---------------------
"Huh, we’re already here."
Beside Fang Yun, Nebula heaved out a sigh of relief. He looked at the fortress ahead with a look of excitement on his face.
He had been dreaming of the day when they would lead a large fleet and completely crush this defensive line, and the day is finally here.
Back then, their four heavens were greatly embarrassed by the Gama Empire. They lost countless troops in order to resist the invasion of the Gama Empire.
It’s finally payback time.
"My lord, should we stop and take a break in order to prepare for the battle?"
Nebula turned his head and looked at Fang Yun. The latter pondered for a moment then shook his head.
"Let's go straight over. Such a defense line does not need us to treat it with such caution."
Although the war between the Gama Empire and the Izumo Empire has eased, that doesn’t mean it stopped.
Therefore, there are still few troops and battleships on this defensive line. This place is on the edge of the Gama Empire, far away from the battlefield after all.
Even if they secretly placed some powerful cultivators here, as long as Fang Yun is there, there’s no need to worry.
Nebula naturally knew this, so didn’t have any objection. He called the lieutenants behind him and led the fleet forward.
He decided to personally participate in this battle. Fang Yun looked at the leading Nebula.
His current strength has reached the cosmic peak, making him a relatively powerful cultivator.
In this defensive line, the highest combat power should also be cosmic level. Of course, even if there is a hidden domain master level, there is no need to worry too much, because, besides Nebula, there’s Luo Feng.
Needless to say, Luo Feng's strength is very high. He is a true domain master. Although he has just stepped onto this level, he is already a mature cultivator. In fact, he can even fight cultivators beyond his rank.
So even if there is a domain master-level powerhouse on this defensive line, he is enough to deal with the arising problems.
As Nebula and the rest flew towards the defensive line, they were soon discovered.
In an instant, a warning signal spread across the defensive line, then one ship after the other gathered in the direction opposite to the fleet.
"Fire!"
Seeing those runaway ships, Nebula immediately gave this order. All of a sudden, the battleships behind him opened fire one after another, sending all sorts of laser and artillery attacks towards the opposite defensive line.
However, almost at the same time, the opposite ships and fortresses constituting the defensive line launched a counterattack, sending various laser beams and other energy attacks.
"Block this wave of attacks."
Nebula ordered the cultivators to build a defense wall in front of the fleet, intercepting the majority of the attacks and weakening a large part of the rest.
As for the fish that slipped through the net, they would also be intercepted by the starships' defense system.
Although Nebula used only a small part of the fleet to launch an attack on the defensive line, they managed to defeat them easily. Despite their quick reaction and gathering, the enemy defense line disintegrated almost too quickly.
After all, there aren’t many high-level cultivators in this defense line. Without the interception and assistance of high-level cultivators, the defensive line struggled to resist, slowly getting worn out.
The defensive line before the war might have been a decent challenge for them, but due to the war, it’s much weaker than before.
"My lord! We can’t stop them at all!"
On that defensive line, the adjutants who were in charge of observing the battle reported to the commander, however, the latter didn’t listen to them at all. He just kept sending orders to resist the enemy’s fleet to the death.
This group of intruders must be stopped! They must not be allowed on the territory of the Empire!
At the same time, the leader of the defensive line began to contact his superiors. After sending the report, the senior officials of the Gama Empire quickly learned about the invasion of the Metaverse.
In a splendid palace, Garan, the lord of the Gama Empire, sat on his throne, and under him were a group of cabinet members.
The cabinet is divided into elders and deacons, headed by the great elder. At this moment, the atmosphere in the palace was very solemn, no one was talking. Everyone’s expressions were quite ugly.
"Everyone, state your opinions and ideas."
At this moment, Jialan, who was at the forefront, suddenly spoke. He glanced at everyone and said again,
"Now the wild sub-universe that claims to be the Metaverse is actively sending troops to attack us. Everyone, what do you think should be done?"
"Your highness, the opponent's forces are very strong. There’s also a very strong existence behind them, we can’t fight against the Metaverse at this critical juncture, it’s better to seek peace."
"Absolutely not!"
Someone shook their head vigorously. After everyone looked at him, he quickly said,
"The hatred between us and this metaverse runs very deep, seeking peace is almost impossible"
"Furthermore, they just launched a war against our Gama Empire. The opponent’s momentum is at its peak. Furthermore, the strength of the outer defensive line is too weak, they can easily break through it."
"In this way, their momentum will rise even further. At that time, with great confidence, high strength, and a strong hatred against us, it would be impossible to seek peace."
"Third elder, what do you think we should do then?"
Suddenly, the king opened his mouth and said, looking calmly at the group of officials below.
The person known as the third elder groaned and said,
"We should form a powerful fleet some distance behind the defensive line, then use it to murder these guys."
After hearing his words, king Jialan didn’t immediately respond but looked at other people. However, almost all officials and elders had evasive eyes.
Their current situation is very bad. The Gama Empire is facing an unprecedented crisis. Many people disagree with the act of launching another war, but they don’t have any better solution. Others agree with the third elder’s idea and tactical arrangement.
However, no one spoke in the end, because they couldn’t find a better option.
"Hah..."
King Jialan sighed deeply. In the past, he actually had a foreboding of today's scene.
If these reckless officials and elders keep such aggressiveness, starting wars everywhere and keeping their thinking of resorting to violence first before diplomacy, their Gama Empire will be destroyed.
However, he never expected that their Empire would face such a situation so early. He didn’t even have the chance to react.
