-------------------
Fang Yun looked at the earth behind the space vortex with a look of excitement. Originally, he thought it would still take a long time to see his hometown, but he never expected that a series of coincidences led to him encountering it so early.
The stronger he gets, the more Fang Yun is aware of his insignificance. Even with his current strength, it would take hundreds to thousands of years just to cross this universe, let alone jump out of it.
He hadn’t had the slightest clue on how to go back before. In fact, he didn’t even know how long it would take him.
First of all, he has to reach the peak of this universe before having the chance to leave it and search for other universes.
"I wonder if the giant turtle can lead me to the opposite universe?"
This thought suddenly appeared in his mind. At this moment, his heart couldn't stop pounding and he could no longer drive it out of his mind.
However, when he turned around, he discovered that the giant turtle was bleeding from his orifices. His eyes looked like they were about to pop out.
"This……"
Fang Yun was taken aback. He quickly flew to the side of the great turtle and looked at it with a look of concern. The latter’s voice suddenly appeared in his mind
"I... can't hold on anymore."
The moment his voice sounded, the space vortex in front of them disappeared all at once, restoring this space to its previous appearance. The space returned to its previous constant collapsing and recovering state.
"Haah, don't force it."
Fang Yun shook his head then left this place with the giant turtle. As he was leaving, he turned his head and looked at this place again before leaving resolutely.
The giant turtle’s eyes changed as he watched Fang Yun’s obvious reluctance and attachment to this chaotic space. He naturally sensed the emotional rollercoaster in Fang Yun’s heart.
Fang Yun and the giant turtle left, leaving only this constantly collapsing and recovering space.
When he returned to Aegis City, Fang Yun immediately ordered Nebula and the others to monitor that chaotic space. The strength of the giant turtle is insufficient now. It’s extremely difficult for it to even open that space channel, let alone send Fang Yun to that universe.
However, after the giant turtle grows strong enough, or he personally acquires the ability to open that space channel himself, he will go back.
"After so many years, I finally found a way back home..."
Fang Yun sighed internally. His heart was filled with anxiety and urgency. Even his heart that has been tempered through countless battles became insatiable.
He suddenly felt a little lucky. Fortunately, the giant turtle at this time did not have the strength to send him to that universe. In this way, he now has a long period to organize his mind and calm down his heart.
"My lord, we received a message from the Lord of the Izumo Empire."
Nebula's voice suddenly sounded from outside. Fang Yun quickly reacted and allowed him in. By now, he has mostly calmed down. It’s extremely hard to see any trace of emotional instability from the surface.
"What's the matter?"
Fang Yun directly asked as he watched Nebula walk in. The latter bowed to show his respect, then said.
"Your Excellency, the leader of the Izumo Empire sent us a message stating that they are willing to negotiate."
"They are the ones that want to make peace with us, why are they acting like we are the ones begging them?" Fang Yun shook his head and said,
"Don't care about them, just do whatever you want."
"Yes, my lord."
Nebula retired. Although Nebula no longer manages the entire Metaverse, he now seems like Fang Yun’s personal assistant. He is the one that conveys information or important messages to him.
Right after Nebula left, Fang Yun started ravenously devouring the energy ore and matter that was sent to him. In the past, he quickly got bored by the repeated action of devouring matter and energy, especially since they don’t have any taste.
However, he is full of motivation at the moment.
It wasn’t just him, even the giant turtle followed his lead and halted its journey around the Metaverse. Instead, it followed Fang Yun to constantly devour various objects.
On the other side, under the leadership of Luo Feng and the others, the Metaverse encroached the entire Gama Empire’s territory, driving the Izumo Empire out.
Since then, the true battle between the two superpowers started.
In fact, without counting Fang Yun, the Izumo Empire is much more powerful than the Metaverse league. After all, the number of their domain masters is dozens of times greater than that of the Metaverse.
But when the war between the two sides started, the fleet of the Izumo Empire unexpectedly fell to a disadvantage.
It wasn’t due to a problem of combat power, but more due to a mentality and morale problem. The Metaverse’s fleet fought bravely and didn’t shrink back. On the contrary, the fleet of the Izumo Empire showed mediocre performance.
Their domain masters didn’t even dare show most of the time, for fear of getting instantly killed.
There are too few enemy domain masters participating in the war, Luo Feng and the other three domain masters are enough to contain them. Moreover, although the Izumo Empire crushes the Metaverse in terms of high-level cultivators quantity, their quality is much lower than that of the Metaverse’s cultivators.
After the initial defeat, the Izumo Empire quickly mobilized another legion of cultivators and starships. The legion was mostly a private one belonging to the nobles and important figures of power.
The fleets on both sides were deadlocked again.
Time quickly passed, ten years later.
During these ten years, Fang Yun's power has grown a lot, surpassing the immortal king level and reaching the sage level. In terms of size alone, it has reached the range of light-years.
Furthermore, his perception of space has reached a higher level. This caused him to feel extremely excited. After reaching the next level, he is confident to personally enter that chaotic space and reach the other universe.
However, it’s becoming more and more difficult for him to evolve lately. It will take him at least a hundred years, possibly several hundred, to reach the next level.
After reaching such a realm, Fang Yun's desire to devour energy has decreased a bit. He decided to give himself some time off.
After leaving his territory, Fang Yun immediately called Nebula to inquire about the current situation.
He quickly learned that Luo Feng’s fleet was deadlocked with the Izumo Empire’s fleet at the border area.
