From bad to worst
🕑 Added 2022-10-08 11:00:05 +0000 UTCMorning came and the two finally split apart, falling on their backs onto the soft mattress while panting hard.
Henrietta turned her body towards Seth with a large smile as she rested her head on his shoulder and asked: “Can we go again?”
Seth smiled wryly as he looked at the mess they made inside the room and then at Henrietta. “Where is the girl that would run away after just a kiss? I miss her right now.”
Henrietta giggled and brought her body closer to Seth’s, not answering his question, but Seth didn’t have it, already remembering something that bothered him last night.
“That’s right, did you two change? Which Henrietta are you right now?”
Henrietta’s eyes glazed slightly as she shook her head: “We didn’t change. It was only me from the beginning till the end.”
Seth didn’t understand her answer, knowing there must still be more to the story, but a sudden notification broke his questioning attempt.
<Hilda is knocking on host’s door upstairs.>
“Fuck, mom.”, exclaimed Seth, startling the deep in thought Henrietta as he kissed her forehead and stood up.
Henrietta also covered her breasts with a hand and supported her body on her other one before asking: “Did something happen?”
Seth covered his body in a wave of destruction, removing the evidence of the last night’s adventures before teleporting a set of clothes on his body.
“Mom is looking for me upstairs. I promised her we’ll talk and completely forgot about it. Do you want to come with me, or do I come back to pick you up later? Anyway, don’t try teleporting out on your own. You’ll most probably fall off the ship.”
Since he had the system to remap his coordinates and assist with teleportation and portals that remained anchored in space, he didn’t have any issues using space energy on a moving vessel. Still, Henrietta ran the risk of teleporting into the open air.
Henrietta thought for a moment before sitting up and spreading destruction energy over her body as well. “I’m coming. I’ll also head to my room to cultivate since I’m falling behind everyone else.”
Seth nodded, and once they were both decent, he created a portal for her that led to her room. With Henrietta gone, he teleported into his room.
After opening the door from the inside, he found Hilda waiting for him with an irked look on her face. Not minding Seth’s awkward look, she walked past him and stepped inside before turning around and crossing her arms over her chest.
Seth closed the door and said with a sigh: “Mom, I - “
“Don’t mom me. Didn’t you say yesterday you’ll come to explain to me later? How come I didn’t see you looking for me? Why are you walking around kissing other girls after nagging me for so long about Maya? Didn’t you say you love her and that I must understand? How come you’re now kissing others in front of her, nonetheless? How come Maya had nothing to say either? Has the world gone mad and failed to tell me about it? Do you…”
Hilda kept talking, Seth having no choice but to remain there awkwardly and listen to her. Her speech continued for over five minutes when she stopped to take in some air.
Seth opened his mouth to speak but didn’t get the chance as Hilda resumed her speech from earlier, apparently not being done. Three more minutes later, Seth had no choice but to try to stop her, so he started speaking over her.
“Mom, please listen to me for a minute. I understand you’re angry and disappointed, but please give me a chance to speak.”
“What chance to speak? You better believe I’m disappointed. Did I raise you to fool around with girls like that? Have you seen your father ever look at another woman?…” A new wave of lecturing began. This time, Seth did not even know how he could make her stop.
Hilda only stopped ten minutes later when she got everything off her chest, and she started panting while trying to catch her breath.
Seth saw her mouth was parched from all the speaking and got a glass of water from his spatial storage, extending it to her. Hilda looked at the glass for a moment before taking it from his hand and downing it in one go.
Once done, she extended her hand holding the glass towards Seth and said: “Don’t even think you can get away from me with a glass of water. Now let’s hear it. What explanation could you have?”
Seth sighed, not knowing how to explain himself without revealing too much about his powers. He kept the glass in his storage space and moved towards the bed.
After sitting down, he patted the spot beside him and gave his mother a pitiful look. Hilda scoffed but still sat down on the bed, turning to look at her son with the same questioning look.
“You see, mom, you’re right. I don’t have an explanation that could satisfy you now, but believe me when I say I care about both Maya and Hollie.” Seth created a small orb for each of his energies and continued before his mother could erupt again: “You know I cultivate multiple energies. You have witnessed how I use some of them, but there are six in total.”
He made each orb fly before his mother and introduced them separately: “They are destruction, space, time, creation, perception, and last but not least, lust. Lust energy can be gathered by having… sex… with multiple partners.”
He felt awkward talking to his mother about sex but did it anyway since he thought this was the best way to explain himself.
“Since I didn’t want to have mindless sex with many women just so I could cultivate this energy, I decided I would pick only the ones I like and try to take care of them the best I could.”
“I don’t plan on fooling around with them, but make them my wives in the future. I know that it’s not normal in the Oath Kingdom for a man to have multiple wives, but it’s also not unheard of.”
“There are also - “Seth wanted to keep explaining, but Hilda interrupted him again, her eyes fixed on the lust source: “What a foul thing. Why do you have to cultivate this as well? Weren’t the other five enough for you?”
Seth was once more stumped as he smiled wryly and said: “I guess they would have been, but why not use my full potential? If the girls know about it and agree, why would I have to feel bad about it or try to hide it?”
“If you didn’t think it was so bad yourself, why did you hide it from me? From us? We heard talks about you fooling around with women at the academy, but I never gave them any credit, thinking they were baseless rumors spread by envious people. Who would have thought I didn’t even know the child I raised myself?”
Seth sighed and shook his head. “Mom, don’t be like that. You know why I didn’t tell you before. I knew this was how you would react, so I wanted to at least give you a chance to get familiar with the girls before telling you.”
“As I was saying, there are kingdoms out there where the kings have hundreds of women as wives, creating a large group called a harem.”
Hilda barely heard any word after hundreds, her eyes widening as she looked at Seth with actual fear in her eyes. It just dawned on her that he said the lust source needed ‘many’ women to progress.
“Don’t tell me… you too? Do you plan on marrying hundreds of women?”
Seth looked at his mother’s exaggerated expression and didn’t know how to reply, but his silence said more words than he ever could.
Hilda’s body swung slightly, and she fell on the bed behind, passed out from shock.
Seth quickly caught her and asked in a panic: ‘System?’
< She’s alright host, just passed out from shock…>
Seth didn’t feel any less relieved as he looked at his mother’s frowning face before teleporting out of the room; his destination was his parents’ room, where his father was lying on the bed, enjoying a glass of ale.
Seeing the portal appear in the middle of the room, Nash smiled initially, knowing Seth had come to visit, but his glass dropped on his lap when he noticed Seth was carrying a passed-out Hilda.
Sitting up in a panic, he came to check on his wife, ignoring the ale dripping on the floor beneath. Seth smiled wryly and said: “She’s fine, dad. Just passed out from shock.”
Nash didn’t know what this meant, but calmed down slightly when he heard Seth say she was okay. Looking up at his son with a questioning look, he said: “You better explain to me properly what happened, or I’ll beat you up, no matter what big shot you think you are.”
Seth sighed and laid his mother comfortably on the bed before explaining to his father everything that happened, including the words he said to his mother.
Nash looked at his son, puzzled, not knowing if he should still beat him up or feel sorry for the boy. He eventually sighed and caressed Hilda’s cheek with a loving look.
“You know, kid, I can’t say I understand this harem thing of yours, but I know why your mother would react like that.”
“We were raised in this matter; a man should only have one wife, and a woman should only have one husband. I don’t know if this is right, or your harem is right, but your mother believed in how we were raised.”
“She kept waiting for you to grow up and bring us a lovely wife home. She got past when you eventually chose Maya, thinking that at least her dream would finally be fulfilled, but when you kissed that other woman…”
Nash sighed and shook his head. “I am still of the opinion that you should do what you think is right with your life, but please try to understand your mother’s feelings as well. For any reason, you should not have told her you plan on having hundreds of wives. Of course, she would faint after hearing that.”
Seth also felt terrible, having gone too deep in looking for an excuse that he made his mother pass out of shock.
Nash noticed the regret on Seth’s face and said with a sigh.
“Go now, kid. She’ll probably faint again if she sees you here when she wakes up. Let me try to calm her down a little before you speak to her again, and next time, don’t mention something like that again, or I’ll really beat you up.”
Seth nodded, finding his father’s plan the wisest right now. Kissing his mother on the forehead, he looked at Nash and said: “Thank you, dad. Can you please at least tell her I love her?”
Nash nodded and watched as Seth disappeared from the room. Looking at his wife’s sleeping face, he sighed as he hid the ale bottle under the bed and came to sit next to her.
“Such a powerful ascended, and I still have to wipe his ass off like I did when he was just a little boy.”
