Did Helios teleport into the classroom ? That part wasn't very clear. Why is he so powerful that he can take on a supreme ancient war golem - the apex creation of the former age ? Either Helios is a hidden [Vampire Emperor] or the golem is a rust bucket. Sorry, can't get over that. And why not do this during the daytime ?

lenkite

This chapter was disappointing. I think you will need to heavily downgrade the War Golem and all that wow-wow about it. If Helios can 1:1 fight the War Golem, he should have easily killed Adom with the fingernail of his pinky finger. You have upgraded Helio's war capabilities to ridiculous levels. Or this Golem is just a dud. All that overly repeated Awesome turned into sewage waste. Apparently, your top-tier War Golem that is far more rarer than Star Knights can only fight low-tier thugs. Seems a really expensive piece of crap. I strongly suggest positioning it as a bucket-heap, rusted Golem not some supreme war-fighting relic that always loses to strong opponents. Not sure why Adom was busy wasting time watching people count and trying to out a spy when he should have teleported out as SOON as he had the ingredients. That was eye-rolling when he knows there is a Star Knight, a master vampire and a traitor in the organization. You get the ingredients and then you get out ASAP. Why wait around till they count the money ? Also, If Marco was the traitor, Adom should have already been caught MUCH earlier. He could got Eren and Adom with zero trouble.

That's what i thought from the start, also the wyrm was created genetically perfect for adom by past mages so is obvious

Fucking Shracc

the patreon notifications for people that are on lower rank subscriptions are generally weird. my notifications are 28, 29, 34

TheOne320

Yeah, I thought the golem getting destroyed before it even got the new armour ist just weird. Why bother introducing the armour?

Chaz Baz

Fun but soooooooo predictable. Of cause he's not getting the ingredients. Soon his parents will turn up and help him live! But one has to die for drama reasons. He's meant to be an old super wizard getting a second to to both live and save the world. He needs to get way more bloody bad ass. Please, when the story is getting this predictable it looses originality and interest. Good characters, well written but the over powered friend and the DRAGGING health issue, bllllaaaaahhh!

Richard Davis

Hm. I would have thought that Cisco wasn't really dead. He's a likable, interesting character, and one that holds the readers' sympathy. But we do have the omniscient 3rd person narrator referring to his body as a 'corpse.' So far I don't believe we 've seen any instances of the narrator being unreliable. I find it slightly disappointing that Adom didn't get to keep the ingredients. He'd worked hard for them, waited long.. plus it would have been cool to see him put his past life knowledge of of the cure to good effect. Maybe a race against time seen to brew the cure properly (even having obtained the ingredients) in a dangerous situation? I think I also find Gale to be tedious. 'Big strong fast star knight' -- ok. But (perhaps in order to leave him shrouded in mystery) we know nothing about his background, his thoughts, the source of his powers, how they work.. He seems to be, in a sense, a razor-thin character summed up with 'I'm just fast, strong, and evil.' Yeah, there's a LITTLE more there.. like the way he sent that hunter's grin to the golem a few chapters back, but not a lot. I did appreciate Adom's canniness in counting the 'strikes' and his prudence in 'calling it' on strike three. If only his golem could speak! "Cisco, Valiant, Marco.. can you guys come here for a minute?" I continue to enjoy these scenes with Cisco and am simply hoping this will not be the last.

Richard Davis

Welp! It was a good book, while it lasted. RIP Golem, Vampire + Protagonist.

Hellnhavoc

The author has seen the feedback, i have high hopes we will see some pivots. I will say another thing was when he said he only beat the future swordmaster bully kid (beginning fight) because he caught him off guard and wouldnt able to otherwise. Im like even with all that knowledge? Then the one kid is born with ungodly mana..... im like more and more it makes my badass MC feel less so. I've already said i hope that kid goes away or dies. In any case i look forward to seeing what the author works up. They are creative so i have high hopes.

BlaueFeder

True, the MC should be way stronger because of his future memories and not fail against a small time villain. Thats like going back in time, just to be intimidated by a 12 year old bully...

