Super Smash Mates closed Alpha
🕑 Added 2020-04-24 21:14:43 +0000 UTCToday I'm finally releasing the closed Alpha for Super Smash Mates!
Super Smash Mates is a Super Smash Bros inspired game where the purpose is to knock a player off of a floating platform. The more a player gets hit, the more knockback they get, and the higher the explosion when they are done getting flung in a direction. There's also a bunch of items that help you fulfill these goals, and different classes are coming soon.
Above you can see a 1v1 match I did with Sequacious, which shows a more technical side of how it can be played. If you want to see the absolutely glorious mess it can create, check this video out https://www.twitch.tv/videos/601417165?t=00h04m37s of the Alpha opening tournament on my network.
This is still a very early version of the plugin, but it is already one of my favorite Minigames. To set it up, you will need the following:
- A Minecraft server dedicated to running this plugin - can't be run parallel to other gamemodes like Survival
- Multiverse or similar world management system
- CleanRoomGenerator or similar world generator to generate a void world (a world with no blocks) for map construction
- WorldEdit is recommended to store backups of your maps in schematic files, just in case
- Set up each arena in its own world by following the example config in the arenas folder. Each arena needs its own .yml file where the contents match those of the example arena.
- Citizens is recommended for running commands on interact. The commands are simply /enter [configArenaName] and /leave
- There are no permissions as of right now
In the attachments, you'll find not just the .jar, but a bunch of premade worlds and premade configs for those worlds. In theory, all you need to do is add Multiverse-Core and properly import the worlds for the game to be playable as it currently is on my network (again, Citizens recommended but not mandatory).
