station plus extra without fail all from the comfort of my home.
To anyone else the room would just be a cacophony of noise, but distinguishing separate sources of sound is child's play for me.
Unfortunately, the news isn't saying much. I'm not surprised that there's nothing about my little robbery. It's not like the rich and powerful are fond of negative publicity like this.
Not like that will matter for long, since my plan was a two step one. It'll be 'leaked' soon that Mr Kiyoshi is down a significant portion of his wealth, and then his company's stocks are sure to plummet. Manipulating stocks is always an easy way to turn a lot of money into a fuck tonne of money.
Not that I'm really all that great at all that stuff, but that's what you hire the Swiss for anyway.
"Are you sure you don't want to stay for a little bit longer, Kyo?" My mother's voice brings me out of my thoughts and I turn my attention back to the table now that I'm the centre of attention.
Swallowing the food in my mouth, I tilt my head side to side for a moment in contemplation. "Nah, I'm getting the key today anyway."
"But UA's entrance exams are starting up in a few days Kyo!" My Father exclaims, his face morphing like he's trying to hold back tears, "don't you want to be here to see Kyo off?!"
Kyoka gives our father an impressive deadpan look as she chews her bacon. "I'm not going to war, Dad," she says after swallowing, "it's just high school."
"It's not just high school! It's UA!! My daughter's going to be a Hero!!!"
"That's only if I pass the entrance exam," Kyoka answers, tone slightly hesitant and shy. I'm sure most people wouldn't recognise the uncertainty in her voice, years of increasing wealth has done a good job of bolstering her self-confidence, but I am her big brother damn it!
I know my little sis better than anyone, and even if she is an idiot sister, I'm not going to let her doubt herself. It would be unbecoming. After all, her life is more valuable than everyone else in the country combined, so she shouldn't act as if any of them are above her.
"You'll be up against a bunch of doe-eyed kids Kyo, you'll pass," and even if you don't, your big brother will make sure you pass anyway, "and for the record," I continue, turning to my father, "I want to move out now because the exams are starting soon."
I take a sip from my water before continuing. "It's going to take a couple days for me to get settled into the new place and I want to get it all sorted out before her exam. 'Sides, it's not like I can't just come back and hang here whenever, right?"
"Of course you can visit whenever you want Kyo!" My mother happily claps her hands together, a sparkle in her eyes and a warm smile that I can't help but reciprocate.
"It's not like you have to be here just to see me off anyway," Kyoka interrupts with a roll of her eyes, but my Big Brother Senses can see through her pretend irreverence, "I already said, it's not like I'm going to war, you don't have to be here to see me off or anything."
"Yeah yeah. Well, it's not like I'd go out of my way if I had anything better to do," I lie, "but I might as well, if only so Pa doesn't bother me."
"Hey! I am your father! Not just a bother!" My father yells out fruitlessly as I put him on mute so that he can't distract my adorable sister from failing to hide a faint blush.
Conversation continued to flow smoothly as we finished our breakfasts while talking about our plans for the day. As school is out right now, Kyoka is going to go and hang out with some friends later, Dad however has work while our mother is going to do some chores and then go shopping with some friends also.
I decided to excuse myself first thing after breakfast so I can check out my new home. I'll admit to being somewhat excited about it. Though, if it's disappointing then I might just kill someone. For that many zeroes, my new home better be everything I expect it to be.
Plus, I have some business to attend to later anyway.
...
One might wonder, how does one go about buying a stupidly expensive penthouse suite, alongside a private garage full of a dozen cars worth more than most people will earn in their life without letting on how they seem to have way more money than they should.
It's something I had to think about a lot, because I so dearly want to waste my money without having to hire someone to change my face or something first. It would be a pretty quick way to get caught if I spent a billion Yen despite only having four million in my account.
It turns out, the answer was actually pretty simple.
All I had to do, was get a girlfriend.
Doesn't seem like it would solve any problems, does it?
