Fang Yun also observed the Izumo Empire's troops through the spiritual imprint left in Luo Feng. Although it was only a spiritual imprint, it also possessed a certain perception ability.
Under his perception, the most powerful cultivator in this vanguard force should be the middle-aged general in front of the army. If there is no perception error, that man’s strength should be about late cosmic.
It”s normal for a vanguard force to have a cultivator of this level as the commander. After all, whether it is the Gama Empire or the Izumo Empire, they have few domain masters. At most 100.
In fact, it’s very shocking to send 7 domain masters at the same time on an expedition. This showed the Gama Empire’s determination to capture the Metaverse and its resources, almost launching an all-out war.
As a result, they misestimated the strength of Metaverse, causing great casualties.
Seven domain masters, almost a tenth of their top forces, fell in the Metaverse, greatly shrinking their power.
Fang Yun noticed that Luo Feng’s mental state gradually cooled down. He also noticed that the combat power of the enemy’s vanguard force isn’t too high.
Even if there was a conflict between the two sides, nothing would happen to him.
Upon thinking like this, Luo Feng glanced at his captain. The latter beckoned to him, then flew out in one direction, Luo Feng followed behind.
As Luo Feng and his company continued to advance, the other companies were also advancing quickly. They each had their own task, mainly to outflank or clash head-on with the enemy forces.
The battle started soon and ended sooner. There wasn’t any suspense. Luo Feng and the others easily dealt with the vanguard force.
He alone beheaded ten cosmic-level masters and made a big contribution.
Before coming here, Nebula told Luo Feng to not have any scruples and to try his best to go all out. This will not only cause him to quickly rise in the ranks but also greatly temper himself in battle and achieve an even higher level.
Of course, this will put him at great risk. After all, too much limelight will definitely attract others’ attention. In addition, as far as the hostile forces are concerned, they will certainly send troops to assassinate him.
However, despite the risk, Luo Feng chose to challenge himself and seek advantages for himself and his hometown.
Not only did Luo Feng perform brilliantly in this battle, but other people who came out of the metaverse also performed well.
Nevertheless, 13 of them had various degrees of injury, but fortunately, none of them were killed.
They have defeated the vanguard force of the Izumo Empire, but none of the Burning legion soldiers celebrated. In fact, the atmosphere was tenser than ever.
They all knew that the vanguard force is just a suicide squad sent to test their power and exhaust them. The main enemy forces are much more powerful.
If they can’t handle it, the Burning legion might fall here.
"Luo Feng, are you all right?"
Wang Meng, the captain of Luo Feng's company, walked next to him and asked with a deep voice. All the while looking at the dark space with a deep expression.
"I’m okay."
Luo Feng gently nodded, then smiled;
"Brother Meng, how are you? Can you recover in such a short period?"
He wondered whether this captain of his could recover before the next wave of attacks.
"Probably, but I don't know when the enemy will launch the next wave of attacks."
Wang Meng sighed, looking a bit sad.
Luo Feng glanced at his captain’s chest. There was a wound there. This is the wound he suffered while fighting against the enemy cosmic masters. It’s not a serious injury and it can’t threaten his life, but fighting with it will considerably hinder him, weakening his combat power.
Luo Feng didn't say much. In fact, he isn’t very familiar with the cultivators in his company, so naturally, he can’t produce a feeling of sympathy.
He knows exactly his identity and his position.
Wang Meng didn't speak anymore. Now, he needs time to rest and recover from his injuries as soon as possible.
Time quickly flew and one day has passed.
The atmosphere in the Burning Legion did not change the slightest, on the contrary, it became more solemn. If the opponent decides to launch a follow-up attack, then it’s likely to be within the next two days.
"Hahh.."
In a dark space, Luo Feng was meditating, absorbing the spiritual power flowing across the universe. This spiritual power is an omnipresent energy invisible to the naked eye and most detection equipment.
As he continuously absorbed it, his cultivation base continued to slowly increase.
"I wonder if the large forces of the Izumo Empire will attack this base?"
Luo Feng glanced at the distant space, and a trace of worry emerged in his heart. He could already imagine the large troops heading towards this place, preparing to launch the decisive battle.
This is not to say that he is afraid of the large forces of the Izumo Empire, on the contrary, he is excited to fight against them.
His main concern is his companions. During such a large-scale and dangerous battle, he can’t even guarantee his safety, let alone his weaker companions. Many of them are likely to fall here.
Luo Feng had a similar experience in the past. At that time, there were more than two thousand of them, but in the end, only about 300 survived.
Many of his companions and friends that accompanied him for several years through countless grueling training and dangerous situations disappeared.
Unfortunately, the things that he feared still happened.
His watch suddenly vibrated, after which an emergency message sounded.
"emergency assembly!!"
"A large force is coming!"
After receiving the message, Luo Feng didn’t hesitate and headed straight towards the company’s gathering location.
At the same time, he was worried about his companions internally. They’re about to engage in a big war next. Everything is possible.
"Luo Feng, the large troops of the Izumo Empire are here."
When he came to the company, Luo Feng's captain said with a worried expression on his face.
In a battle like this, commanders and captains of high cultivation levels must be at the forefront of the battlefield. If they don’t do so, many problems might arise.
None of the cultivators in their company are willing to be used as cannon fodder, hence if he doesn’t take the lead, problems might arise.
After all, the legion is filled with cultivators from all around the Gama Empire, it’s not a disciplined army.
With the retreat of the soldiers in his company, other companies might be affected. In this way, due to the domino effect, it’s likely to affect the entire legion.
A company captain like him can’t afford the results, so even if it is life-threatening, he must go forward without the slightest hesitation.
