🕑 Added 2023-04-19 03:53:50 +0000 UTCThis festival has been a bit of a slog; lonely and hard work to get the show up to a standard I like at night, while minding Laser during the day. Not really socialising but aware in a depressing way that I’m working alongside people who have been gigging regularly and working on their shows during the day.
On the bright side, I’m really proud of the show now. On the downside, ticket sales have been a mare, and it took a solid two weeks of embarassing fumbling to get the work good.
Then last night as I was walking home from the show (fifteen minutes walk each way really feels like the only time I get to drift in the day), feeling slightly like the end of the festival is approaching without much to show for it, and meditating on whether to reply to a particularly offended piece of hate email, I was tapped on the shoulder and turned around to find this nice person, whose girlfriend made them show me this “only the unfinished can contain the infinite” tattoo, and made my work feel worthwhile again.

Hate emails - boo; friendly street interactions by happenstance like it’s the 19th Century - yay!
I wonder if this person spends a lot of time explaining that this tattoo is from a standup comedy show despite being a deep philosophical observation and not particularly funny.
