------------------------
Byrne looked at the display screen in front of him with bloodshot eyes. Blue veins bulged from his forehead. The holographic screen in front of him is showing the status of their fleet, and it’s not pretty.
The spaceships around the giant serpent were flying around like frightened birds and beasts, and this chaos and destruction is rapidly spreading to the surrounding spaceships.
Soon, from a small area, it spread to a large area, and in that area, all spaceships were frantically fleeing.
Only the battleships that have a considerable distance between them and the giant serpent dared to attack it.
Unfortunately, these kinds of attacks are nothing more than tickling for the giant serpent. At the moment, it’s chasing the fleeing spaceships around, devouring them one by one.
In just a short period, the giant serpent devoured almost 500 spaceships.
A large blank area was formed around the giant serpent, creating a huge gap in the fleet’s formation.
The giant serpent is wildly galloping in the gap, devouring the fleeing spaceships, and this gap is rapidly expanding as the spaceships on both side are quickly retreating, fearing that the serpent will come and eat them/
In this way, a huge gap formed in the middle of the fleet, separating it into two parts and breaking the defensive formation.
"Damn it! That monster wants to break our fleet! We must no allow it to do as it pleases!"
In the left half of the fleet, Hua Rong, the commander of the fifth heaven’s fleet, stood there. He also clearly saw the giant serpent cutting their fleet in half.
Hua Rong is feeling very upset at this moment.
The right half of the fleet has at least 100,000 ships, and it’s getting chased after by the giant serpent now. If they don’t do anything, the 100,000 ships might truly be devoured by the serpent.
"Lin Ming, lead your fleet to stop that damn beast!”
Hua Rong hurriedly issued this order. Soon, a part fleet broke away from the main force, then headed towards Fang Yun’s location.
When Fang Yun saw that 5000 battleships separated from the main fleet and headed towards him, he couldn’t help but smile. This fleet is finally planning to counterattack.
When the five thousand battleships came near Fang Yun, they launched a fierce attack, but apart from causing some small injuries, the small fleet didn’t cause any damage.
“Roar!!”
Releasing an earth-shattering roar, Fang Yun’s huge head sprang towards the small fleet, devouring many battleships on his way.
Fang Yun's current body length is 30,000 kilometers. With such a huge body size, the fleet has to keep a minimum distance of 10,000 kilometers to hide from Fang Yun’s attacks.
If it’s less than this distance, Fang Yun can easily extend his head and devour them. Unless the spaceships have an instant light speed acceleration.
“Hum!!”
Fang Yun abandoned the left half of the fleet and flew towards the 5000 battleships small fleet. While moving forward, he used “Life Plunder”.
Soon, the dozens of ships ahead floated quietly, flying along the preset route, but no one was controlling them anymore. All the people inside have become mummies without any trace of life.
Before the other ships could react, Fang Yun slammed into them at light speed, destroying another 100 spaceships.
The small fleet that was sent to intercept Fang Yun couldn’t do so at all. It could be said that they slightly hindered him at best.
But after Fang Yun showed his tyrannical strength, they fell into deep fear. Their mission is no different from suicide. They are basically using their lives to win time for the coalition fleet.
In an instant, these five thousand ships became a mess. There was no formation to be seen. Without a formation, they looked even more unbearable. Fang Yun easily devoured hundreds of ships without facing considerable resistance.
At the same time, he destroyed thousands of ships.
In just a short span of time, the fleet that was sent to hinder Fang Yun lost 2000 ships. This is a fleet that could easily kill him when he first arrived in the eighth heaven, but now it doesn’t have the power to fight back in front of him.
His growth is considerable.
However, their sacrifice is not without the slightest effect. The cut-off fleet is already getting organized.
"Boom!"
Fang Yun turned around and continued to fight against the coalition fleet.
The peripheral ships madly attacked Fang Yun. At the same time, they started fleeing. This is what happens in a fleet that loses cohesion. If the bottom and mid-level soldiers lose confidence and trust in the leaders of the fleet, then that fleet isn’t far from falling apart.
"Damn! these bastards should go to hell!"
Inside the command ship of the Fifth Heaven, Hua Rong’s chest was full of fury as he watched the outer battleships scurry up upon encountering the giant serpent.
“Roar!”
Fang Yun chased the fleeing spaceships around, frantically devouring them. At the moment, his bio-energy points have reached 500 billion, but he still needs to eat a lot to reach the required 900 billion.
It’s worth mentioning that his reputation value has increased again, reaching 1.1 trillion points. Fang Yun finally has enough skill points to upgrade his latest skill, “Space Devour”.
This skill can help him devour matter in a large area.
“Space Devour” requires 350 skill points for the first upgrade, and for each subsequent upgrade, it needs 50 more skill points.
"I still need more reputation value."
Fang Yun thought internally, but for the time being, he doesn’t have a chance to greatly increase his reputation value. He is almost back to the previous point where he doesn’t have a viable way to greatly increase his reputation value.
"Let’s try it first, what is the power of this space devour."
After upgrading this skill, Fang Yun felt an itch in his heart. He couldn’t help but point at a certain part of space, then activate this skill.
“Boom!”
Suddenly, the space in front of the giant serpent shook then crumpled like paper. Shrinking to a small point. All of the spaceships, debris, dust, and other objects in that area shrunk along with space and turned into a small point.
Immediately after, the giant serpent leaped forward and devoured the small point.
Because swallowing prey in this way won’t increase bio-energy, but will rather store it in his stomach, Fang Yun doesn’t plan to use this skill too much.
However, this skill might not be very practical, but it’s certainly very eye-catching and powerful. Anyway, just using it once shocked and exerted great pressure on the fleet, making them dare not fight against him head-on.
After all, more than 300 battleships were swallowed by him using this skill.
Comments
To be honest, I'm not sure. I'm translating as I'm reading. He might meet them again at the end of the novel though;
Does he ever see the humans again?
Well, they are similar, but devour the heavens is an attack type skill and space devour is a storage type. At least, this is the author's intention, but to be honest, I think that space devour is a bit redundant.
The Void
How exactly is ‘Space Devour’ different from ‘Devour the Heavens’?
I can see him devouring armed human controlled planets and using them as mobile weapons when the humans can use him as a mobile base
