Shadowfang Went Missing
🕑 Added 2025-01-13 18:35:47 +0000 UTCShadowfang escaped two days before Christmas Eve and was stuck outside for 2 rainy, cold December days. We were worried sick, and unsure if he would ever come back.
Christmas Eve at 9pm we heard a little meow at the door! A Christmas miracle! He was so skinny and covered in small cuts/punctures.
We concluded he got stuck under a bramble bush (we have a lot of blackberry bushes where we live). We don’t know how long he was under there, but my guess is the majority of the time he was gone. He clearly hadn’t eaten and was shaken by the experience.
To conclude the story, he now wears an AirTag 24/7. And although we don’t allow him outside, if he ever escapes again we will know exactly where to pick him up ❤️
Here’s Shadow and Ignorant Duck snuggling after the incident:

So glad he came back!! A door being left open when my pets are home and I’m not is like my worst fear! ❤️

Awww! One day I came home to find the front door WIDE OPEN D= which luckily seemed to be purely oversight, not a break-in, and the cats got out and while two of them were used to it and normally got out and came back, one (Gabriel) had never been outside since we rescued him and he vanished for many days... ...until he just showed up in the garage late one night like nothing had happened =D little punk! Omg so scary!!! I’m so glad he’s back! My sister-in-laws cat got outside on Christmas night and luckily she came back the next morning! Something must have been in the air calling them out ☹️

I'm so sorry. Our silly ginger cat did that to us a couple of times. It's agonizing. I'm so glad he's back with commander banana to support him!

Lost two of my cats (one I found again after 3+ years), it's the absolute worst, feeling so helpless and not knowing... So glad he came back <3

Agreed ❤️ Thanks Praxis!

That is so funny! Commander Banana is absolutely destroyed, and I’m torn about getting Shadowfang a new one 😂

Void cats are so hard to spot! We just desperately walked around and called his name out ❤️

Thank you Jenny 🥰❤️

He is such a dork 😂 Let’s just say we don’t worry about him escaping, I don’t think he knows where the front door even is 😂😂

It is such a terrifying/helpless experience when your pet is missing g!

Glad he came home! My black dog ran away for like 20 minutes and I was crying my eyeballs out when she came back. She felt so bad scaring me like that. So now our backyard is fenced in so she’s safe.

Poor Shadowfang, I'm glad he found his way back. Ducky is such a funny cat, I love how he's laying with his booty up in the air and his belly alllll the way out 😆🥰

Whew! I can barely tell if my black cat is laying in her favorite black bed; I'd never considered losing her to the dark of night. So glad he is back! 🖤
