Encounter with the old

“I want to see who would dare challenge me now.” Snorted Seth as he continued to walk at the same pace.
He was right in the end, and no one blocked his path until he was already out of the city. Having left the Capital of Curse, Seth took another look at it and was about to teleport when he spotted a woman approaching him with hurried steps.
Raising an eyebrow, he canceled the space energy and waited for the woman to approach. The woman came to Seth and fell to her knees, biting on her hand veins and throwing her blood at Seth’s feet before lowering her head.
Seth was utterly flabbergasted, but the system came to his rescue.
<She is professing her wish to be your blood slave.>
‘Wish? Blood slave?’
<A oath of sorts where a member of the Curse Kingdom can throw away their status and become a slave.>
“I do not need a slave. Go back.” Said Seth, turning around to leave.
“Please.” Said the woman, her voice trembling, but Seth continued walking forward.
Seeing Seth was about to leave, the woman brought her nails to her neck and was about to rip her neck open.
Seth also received a notification.
<In case a blood slave oath is declined, the slave is supposed to kill himself.>
Turning around and seeing the woman’s nails about to rip her throat, Seth teleported in front of her and caught her hand, freezing it in time. Looking around quickly, he was relieved no one else had seen him and asked the system.
‘How do I get out of this?’
<Other than brainwashing the woman, there is no other way. Even the ones betrayed by the system still follow its law.>
Seth nodded and started channeling his perception energy when the woman spoke again. “Thank you, blood-master, for saving my daughter.”
Seth stopped and looked down. “Was that woman in the arena your daughter?”
The woman nodded, and Seth sighed before filling her body with perception energy. He didn’t activate a complete brainwash, simply giving her some suggestions.
“From now on, you have never met me. Go on and live your life. When someone will come, looking to change your ways, support them.”
The woman’s grateful eyes turned blank, and she nodded before standing up and starting to leave towards the city.
“At least they still have a trace of humanity…” muttered Seth, turning around and teleporting away.
His mood was not that good, so he only focused on traveling out of Curse as soon as possible. After two days, Seth decided to stop at the river’s edge to take a break.
Getting undressed, he entered the slightly cold river water and rested his back on the rock, closing his eyes and drinking a vial of mixed energy to cultivate and recover his energy.
<Host is being watched>
A notification appeared in Seth’s vision, and he opened his eyes to see a small head hiding behind a boulder on the shore.
‘Show me.’
An image of a long-haired child appeared in his vision. He seemed to be a little boy judging from the thing dangling between his legs. Seth ignored him with a sigh and closed his eyes again, resuming his cultivation.
Soon, the system informed him that the kid had started searching through his clothes, but Seth didn’t react again.
After a few more hours, the child approached the shore carrying a small stick and pointed it toward Seth while saying in a commanding tone: “Food.”
Seth finally opened his eyes and looked towards the kid as he asked with a wry smile: “Are you robbing me?”
“Food.” Repeated the child, the small stick in his hands shaking up and down twice.
Seth closed his eyes while using a tendril of destruction to cut his stick in half. The kid looked at his cut stick, and tears welled in his eyes before he started crying loudly.
Seth sighed, opening his eyes and looking at the brat curled into a ball, crying his eyes out. With but a thought, Seth appeared next to him and pulled some warm food from his space storage, placing it before the kid.
The smell of the warm meat soup made the kid shut up immediately, and he put his mouth in the bowl, starting to eat like a ravenous dog.
Seth ignored the brat and started dressing up. He was about to teleport when the kid brought his soup-covered face out of the bowl and said again: “Food.”
Seth looked at the bowl and noticed that it was licked clean. Sighing again, he filled the shore of the lake with food. “Happy now?”
The kid looked at all the food and didn’t reply, starting to eat it up as Seth turned around and teleported away.
<Host, that was not a child.>
‘I know… my luck truly is the worst. To stumble upon that thing as I was taking a break. How long until I’m out of this place?’ replied Seth while growing up his hand again.
<Two weeks.>
Seth sighed and continued traveling. Two days later, right between blinks, a voice resounded in his ear, making Seth stop mid-jump.
“Time.”
Turning around, he saw a frail old man extending a hand toward him. Seth’s heart fell as he looked into the old man’s wrinkled face.
“You are one greedy fucker…” muttered Seth, placing his hand upon the old man’s. The old man smiled, showing his age-eaten yellow teeth, and the two remained standing for more than two minutes until Seth took his hand back.
“That’s already one life. Don’t test me.” Seth said before disappearing again.
But as the rumors from his previous timeline had warned him, he only managed to teleport in peace for two more days until a new voice reached his ears.
“Fight.”
Seth’s head dropped as he turned around and saw a barbaric-looking woman carrying a great axe over her shoulder, extending a finger toward him.
“This cursed fucking kingdom…” said Seth under his breath, a great sword materializing in his hand.
Without hesitation, Seth pushed against the ground, charging at the barbaric woman in front of him.
The sound of metal hitting metal resounded throughout the plains as Seth, and the woman kept moving back and forth, their weapons clashing in full force.
The fight continued for hours until, after having reinforced his sword more than two times, the great axe the woman was wielding finally broke.
As a sad look appeared on the woman’s face, Seth snorted and turned around, starting to teleport again, but the sword had also disappeared from his hand.
Another weird encounter would await him every two days.
“Gold.”
“Rest.”
As Seth was about to explode, the voice returned; this time, it was a request he didn’t expect.
“Sex.”
Turning around, his eyes were greeted by the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her body was perfect, her face was flawless, and even her voice was heavenly. Seth thought that he wouldn’t have done a better job if he were responsible for building the ideal woman.
Taking a look at her womanly assets, since no clothes were preventing him from doing so, Seth asked the system. ‘What does it steal this time?’

“I thought I made myself clear the last time. You are pushing it.”
The young man bowed towards Seth as a noble would and said again.
“Friend.”

“Friend.” The young man spoke again, his skin starting to wriggle like that woman from before.
Seth’s body started slowly becoming covered in destruction energy as his eyes began to turn cold.
“I will not satisfy your vanity.”
The young man’s face started to distort, his charming look turning uglier by the second. His smile turned into complete contempt as his eyes took a deep violet color.
An ominous aura of the same violet color started covering the youth’s body and growing stronger.
Seth also didn’t back down, the seal around his divinity slowly becoming undone as his eyes became dark red.
As Seth was about to attack, thick chains rushed out of the ground, coiling around the young man’s feet. A pained scream left the young man’s mouth, and he started to get dragged deep underground.
He scratched against the ground, trying to free himself from the chains dragging him down. Still, his efforts were fruitless as the chains relentlessly pulled him further down.
Seth heaved a sigh of relief and canceled his energy as he watched the spectacle with indifference. Once the young man was gone, Seth turned around and looked at a small cat that had appeared behind him.
“Thank you, Panther.”
