ENGLISH: OldSunset October - New Arrivals Coming
🕑 Added 2021-10-28 14:05:18 +0000 UTCThis has been a very productive month for OldSunset! The world has evolved on several levels, which makes me extremely proud! If I had to compare the release of that month, I would say it was equivalent to the month of April that brought many lots. But more than that, this update is bringing a lot of cool stuff!
And the first one is a new home screen for the game, as well as a new world loading screen!
With that in mind, I couldn't fail to review other improvement points that would be considerable for the map to become even more special! For that reason, OldSunset has been completely revamped, and given 100% new textures made especially for it!
The new grass textures suit better throughout the day, without excessively reflecting or changing their color to an odd green. In addition, the beach received new sand textures (with lighter and more realistic color) and wet sand texture (slightly darker around the beach).
I used the Sunset Valley paint map to assign several "flaws" along the OldSunset map, where the grass has relatively lighter or darker textures, making the look even more beautiful and deeper.
Fun Facts: The current grass is an overlay of The Sims 2 grass with the old OldSunset grass, modified and tweaked for the best visual appearance without showing repetitive patterns across the map, and with colors that look attractive anytime of the day.
Something looks different in the image below, but you don't know what? This is because OldSunset is also getting a new asphalt texture!
And the best part is that I created this modification on top of a Street Replacement file, which means that all worlds that use the default Sunset Valley street will now have better quality asphalt, with more defined and nicer textures!
But does not stop there. For Brazilians, there is an incredible surprise! 6 mods that were previously in the Mods folder were fully TRANSLATED to PT-BR. And they are:
-ANI Apartment Manager Mod
-Open for business Mod by SimState
-Zerbu Carrers Mod
-Mod Karma Powers
-Rabbit Holes Rugs
-Mod Pedestal for Clothing Store by ANI
-Mod that charges fee when using taxi has been fixed and now displays the correct characters.
I loved translating each of these mods and to demonstrate the love I feel for one of them in particular from Open for Business (which is my favorite theme ever) I reinvented the management interface for a nicer look and replaced the file so that the presentation balloons were not yellow as before, but had the default look of the game:
The OldSunset art gallery is proud to share that in addition to all these changes the game will receive more than 8 new unique arts, and of course this wouldn't be possible without talented artists I've appropriated to share their talent on The Sims 3 (Note: soon all custom paintings will receive adaptations to their descriptions, which are currently provisional):
Salon Arts for the City's New Remodel Salon:
Country arts, to share the beauties of Henford on Bagley with our Sims from The Sims 3:
And here are some heart-stirring screenshots of OldSunset, after all, we also have local artists!
The changes don't stop there. Because OldSunset is getting new residential lots to embrace the arrival of new residents in the city!
Are they:
This beautiful two-house residence, which can be used with the ANI apartment mod, to subdivide the core in two and each live the best that OldSunset can offer inside their own homes.
This upscale cabin located in the region that was made available in the last update. (The house that used to be here was relocated to the countryside, fitting perfectly into the main corner).
This beautiful and simple house was inspired by the house of the first trailer we saw for The Sims 3, in which the Sim is first introduced to the greatness of the open world! Because it's inspired, it's different, therefore bigger and possibly more interesting. Perfect for an old man who loves to take care of other people's lives, but has a midlife crisis Haha
We also have this huge house, located next to the mountain trails, which was created to accommodate a very large family! If your Sims love this style of building, it could be the perfect home for them!
And here is the new commercial batch. The remodeling hall. The place where your Sims will seek a total transformation of their look, with the ability to purchase new jewelry or clothing by a handpicked stylist to help you on this quest!
Another interesting, little-cited change over the month about this OldSunset update is that it's getting invisible rabbit hole mats in EVERY batch. Which means you no longer have to guess where the cafeteria or school is. And even though these lots are STILL not functional (as it's a change that can only be made through saves) at least now, you don't need to keep putting other rabbit holes around town to be able to send your Sims to work.
The mats will offer the same functionality, but since they haven't been configured to work with open lots, it means your Sims will go to the lot and disappear.
A cool curiosity: Thanks to this change, whenever your Sim goes to the cinema now, sees a movie, their account will automatically be debited 40 simoleons. After all, you're in the theater watching a movie, it makes sense that it wouldn't still be free, right?
And last but not least: ALL batches have been revised again, which means that more than 30 batches received minor tweaks like: Texture fixes to make them even more beautiful, performance tweaks so they were able to load even more fast and one of my favorite things that demonstrates the care each of these lots receives: I definitely don't like to leave a wall or floor that is unpainted, even if they're not part of the field of view, so not to distract you from the main focus that is the lot, I paint these details like the floor, wall and the inside of the roofs in black. And most of the batches, which had already been revised, still needed to get a little more attention, as they had left one detail or another behind, which means they are now completely up to the world's Boring Bones standard!
I know... you'll hardly even notice the difference, but I will. And even though it doesn't make sense, it's a detail that is still important to me Hahaha.
Well, this has been a month of great learning modifying, translating and tweaking mods to suit our purposes and all of this has left me extremely happy and optimistic about the transformation we can bring to The Sims 3 until OldSunset is completed. So, did you like all this news?
The map will be available for Download here on Patreon and for YouTube members until the end of the day today. Minor adjustments still need to be made but most of the changes are already done!!
