August 2022 Progress Report

I think I should preface this with a personal life update. Earlier this month my partner (both in love and creativity) Sam had a family emergency on my partner’s side of the family. His father is a type two diabetic and has been in rehab for the last couple of months but his insurance company rejected to pay for any more rehab. So with no place to go Sam allowed him to stay in our home while things got sorted out. This was done while Sam’s mother (the homeowner) was away in Britain for a wedding on vacation so when she returned she was… not happy! Needless to say it’s been a stressful month for everyone involved.
As of writing things have settled down since Sam’s father was approved for Medicaid and is back in the hospital and going to receive the appropriate assistance for his condition. Still, stuff is to be worked out and Sam is working on that, and I do NOT blame him for this, has left him unable to help me as much on Repurpose as before.
For reference, Sam is the one who edits voice audio, does writing (currently on Noel), and script editing and with how hectic life has been during the last stretch of production for his health it would probably be better to limit the workload to co-writing the last bit of Noel’s route with me and I deal with the rest.
This may mean I have to delay the game by another month or two.
Originally I wanted to have been done with programming and move on to finalizing artwork for the end-of-September release buuuut even now I feel like I’ve been spreading myself thin to just get what I currently have done.
Okay, okay, enough personal venting time for the actual report!

I love the cast equally… but Rosita and DJ Roadkill are routes I’m especially excited for people to play. It was very purposeful of me to release the last build with only Kalei, Ramon, and Mitts since DJ, Rosita, and, eventually, Noel is where alot of the game’s true story and lore make itself apparent. There are crumbs of it Kalei/Ramon/Mitts route but I feel to understand Utopia, Hell, and the afterlife in general it’s the Limbo-centric stories that tell the most.

Anywho… I’m sleepy I’m going to get a few hours of sleep before seeing if I can implement DJ Roadkill’s (raw) audio files into their route so I can get a build out. If not I’ll release a build with only Rosita and Irene’s paths implemented. Kim did such a great job on DJ’s lines I feel their route ought to be experienced with atleast their performance!
I’ll be away in Texas from September 1st-11th for a convention (San Japan) and spend to time with my family but then its straight back to work. Thank you for reading and understanding!
