That potion's* won't heal it completely." => potion

Dillon Beedie

I think, his unconscious actions may have already gotten used to the strength, but when he tried to take over consciously the control it's as great. Like breathing whoever you focus on it, it always goes weird. Just my thought

Caleb Reusser

So he damages the shampoo bottle and over squeezes the toothpaste when he is trying to be careful. But his unthinking grab of the person doesn't harm them or grabbing Zuni out the water doesn't damage Zuni. Pushing Zuni doesn't send him flying. Seems like his extra strength is there for comedic reasons and for story purposes but isn't consistent.

Glad to have been of use

I did not read that one yet, but I gotta thank you for making me look it up, looks like great inspiration for a few things I have been planning :)

Hi! Not annoying at all, thanks for the feedback. I did some research and was indeed quite far off in terms of strength. For Adom to break stone without conscious effort, it would be closer to 15x the strength of an adult male lmao Looking at the numbers, average male grip strength is about 50-60kg according to medical studies. To actually fracture even soft stone like limestone, you'd need around 800-1000kg of force. For harder stones like granite, we're talking 1500-2500kg of force. Even when concentrated in a small area with perfect technique, you'd still need at least 750-800kg of force. So doing the math (750kg ÷ 50kg), that's about 15x normal human strength at minimum to casually break stone. Veeery different from my 3x. I'll be making some changes about that tonight :)

Thank you! Yeah, I've been told my analogies could be done better more than once haha, I like your perspective on that, will be changing that in the edits and the future chapters to come :)

Great story so far. Some advice: When you make analogies you should be precise with what you are referencing. For example '...was like a Blacksmith Hammer hitting an anvil" or similar will make people think you are talking about the sound. Especially if the context is from the pov of the other guy who can only hear and not see it. So intead write: 'sound/power/impact/etc. of a Blacksmith hitting an Anvil'. Keep going! I love the story so far!

That being said, due to physics he really would have launched his body into the air rather than crushing the stone. He still only weighs so much

Josh Cothran

Yeah 3 times peak human strength would make it more believable. Imagine being 3 times stronger than Brian Shaw for example

Javier

Just think about people who go gym, for example they can do more than 3 times in bench press than average male. I think is better yo say "3 times max potential strength for human body"

Acheritte

It's not only the stone, exploding the soap by barely gripping it, or traning to not rip the door off induce a strength way beyond 3 times an adult male in my opinion.

Gernot Bahle

I won‘t spoil, but I‘d very surprised if it isn‘t the same creature that‘s been in the original story before the rewrite. Also, egg + fire 😉 a creature that fits has already been mentioned a few times when referring to the ancient mythical beasts revered as gods 😉

Hellnhavoc

It would depend on what kind of stone. I’ve met some construction workers that make me wonder if they can crush stone with their grip.

Acheritte

Hi, gonna be a little annoying here but i don't think 3 times the average good male strength bring that level of strength. Let's take the top percentile which should be around 50/60 kg grip strength times 3, making that 150/180 then let's add adom own strength to the mix ( should it be additional to the ability ) and that should be around 20/30 kg making it top at 200 kg. 200 kg of grip while still really strong does not make the world a cardboard easy to tear. Sorry if what I'm saying is confusing, not my native language. In any case love your story and thank you for the chapter.

Aaron Johnson

Is she going to be like Silk from "The Belgariad" who ends up the richest guy in the world merchant and spy extraordinaire? No need to the prince with a thing for his brothers wife though.

Aaron Johnson

It sounds more like magical energy to me than actual fire and there is already a dragon in the story. I think it might be connected to magic and true runes. The fey sounds interesting although a lot are connected to trees I don't know of any that are connected to apple trees or eggs.

Rick

At least Clark Kent had a whole childhood to get used to his strength! I wonder if the Adventurers' Guild, or Danner himself, will inadvertently make trouble for Adom by drawing attention to his abilities. Hmmm. An egg which fails to be consumed by fire. A dragon egg?

Michael Olson

Yah, it's about timr

Eli Loeb

Finally telling sam

Ace_the_owl

The merchant/spy building arc begins!

Thanks!