Well, it makes more sense when you consider that my girlfriend is someone who was never born, technically anyway.
She was born Homura Miyuki, one year before I was born. She grew up in a poor family and with few prospects at anything better. The only reason I even noticed her when I was looking for my Deus Ex Machina was because of her Quirk.
It was originally given the creative name of Statue, and it neatly fit into the category of weak Quirks, barely better than a Quirk to change hair colour. Seemingly all it allowed her to do, was to be still, like a statue.
Perhaps, without my intervention she would have become one of those street performers that paint themselves bronze and pretend to be a statue for some reason.
However, her Quirk is a bit more involved than that, which is why her new identity's Quirk is named Control instead, because it allows her to perfectly control her own body.
To be fair, if she bothered to work for it, she could have likely been a monster in a fight, at least within human limits anyway. No amount of martial arts can save you from Endeavour.
Now, a Quirk like that was exactly what I was looking for, because it makes her an amazing liar.
So, I approached her with an offer. I would create for her an entirely new identity, I would hire someone to change her body, and I would ensure that her parents got to live safely and without struggle for the rest of their lives. All she has to do in turn, is be my stupidly rich girlfriend who is happy to share her wealth with me.
She accepted.
So now, I have an acceptable excuse for having so much money. I'm just a gold digger.
I find that part very funny, considering all her money is just my money, but whatever, I don't care if people think I'm a gold digger.
And that, is the story of how I met my lovely girlfriend, Nayuta Makima, Heiress of Nayuta Industrials, another company I own.
Smiling in thought as I arrive at my new building, I ignore everyone around as I head to the elevator, enjoying hearing my dear Makima 'talking' with the man who used to own this building.
Well, technically he still does own the building, as well as a few others, but I've bought out his company, so everything he owns is basically mine. Or, Makima's, as the case may be.
Really, it's more like he's talking at her and she occasionally responds. But with her calm confidence and unwavering stare, well, she tends to unnerve people. Especially when they are aware of how much power she wields.
I could have even a man as wealthy and well connected as Mr Horiyama bankrupt with relative ease, which means Makima can do that too, and he knows it.
Hence the simpering.
It's very amusing.
A bell chimes and the elevator opens to the top floor.
The first thing I am greeted by is a wide and long corridor with ornate decorations and lined with paintings and pottery more expensive than most cars.
There's also a pair of suit wearing security guards, both of whom have a machine gun held loosely in their arms, MP5s, I believe.
The guards both straighten as I walk out, dressed in a simple black jacket and pants, with a white shirt. Of course, the clothes are all custom tailored and made of the best material available, and I'm also wearing a watch worth one and a half million Yen.
But at this point, I feel like it's probably getting redundant to mention that everything I own is stupidly expensive. I just don't deal with cheap stuff, and now that I don't even have to hide my wealth anymore, I never will again.
I walk past the guards without a care. They might be professional, and I am honestly impressed by their professionalism, as they've only had two very short conversations that I've heard while they've been standing here. It's rare to find people that won't slack off when nobody's looking.
Still, in one of those conversations they spoke of how their employer bought out this entire building just for her 'boy toy'. I'm obviously not going to punish them for mocking me or anything, it would be beyond retarded to deceive someone and then punish them for being deceived by you.
Either way, it doesn't really matter, and soon enough I reach the door to the suite and finally pay attention to the incredibly attractive silver haired maid standing just outside the door in a polite bow.
Her name is Grayfia, and she is an incredibly professional maid. In fact, she is so professional that I even told her that Makima's wealth is actually my wealth.
She is probably the most loyal out of all the people who work for me. Granted, that's not too hard of an achievement considering most of my 'employees' don't know who the fuck I am, but whatever.
With only a slight deepening of her bow as a greeting, Grayfia opens one of the double doors for me and I enter without breaking my stride, smiling as my eyes finally sight upon the room I have been listening to with such anticipation.
It does not disappoint.
The suite opens into a large room that by itself is probably about as big as most people's houses, and this is just the living room.
