Major geographic makeover at OldSunset!
🕑 Added 2022-02-24 17:23:45 +0000 UTCGood morning guys! I have interesting news to share with you! Yesterday was a big day of change for OldSunset. I spent approximately 9 hours making significant adjustments to the terraforming and small details to make the map even more faithful to the beta version of The Sims 3, at least geographically.
This area had been bothering me for some time. As much as I filled in lots, eventually 2 things would happen. There would be more space than needed to be filled or it would be visually polluted with excess information.
Since the purpose behind OldSunset is to relay the feel and spirit of Neighborhoods as we had in The Sims 2, even in a massive world like OldSunset, I made some adjustments to get that feel.
Smaller batches help bring more performance to the map, and on the right, I changed the terraforming to be more similar to the image below
I confess that I was initially worried about the visual result of it all. I had to remove a lot of the nature to make these adjustments and here you can have two preview images of how this region, previously ready, ended up looking during the changes
In the end, the result pleased me. We made some adjustments and managed to add even more detail to this region. I would like to know your opinion about these changes and what you would have done in my place or what you would still do to make this area even more beautiful.
And finally, an image of the current map:
