Great writing pulls a plethora of emotions and the characters gain life, and a kind of spiritual reality. Well done! When a character drivin story has side characters that pull on our empathy its pretty cool. Very few stories do I reread multiple times. But this has been and hopefully will continue to be one of my favorite. Along with The Dresden files. And Wheel of time. And a handful of others. Nat hasn’t historically been a reliable narrator and I’m usually ok with that, but it felt pretty bad here. He glossed over both “dangerous” enemies and terrain. He also didn’t describe the groups condition while handling these or what they might’ve thought the huge structure was(they really didn’t have any guesses after how long they’ve been on the floor?). All in all it was surprising to come back to the group completely spent and a companion dead. I apologize for not appearing appreciative of the near daily chapters, but this bothers me.

Yeah, i think that was a response to my comment about speculating it was going to be Maya. My counter was that sometimes the lesson is that life isnt fair and shit happens. Also i know this is a story, but there doesnt need to be a lesson for someone to be taken from you.

Liss did not refuse the title, she was of the pride subclass, so the only way to become one was to slay the current ruler of Pride, the strongest being in the system. She tried and failed.

If anyone is wondering 5 question marks is level 600 to 749. Which is when someone can become an absolute although I'm pretty sure it's not automatic just like champions. 6 question marks is 750 to 899 which is when one can become a ruler. 900+ no idea if there are beings beyond that, mabye pride is just before level 900 or he's beyond it and hasn't gotten another title yet. Lissandra was probably at least level 700+ mabye even in the ruler range but refused the title for some reason.

There is going to be some crazy plot armor shenanegans taking place for all of the group members to survive the next hour. A guy posted last chapter about there being no reason for any teammates to die at this point, but someone going down here would be a lesson in caution that seems to be dearly needed for the gang. Lots of powerful dudes sitting on thrones lately. Maybe this encounter will help prepare Nat for Adrians throne tower. Definitely feel bad for the ferret even if it is a fake system floor creation. The way it wanted to trade stuff is similar to Nat and Savi's mind set of quid pro quo, yet still sacrificed itself saving Izzy. Very Sweet. They should trust Biscuits judgements more. Can't wait to see how this all plays out. Funny how there's less than an hour left on the floor. So much fun! Tftc!