BlaueFeder

Have to agree on the chapter. Too much at once for my taste and the golem got thrashed too early AGAIN. Gale is too op as well imo, but thats me. Replacing the wyrm heart is a good idea though!

Dylan King

I'd agree with this critique, Helios just hasn't really come off as this powerful so far, and Gale probably needs a little bit more time to simmer before he comes off as this outright overpowered. I think the scaling after the dungeon arc has kinda been thrown off with the Circles and mana scores being forgotten. Its still good, just seems a little chaotic for the purpose of being chaotic.

Ace_the_owl

There should be now, did you receive the notification?

Afrisan

Is there another chapter somewhere and I’m not seeing it?

Ace_the_owl

Hmm, I totally get why it feels sudden, and it kind of is, from Adom's POV, but it also makes sense for it to be Marco. He is Cisco's right hand man, so it would be easier for him to do it than anyone else. I'll edit the chapters to add a few POV shifts, so that it is more understandable. I think I should have done that from the start

Storyflower

So now suddenly Marco is a traitor as well? If it were so easily to breach Cisco's organisation, why not use that to find Adom more easily? They (Marco) probably know Eren's identity as well. And the chapter started so controlled.

R. Maxwell Steele

With the exception of having that White Wyrm heart already perfect preserved in his inventory. Yeah he lost the Drake heart and fell through reality. His broken stone is connected to a working one, so maybe he can connect back to it? He does have a literal lucky clover.

R. Maxwell Steele

Messy chapter. But I predicted him losing the heart. Why else would already have a similar heart from the White Wyrm in his inventory. Specifically one that has already positively enhanced his body AND was instantly perfectly persevered by his inventory. So having that in my back pocket means I saw the whole thing falling apart. Just not to the extent that things actually fell apart. Fall through reality.

Rhuiedian

Still loving the story! But you may have too many irons in the fire.

Rhuiedian

This was a good action sequence! However, the pacing seems off. Helios was a mid-tier antagonist designed to let Adom show his growth while he cured himself. Now, you have mixed the plotlines by introducing a Star Knight and a big bad organization behind the deployment of Dragon's Breath while also not resolving the criminal underground plot. As a few others have said, this has had the unintentional effect of scaling Helios' power level to remain relevant in the plot (and making him seem like an unhinged meat shield) while also not allowing combat with the Star Knight to shine through.

Luis Garcia

It does not 'fit' together. He was on watch, saw it coming - three strikes even, but did not have a way to secure the good he needed to live "when" he was betrayed? I could see one, but not both. Also, I would have expected him to have had a nice sun-lit patch ready for "when" he runs across the vamp, either artificial or over the horizon. C'mon, he knows he was going to face the vamp eventually, and knows his only weakness - why not use that? Finally, he eliminated the research into Dragon's Breath, but still knows it himself, but doesn't use it? Nope. Does not compute.

EsZeus

Yes? Dunno. The MC feels like having -9000 luck in his hidden stats.

EsZeus

I read the whole chapter... A little bit baffled. Again. I dunno. I really dunno. I totally understand that stories NEEDS up and downs. But this is so similar to losing the golems arm. So far, it's just one stressful encounter after another. And it doesn't feel like Adom is strong. I get it, really. But exactly as the comment here before me stated, it feels so weird. Like artificially fighting against mountains of power, everything goes wrong, everybody is so strong. It feels way more like reading a story about the MC having bad luck and running away from catastrophe all the time. I am not even sure what to feel now after this chapter :)

Hellnhavoc

Not sure how I feel. Helios is a bit ridiculous powerful and he’s a nobody. This knight is also a bit ridiculous. Isn’t the armor supposed to be impressive? Honestly can’t wait until they die and he gets medicine.

Bookworm bibliophile

Integrity and underworld dont go together. Beside who wants to see a novel where only the bad guy dies

Uroš

Yeah but in the underworld, integrity is the only thing you've got. Unless he decided to retire after, there is no more life there for him. Who's going to trust him ever again?

Ace_the_owl

Haha, so sorry, I had some unexpected things to care of urgently. The chapters are available now, I hope you enjoy them!

