New Artwork of a forest island
🕑 Added 2024-08-04 14:49:19 +0000 UTCHey everyone! This forest island in the Bay of Menehil has had towers on it for ages. Older folks still know it as "Turtle Island" because of it's form. The tower you see on the left was actually the first one there, it belonged to a writer who appreciated the solitude of the island. It is rather old and not habitated now - his decendant, a young writer, has built the bigger tower with the help of her parents and a fisherman who lives on the island.
As she is a writer as well, she enjoys the solitude (similar to her great grandfather) and likes to walk around in the forest. Yet from time to time, she can be seen leaving the island and going out into the world to go on adventures, as all artists must also see and experience new things in order to come up with new ideas. People say she's quite handy with a sword by the way, so her parents don't worry too much about her going into the wilds.
This piece almost didn't come together for me. I'll be honest with you, I'm trying to be positive in most areas of my life - art has found a weak point though :) I even thought about not posting it here nor on social media. As you can see though, I've changed the clouds in the end again, and went back to bring in some new colors in the foreground. I kind of like the piece now actually, all the more since it reminded me to just push through sometimes and not just immediately move on to a next piece.

Thank you for sharing about your process. Negativity around your own creations is not unknown to me, so itโs nice to find some recognition. Your pieces all seem so confident :) I especially like the foreground perspective in this one, and the house with chimney.
