Middle Grade Graphic Novel!!
🕑 Added 2025-04-09 18:57:36 +0000 UTCHey all! I am so pleased to announce that I am in conversation with Scholastic to start working on a middle grade graphic novel! This is in the very early stages (like I havenโt even made a proposal) BUT I am SO BEYOND EXCITED!!! ๐ฑ๐โจ๐
I have been deep diving into my not so great middle grade years (12-14 yrs old) looking for inspiration. I plan on focusing the book on my struggles with an eating disorder, depression, anxiety, bullying, neglect and divorce.
To be honest, there are parts of my childhood that are simply too painful for me to include in a book like this, but I do want to deep dive into hard topics that kids can relate to.
Canโt wait to share more with you all as it unfolds! ๐ฅฐโค๏ธ
PS: Here is what my thumbnails for the look like (I fully fleshed out this comic sequence to see what it might look like for the book)

Congrats, hope the book deal works out! Love the detail of the eye stars in this, where they fade as realization dawns. Subtle, but very powerful. Adds a lot to the feelings of the moment.
