Time for the monthly progress report with you host me, Eros.
Today I’ll touch up on:

Art
I’ve thumbailed all the CGs for Kalei’s route! I’ve omitted Ch.3 and the bad ending for story spoilers. Shame, because I really like how those two are plotting out to appear the most.
On top of that, I’ve thumbed Rosita and DJ’s routes but those are a lot rougher and incomprehensible to look at.
Example:
For Kalei’s rough thumbnail I mainly just blocked out the important shapes (Kalei’s body, wings, and paper) before moving on to the next thumbnail. This is about what the other’s rough thumbs look like and I’d rather show em once I’m further into the process.
I wanted to have been further into the Kalei’s CGs this month but as I’ll explain in “Life Stuff” it was pretty impossible.
Writing
The main 6’s scripts are pretty much done! Just some proofreading and editing before they’re ready to be imported in-game.
We took a pause on Faye to polish up the main 6’s routes but we roughly have half of her final chapter done! I’m very proud of our head writer for all the work she and I have put into the writing for the game.
Programming
It’s always a little difficult to explain programming since it doesn’t make sense to most people in comparison to just looking at art. But, basically, our head programmer Yin has been making great strides with automation that importing the scripts to gm2 much easier to read and polish than before!
Life Stuff
I really wanted to hit the ground running this month with having Kalei’s CGs at least inked…
Buuuuut over Christmas Sam and I got infected with covid :S
Sam got it worse since she was basically bedridden for days while I mostly got a bad case of congestion. Still, it really sucked and I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if we weren’t vaccinated.
Do we have to get the booster if we already got covid at that? Like the antibodies are already there now i think?
We got better and were within CDC guidelines okay to travel so we got to enjoy a nice little 10 day long vacation with my parents in Texas. It was nice and it helped me feel refreshed to get back to work again!
So February… that’s when I hit the ground running!
Splitting the game
What, what’s this mean??
Basically, since the game is a lot bigger than I had originally anticipated we’re splitting it into two parts!
Part 1 will include, Ramon, Kalei, DJ Roadkill, Mitts, Rosita, and Noel (Irene is a maybe) which we plan to get out by the summer
Part 2 will contain the rest of the game which includes Irene (if she didn’t make it into part 1) Faye and Cherubim. Maybe Hordes gets a route? I might go back on earlier statements and just cut his ‘route’ out since I want the team to focus on the important stuff. This will be released in late fall.
Some might be disappointed but believe me, you’ll have plenty of stuff to go through with just Part 1. In total the main 6 + Irene (maybe) with a total scratching 200K words combining all the choices and endings! What fun thats 12 hours of playtime if your a completionist.
Part 2 wont be nearly as long but still needs a little more time to execute in a satisfying way.

Other
I, Eros/ResidentRabbit, will be doing streams again since showing the process of CG and asset making is a great promotion for the game so keep an eye out for those! I should really come up with a schedule other than just whenever… Maybe Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the afternoon so I have the motivation to wake up early? I’ll give specific times in the discord later this week.
Also, I’m confirmed for at least three conventions this year, but the ones that take place early this year I’m tentative on attending given the state of covid right now.
