Actually, no, he didn't. Elian trapped the black mana with a spinning square cage of multilayered mana. Plus he created three Empyrean cubes, each one capable of destroying the entire region the 8th floor covers. He did all of this quite effortlessly, in just a few seconds. What else does the guy need to do to get your attention :D

Anyone that can deal with the black mana is probably worth paying attention to. Always had a feeling we’d see that guy again. I do like the little end of the chapter where we are reminded of how he doesn’t like waiting.

I like that idea. Probably more of an accidental benefit for Elian, since he's not a Ruler and doesn't have direct influence over the floors. Or he bargained with Envy to add in a filter he could use to scan for helpers?

So do you reckon its quite rare for someone to have the capabilities to be assigned as Elian's assistant in the 8th floor? Perhaps current Elian uses it as a measure to test for potential assistants. Like this batch is all people who were in the same position as Nat in their tutorial in the last 100 years.

Wait, so Elian the mana professor from eight floor is the Magi? That's kinda surprising. I was expecting it to be someone more ancient for how renown they are. Still, pretty cool that we'll get to meet him - another Mana enjoyer can't be too bad. A part of me expects him to berate Nat for being late lol. I like the contextualization of the fight, and also that other people are paying attention to the Tutorial. It makes sense as well. If existing alliances want to include new planets the Tutorial will be a good indicator of power. I can't wait to see how famous Nat will become at the end of his run. Are there betting rings where you can bet on attendees? Seems like something Ruby would set up to scam people out of money. Nat's first official order as the guild master of Primordial Knights should be to force every member to preach the word of how scummy the Ruler of Diligence is.
