One Piece: Desperate

***
A couple of months passed after my fight with Kaido, my injuries had already fully healed and I had come to a decision during that time.
The Yonko couldn't exist in the seas I sail.
I had to somehow get rid of them, but that was easier said than done. Because the Yonko also included their crews which were always close to them.
So initially, the only way I could get rid of a Yonko with 100% certainty was after getting rid of their crews. Having them around would only complicate things and any other plan would have the crew be a huge piercer that could poke holes in my plan.
Kaido's crew was the reason he was even alive now.
Laying down in my office, many thoughts came through. Dozens of plans were concocted, but none of them would work. I didn't have the manpower to fight a Yonko head-on, so I had to be careful about it.
Finally, an idea hit me and I picked up my Transponder Snail.

Within Wholecake Island, Big Mom laid on her huge couch made just for her. Grabbing a fistful of talking sweets she stuffed her mouth.
*munch* *munch* *munch*
A sense of euphoria hit her as the sweet nectar poured down her throat.
"Ahhhh~" she moaned. "This is so delicious~"
*purupurupuru*
Suddenly the transponder snail on a small table next to her rang out and she had a small chess piece soldier open it.
"Hello, is this Big Mom?" A familiar voice came from the other side.
Big Mom's smile widened maliciously. "Of course. Bear D. Max, the newest Admiral of the Marines. Usually, it is the World Government who contacts us, not the Marines."
She made some snide comments about the corruption within the World Government. But there was no reaction from Max, which bored her a little. "So, why did you call me?"
"I know you want the Germa 66 technology, I want to make a deal between us and you will have it." He explained with an emotionless voice.
Big Mom's smile widened. "Is that so? Then what is it that you want?"
Normally she wouldn't make a deal with Max under any other circumstances. But she wanted the Germa 66 technology. That would bring her one step closer to her dreams, it might even be the key she had been waiting for. Plus, everyone wanted to have their super soldier army, just imagining an army of Katakuris brought chills down her spine.
Though she didn't know if it was possible, she would get the smartest men on this side of the sea to work and improve the cloning technology.
"I want to have our families conjoined, I will marry one of your daughters." Max got straight to the point and didn't try to control the conversation like he usually does.
Big Mom waited a couple of seconds, acting like she was thinking about it. But she wasn't, instead, she already had a rough plan. Max and his crew would be killed at the wedding. She would get the technology and get rid of an annoying guy at the same time. It was a win-win situation for her. So the answer was obvious. "Sure, do you have anyone in mind? I would suggest Pudding, she is young and very pretty."
"That's okay with me." Max agreed immediately and didn't even try to pull a better deal. "But don't forget, we have an alliance now. So my enemies are your enemies now too."
"Mamamaa~" Big Mom laughed. "Of course, we are allies now. So things like that are a given."
Though she said that, in her mind, she was thinking of how to kill Max.

On Wano, a downed Kaido laid on the ground and breathed heavily with sweat flowing out of his body.
"Ugh…" he winced in pain and yelled out angrily. "Queen!!"
A round man with a cigarette in his mouth came in and nervously bowed toward his boss. "Kaido -sama, we are very close to a cure for the poison Max used. It's just that the substance is almost untraceable in the body-"
"Do it faster!" Kaido on the other hand didn't seem to have the patience to let him explain his excuses. "Or I will have all of your heads leave your bodies!"
"Y -Yes…"Queen nodded fearfully. Kaido usually was somewhat respectful to his top subordinates.
But he could see that Kaido was in pain and he would soon snap and kill someone. He just hoped that by then, it wouldn't be him.
Still, though, Queen was quite puzzled and unnerved by the nature of the poison Max had used. Not only had he used a poison that would be effective on Kaido, but it also had properties that made it hard to develop an antidote against.
Though there was another notion he didn't dare think. Max wanted Kaido to be weakened and this was all within his plans.
Because if it was so, then what would be Max's next move?
Queen walked out of the room Kaido was in and rushed towards the laboratory. "Hopefully this poison was only experimental and not something he can make in large doses. This… is getting worse…"
As he walked off, he didn't notice X Drake walking by and looking at him strangely.
"Bear D. Max?" Muttered X Drake silently. "That's interesting…"
He walked off, but he too had missed a bald old man with long earlobes standing head down from the ceiling, spying on him.
'As a ninja, it is my job to gather information useful to my lord.' - recited the old bald man in his mind.

In a dark room, in an undisclosed location, a dark figure stood as a recording of the conversation between Big Mom and Max played.
"I know you want the Germa 66 technology-...." said Max in the recording before the dark figure stopped the recording snail.
It then pulled out a vial from its pockets and looked at the vial of poison in his hand.
"Soon…" the dark figure muttered. "The time has almost come for him to die."

-Max POV-
After finishing the call with Big Mom, I smiled and looked at the transponder snail. Everything was falling into place.
At first, I contemplated having Big Mom fight Kaido with the Germa 66 technology as the prize. But I didn't want them to meet, and the Yonko had their sense of pride and might just decide to band together against me, and after killing me, they would share the Germa 66 cloning technology.
If they met, nothing was stopping them from allying. So I didn't want them to even see each other.
So this marriage plan was something like a fallback from all that. It was still dangerous, as nothing could be certain in life.
But now I needed to start making some big moves, no matter how my enemies decided to react.
The door to my room opened and Raynare came in. She had a box in her hand and opened it, revealing a white orange-like fruit with strange ripples on it.
"This is the one you were looking for," Raynare muttered and came to sit down on my lap.
I kissed her neck. She had been very useful during the Marineford War. Because while I and Negan fought, Raynare was collecting Devil Fruits through the battlefield. Due to us overshadowing her, she never was noticed too much.
So that had been a perfect job for her. Also, the Devil Fruit in the box was the Quake Quake Fruit, the strongest Paramecia Devil Fruit.

A/N: Big Mom has her own plan. Max has his own plan. The assassin has its own plan. X Drake has his own plan too, and the ninja have their own plans. Everyone who wants something has their own plan.
P.S: Also there was a reason Raynare didn't appear too much in the Marineford war. Some of you seemed to notice that in previous chapters, even though I tried to hide it during the time. She also was doing a couple more things at the time that will be explained later.
