I promise the dungeon arc will make sense by the end of it, it really ties into the main plot

Storyflower

Obvious thought. That would be nice before moving toward a totally new unrelated tangent.

CommodoreCaptain

I’d like to see our boy bond one of the spiders babies which is what I’m assuming is hidden in the cave path he’s not allowed in.

My main problem, currently, is: I kinda want to wait for 20+ chapters to be released and then read through it. Chapter by chapter, I feel stressed out. At least currently. Too much excitement, and not enough agency of the MC.

EsZeus

Agreed. Currently I feel kinda "stressed out" by the story, just because of the pace/jump from one encounter or situation to the next. And at the same time, it feels all like "fate" and the MC has less "real" agency. Then we add, sometimes, the lack of "power" through knowledge or planning he should have, and then we are here ^^

Mark

It's possible the system lied to motivate the MC, but then why hasn't the MC questioned their growth rate?

Mark

I agree. For instance, I doubt everyone that learns how to box takes a flat amount less damage, that's system shenanigans, which the system clearly stated it doesn't do. Not even gonna talk about identify or his storage space.

Arthur Oliveira

I completely agree with you. Considering that the author already had well-structured contingency plans, he could have waited to implement them. I understand that reading about unpredictable situations is interesting, but the feeling of disconnection with the immersion in the story can occur when the developments are too abrupt. I would like to make it clear that I see great potential in the story and that the writer has great topics to explore. Because I believe in the development of the narrative, I will continue to follow it.

Thanks for the chapter! I mean this all seems interesting but I at the same time am obviously way more interested what comes "after", because while interesting it feels kind of like a "foregone conclusion"? A bit similar to the Labyrinth Arc of course probably the end chapter will have something wider reaching for the rest of the plot, but well most of these and similar Arcs is largely "survival and training" and thats fine but I have admit it feels a tiny bit like we'll in the future just get "normal outside story intwined with some training and fighting" and "special super hardocore training and survival Arcs". I think part of that is how this thing started... Both the Labyrinth and the Dungeo or even the fight before at the trade with Cisco weren't in his plans, he was "forced into them by fate" so to speak^^ And of course especially in a world of Magic with powerful enemies (or friends) things like that aren't automatically "forced Author plot development" because a relatively weak MC can't control nearly everything, but when it happens twice in a "row" kind of and then also aren't short 1-2 chapter situations but several chapters with nothing "outside" in them... I kind of find myself much more considering how he will deal with the implications of "You went missing from out of the Academy after spacial magic destroyed the room you were in and now reappear weeks later???". Because we can't predict such an Arc anyway... Never before was it mentioned Dungeon monsters could chose to cooperate with Humans in fact Dungeons were painted as the ultimate naturak desaster and enemy of civilization... So how to predict something like that? Now you have by all rights shown us a Monster that is quite literally impossible to kill for Adom... I mean how would he do that? We know that is pure speed is literally fast enough to look like teleporting to him, Fluid empowerment or not he would NEVER be able to even leave the cave without it catching him (since his plan was to seal it inside) and well we don't know how good its senses are in its sleep so its kind of useless to speculate about the exact fight... Either this works or it doesn't and Even then... Exthausted after killing/escaping the Spider he should by all rights also just be dead in the Dungeon Desert right? No Food camoflaging Enemies who have proven they can appear right next to him and improved flos prediction or not are simply way too fast and strong for him to fight melee without Mana... Right now It feels like once again Adom is in an impossible situation in fact it feels similar to the "Golem Race" (Or the other "impossible challanges he just proceeds to straight up solve) in the Labyrinth: The Golem was literally almost as fast as Bob only seconds slower to the items... Bob however was way faster than Adom and Adom was almost dead from exthaustion but he STILL suddenly was fast enough to win the race and kill the Golem... I understand the purpose of building suspension and that to have the MC complain and contemplain the impossible strengths of their Foes and of the situations does that well but it also feels like a cheap trick if overused too much. Stories where every fight is described as "impossible, nobody in his position could ever win, but then he did the unimaginable and pull of this one move to still make it out lol". I think so far this story has tread that balance well (though as I said specifically with the Golem scene it was closer to the Edge of "well he won because he has too even though I said it was impossible" than I normally enjoy in stories) I think its just a risk especially for Regressor stories^^ Since they for some reason usually tend to feature MCs who just love seeing everything as "Well in the last timeline this guy was so strong and I in my age couldn't have killed him!!!" but wouldn't it make much more sense for the literal regressor to focus on the fact that "I know everything about these kinds of opponents and am much more capable than in that timeline so its possible I just need manage: X, Y, Z". The last thing is probably personal preference though. I just enjoy much more being told/given hints actual important information that the MC also has and then try to think and predict on my own how he may solve it rather than just being told "the MC is faced with overwhelming power and terrible odds but... "insert the extreme effort he had to go through to find the unexpected small edge nobody else considered to let himself still win/survive". Ok this escalated into a huge deluge of text... In case thats a clear case of "tldr": I enjoy reading this story in general and learning about new aspects of it "Dungeons", "intelligent dungeon monsters" and seeing Adom develop his skills and powers. But right now with it basically being clear he WILL survive probably without crippling injury or something like that, I as a reader am much more invested for all the other plotlines outside (Gang war, is Valiant dead? What about the academy, Gale, and proffesser Kim and of course Eren? Are his Parents smashing the undertow in search for him or something? And how can he solve this mess without telling people "I broke the most fundamental law of magic haha please don't kill me because me saying that should prove I am insane!") to wrap up/continue :)

Samuel McCarren

Good story mate! Dungeon chappys good! (Only the system that seems abit disjointed.. sometimes it feels like it just reflects improvements but sometimes it seems to drive them e.g. iron lungs / quests - can other mages develop iron lungs, Indomitable Will, Boxing(?) if so maybe a more organic explanation involving mana patterns or inspiration based mind techniques would read better and account for qualitative step changes in capabilities (or just remove notifications and limit to status changes when checked).. otherwise really good storytelling!)

Bookworm bibliophile

One thing I am sure of is mc hatred for vampires. Like dam they ruined everything for him

Angel

Great chapter...was honestly more invested in what will happen in the real world outside of the dungeon. This feels more like a place holder. It would be great if he can gain his healing or some badass fighting reward in this dungeon arc.

Ace_the_owl

The dungeon arc will not last more than 5 more chapters, unless I have to do more edits. Curious to see what you guys think of it. I really enjoyed writing it. Currently editing the next ones, and I'll release them as I go. Happy reading!
