Her legs were next, ankles and knees lashed together until she could barely shift an inch. Finally, he sealed her mouth with layers of white tape, smooth and precise.
When Roxy stirred awake, confusion clouded her eyes. She saw Rudeus standing over her, holding her spellbook. She tried to shout, to stand—only to feel the ropes bite into her skin. Her muffled protests vibraled against the tape; her whole body trembled with shock and helplessness.
Rudeus flipped open the book. The page she’d been reading was titled Bondage Magic—forbidden arts of ancient witches, rare and dangerously powerful. Roxy’s eyes widened, a mix of alarm and reluctant awe.
Less than an hour later, Rudeus had mastered the spell. He untied the ropes with calm precision, peeling the tape from her lips. Roxy lunged for the book—but before she could grasp it, he incanted.
A ring of pale blue light flared beneath her feet. Magical cords snapped into place, coiling around her wrists, ankles, torso—tighter and more responsive than any rope. She thrashed; the bindings adjusted instantly, cinching or loosening in perfect sync with her struggles. Her gaze flickered between fury, fear, and unmistakable fascination.
Rudeus teased her with a smirk, tweaking the spell’s tension like a puppeteer. When she strained, the cords tightened; when she stilled, they eased just enough to keep her on edge. The night stretched on, filled with her muffled gasps, the faint glow of magic, and the strange, electric tension between dread and thrill.
Bound tighter than ever, gagged once more with a fresh strip of tape, Roxy’s eyes still burned—astonished, grudgingly impressed. This wasn’t child’s play. The ancient spell was alive on her skin, testing every limit of endurance and awareness, while its caster watched, learning, and smiling.
