Practice makes perfect. Making a game is a whole other beast than making pixel animations. With animations, you don't need to do too much with the assets unless you are making a movie, but with making a game, you have to do so much more. You have to literally build systems from the ground up, decide how they work, and figure out how to make them work based on the system that your running with. Good luck. Practice makes perfect.
