This was amazing! I feel like I got to know Sakura and Hiro better, especially reading about his bed-wetting and nightmares because of his trauma. I wonder why he has a strong connection with turtles, does he see himself as one, or learn about them as a kid and became fascinated?

I really want to know why Hiro likes turtles so much? Does he have an inner child? It obviously means a lot to him for some reason.

It was very interesting to read!! We learn more about Hiro mental health and how he tried to be a good father and husband despite all that. It shows all the complexity of this subject (mental health) and how they are no black or white in the world... We better know why turtles are important

How interesting! I imagined Hiro being very excited to be a dad and absolutely ADORING Sakura’s pregnant belly. But then when he realizes his children are actually their own people with their own personalities and attitudes, I imagine he found being a father was a lot harder than he thought it would be. Especially with his inability to regulate his emotions and his other mental health issues. Then he just switched from being a loving father and guide to being a sadistic protector. In both instances he is fathering the best way he knows how. His character is so complex and heartbreaking. Thank you so much for sharing and for this story that opens up so much conversation regarding severe mental health!
