….
Almost one full year has passed since I came to this world. I can't help it as a chill of excitement runs through my body as I look at the TV and the news in front of me.
The room around me is luxurious but someone. It had only minimalistic things, and it also has some photos that I took with football stars. This is my private apartment room in my Veela Company building. I don't care about any football stars, I just have the photos on here in case Batman comes to visit. That way he has some misinformation about me.
He is a good investigator, but not omnipotent, so he can be tricked. Even if it will be a little hard, though he still has no reason to investigate me in any way. But he will have some soon, after all, I am connected to Falcone. Even if lately I have been cutting ties with him and the public thinks that there is some bad blood between me and him.
Well, there is none, but I did convince Falcone that we should do something like this so my enemies approach Falcone and vice versa. We have a compromise now.
But in the end, I don't care about any of that. I just needed to cut ties with that man… and also with my family in Chicago. They need to have an 'accident'... but it needs to be a quiet one. There can't be any explosions or anything like that. I already have a fabricated background which is pretty good, sadly any childhood friend who would have known anything about me is dead due to a fire in which only I survived. That is another fabricated story to hide the truth.
I have so many of those that even I have a problem keeping them all in check. Thankfully, I have all the time needed to think if I enter the speed force.
"Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you all my long lost nephew. Bruce Wayne!" Annoyances Philip Kane, a man in his fifties who has a thin body and white hair. He looks way older than he is, he looks more like in his seventies. Still, Bruce Wayne has returned… meaning that Batman will soon make his debut.
Red Hood has been a recently well-known criminal, he is the future Joker. A madman so to say, but even if he is crazy, he is still easy to handle. I can use him… after all, he is still human, no matter how crazy.
Well, Red Hood is not a person… it's a whole gang of people, but amongst them is the future Joker. I don't plan to interfere with that event… unless they decide to rob one of my facilities… because then I am massacring the whole gang. But I will let him become crazy again, he is a great distraction for Batman, and later on the Justice League.
Wonder Woman should already be around now. I take a glass filled with ice tea and smirk as I see Bruce Wayne embarrassingly wriggle his way out of the press conference as fast as he could.
He probably doesn't want to be too public… he might want to build a shy public persona as that way he doesn't have to waste time with the press. I have done something similar, but I just paid out the news companies and had the news talk good about me. Even have them call me the modern Einstein, I have built this whole public persona of which I want to make humanity an intergalactic species.
Truly a good dream, in the one year that I have been here I have done the best that I could. I am already rich and would like to consider myself relatively powerful and I don't do any outright illegal activities, so the Justice League won't have to be too troublesome to me.
I can let them handle the villains while I just chill, lay back, and look at them fighting while sacrificing their lives away. I could become a hero myself, but no… in no way am I going to do that. It's simply too dangerous, this is no longer a comic book or a movie. And I know that there are many beings stronger than me, so I will have to be careful now.
This is the best for me, I now just need to find a way to get rid of this system and I will be relatively safe. After all, with my Speed Force, I can even move to other alternate dimensions if this one becomes too dangerous.
But the system has to go, that thing is too dangerous. I don't trust it and have no idea where it came from. It must also be connected to me in a way, it isn't physically, so it must be spiritually. Magic should teach me how to deal with that, but now I need to learn magic, even though I know the basics by now due to using the system.
Ahhhh… now I just have to spend the rest of my days boringly walking around while Pamela (Poison Ivy) and Dr. Freeze use their genius intellect to figure things out for me. Just the way I like things going.
Death will only come to a death seeker. I do not drive while drunk and have no enemies that would want to kill me. I am a coward, I admit that. But cowards survive while brave men die. I am not ashamed to admit that to myself.
Even with great rewards, some gambles are not worth taking at all if it risks your life.
This is the real world now, just thinking about how some beings exist brings chills down my spine. I am terrified… but I have to keep moving forward now.
I sigh and turn off the TV, there is no use in doing any more useless things now. I mist rush forward… in my cowardly way. Which is to make friends with some powerful people. People will be very important in the future.
I get up and go towards the kitchen, it is all refurbished and I even have cleaning robots. But they are not activated. This is the genius of Dr.Freeze and Pamela… they have truly outdone themselves in this company. I have even used magic to make Dr.Freeze's wife more responsive. This way it will show him that his research is having some success, so he will work harder for the company this way.
Of course, he is at the same roadblock that he was before. But hope is a powerful weapon. He is working so hard now that I doubt he has eaten anything but liquid nutrition… something that Pamela built. It gives the body just the needed amount of nutrients for work.
I can actually bring his wife back to life, but that would be counterproductive for me. As then my best worker would stop working as hard and spend his time with his wife, and after that, he might make kids… having to spend even more time with his family. That can't happen, he must work for me till he dies… hmmm… I should have Pamela built me some life-extending medicine.
I take an ice tea bottle from my fridge and pour it into my glass. I look at the dining table and see an already opened envelope. It is an invitation to the Welcoming party being held tomorrow by Bruce Wayne.
Heh… I guess I will soon meet Batman.

AUTHOR NOTE:
The MC is a little cowardly, but who wouldn't be in a world like DC… that place has monsters that have unimaginable power.
P.S: The MC also won't look for trouble. But ya know… he lives in Gotham. Also he really is playing mind games with Dr.Freeze...