Ace_the_owl

Thank you for reading Gopard! Well, I will not spoil, but Valiant will answer the question hopefully ;)

Ace_the_owl

Sorryyy

Ace_the_owl

Well, it was kind of a ripple effect from Adom's actions. With the undertow in chaos, and a target on Cisco and his men's heads, plus a star knight/mage(?) on the hunt, Marco, who's pragmatic, just chose survival, and decided to give Cisco and Adom both. He got angry at Egg not because Egg was being loud, but because he was not expecting Adom to not come himself, but still, the plan had to continue. It would be interesting to write the side characters' perspectives. I wonder if anyone would like to read them though. I try to keep the POV only on Adom, but I totally understand that it can limit the scope and understanding of the full picture.

Angel

So I thought another chapter or more would have been out by now based on your response here. When can we expect the next update?

ALEXEI

Soooo ?

Nathan

I'm so confused now... Did he just lose everything?

Arthur Oliveira

Thank you for the chapter! Your comment made me very anxious to read more.

Bookworm bibliophile

I mean i doubt the item itself would disappear and I don't think gale is interested in it

Bookworm bibliophile

I don't know but this chapter was hilarious. Like nearly everything that could go wrong had gone wrong. I honestly liked that the enemy was this competent and he didn't get streamrolled by the overpowered gloam, it gives the story stakes. One of the things the wise fear is "the anger of gentle man" or in this case rat, I want to see how the betrayal would effect the small bubble rat.

Uroš

Gold doesn't matter. The items though... yeah, probably lost. He still has about a month and a half left on the timer, if he got all the stuff now then it's too easy, right? He's probably going to be drinking the antidote with seconds to spare, I bet.

Uroš

Damn, I did not see Marco betraying Cisco like that. Given that in the previous timeline Cisco lived to save people from dragons breath. A nameless grunt I understand. But the most trusted 2nd in command... no. Also, is it going to be that kind of a novel where good people die around the MC all the time?

Uroš

This is 34. 32 and 33 were posted over the last few days.

Angel

So wait, did he loose both his gold and the items in the ambush? That would suck. I hope he is able to retrieve them or was stored in some way...that is not clear in this chapter.

Joshua LaBarge

The lucky clover definitely has to come into play here

VaeVictis9

Cliffhanger pause...NOooo!!!

Joshua LaBarge

A phoenix, quite the apt design for Adom. Love it!

Gopard

Thanks for the chapter! I NEED the next one holy shit!!! Fuck why couldn't he have told Cisco to wait for one more day? His father AND mother should be on they way already right? Even if his mother is a healer not a fighter she was an adventurer surely even as a healer she would pack quite the punch in a fight??!! I hope this ends up somewhat well... Maybe Cisco can be revived/isn't actually completely dead but has "just" a broken neck (maybe mousekin have an anatomic quirk that allows them to survive such injuries with higher chance than humans? But I doubt it in that chaos...

Mike L

Banger chapter holy

Ace_the_owl

You should have access to chapter 32 now I believe. Did you receive a notification, Joel?

Ace_the_owl

Aaaah, my bad. This is the Archmage tier. Let me correct this. Sorry for the mistake. I'll release 31 for you right away too!

Joel Rodriguez

No 32 or 33 for me

BWolfe1311

For me, at least, chapter 32 and 33 were skipped.

Ace_the_owl

No, it was : Chapter 30. I Am Regretting This Chapter 31. Blacksmith Chapter 32. Getting Ready Chapter 33. The Greater Good Chapter 34. And Then Nothing Remained Is it not in that order on your end?

Joel Rodriguez

Where we not at 32?

Ace_the_owl

I believe it is 34. Was there a mistake? Let me know and I'll change it!

Ace_the_owl

I am not leaving you guys on a cliffhanger I promise. I needed to heavily edit the chapters after your feedbacks, and the next one is coming tonight too, and the next one after that. It'll be easier to edit the next one, as i won't have much to change. Hope the chapter is enjoyable!

Joel Rodriguez

Is this actually 34? Or is it 32