Everything is very modern, with smooth edges, marble counters and fluffy white couches. The far end of the room is a seating area that is lowered by two steps and leads to a wall of glass, beyond which is an infinity pool facing the countryside, with the distant ocean just barely visible from this height.
Grayfia closes the door behind me as I walk towards the kitchen off to the side, as that is where Makima and Mr Horiyama are seated, with another maid standing in the background ready to serve.
It doesn't take long for the sound of my steps to reach the pair, and while I mostly ignore Mr Horiyama, Makima's expression doesn't change in the slightest.
Her eyes do not light up, her posture doesn't straighten any further, by all counts, one would assume that she doesn't care about my presence any more than anyone else.
However, with my Quirk, I hear how her heartbeat pulses, speeding up slightly as she sets her sights on me, even as her smile doesn't change.
Naturally, with her own Quirk, she could stop her heartbeat from changing if she wanted to, but allowing her heart to beat naturally is her way of showing me her affection.
After all, I may have basically bought her, but do keep in mind that I brought her out of poverty and into a life of wealth, luxury and power. Everything that she is, she owes to me, and it's not like I'm a complete asshole anyway.
So, while I wouldn't go as far as to claim that she loves me, I do know that she at least holds some affection for me. Which is nice, I suppose.
"Kyo, perfect timing, we were just finishing our conversation," Makima lies. They were in the middle of their conversation, but Mr Horiyama isn't going to contradict her, and Makima just doesn't want him to be here anymore. "Grayfia can make you something to drink, and then I will give you the tour."
"Sure," I answer, taking a seat and ignoring Mr Horiyama as he and Makima finish their pleasantries before the man beats a hasty retreat.
Now alone, or at least without anyone who shouldn't know about the actual power balance in this relationship, Makima gets up and moves to sit next to me, loosing her control over her Quirk just enough to give me a small, but beautiful smile.
"Does it live up to your expectations so far, Darling?" She asks as I accept a glass of scotch from Grayfia.
I don't actually know much about drinks, what goes into mixing them and stuff, all I know is that the bottle this was poured from cost a hundred thousand Yen, and that is a taste better than any flavour to me.
"It does. You've done a good job here, thank you." Once again, Makima does not noticeably react, but I can hear the rushing blood in her cheeks that wants to become a blush but is incapable of doing so.
I never had a fetish for kuuderes, but damn Makima is just too cute sometimes.
Not as cute as my idiot sister of course, but that's a very different kind of cute.
"Will you be staying long? You mentioned that you had something to do today." I don't honestly know if Makima is upset at the prospect of me leaving so soon and is just not letting me see it or not, but either way, it doesn't really matter.
"I can do that without leaving. The police are having a meeting to talk about the Mr Kiyoshi's recent dip in wealth and I want to listen in, that's all. They're in my range." My range, which she thinks is only two kilometres. Not because I don't trust her, but because there are a lot of Quirks out there, and I don't trust that someone won't be able to read her mind.
Operational security becomes a lot more important when one has to worry about potential telepaths, I already know of three that could steal the information right out of her head. Thankfully, only one of them is in Japan at the moment, and I make sure to know where she is at all times.
"In that case, shall we begin the tour?" Makima asks, and I smile at the suggestive tone.
Well, I say 'suggestive tone', but once again, that is the result of Quirks. She can let up on her own Quirk just the slightest amount, not enough that anyone even with enhanced hearing would even notice the difference, but even a change of only a couple of Hertz is something my power is capable of picking up on.
She's fun.

A/N: He~llo! Dear readers!
Should I make this fic smutty? I kinda feel like that's the only option to go forward, cuz the mc already has an established presence and wealth and is also already very powerful, so there's not much conflic gonna happen beyond protecting his sister. plus Kyoraku is a man of vices, so it would make sense to follow that kind of plot.
Idk, just don't really know what to write about with this fic, suggestions would be appreciated :)
