Hearing the words of elder Kidd, Payne smiled bitterly. Is the situation on the intergalactic battlefield really that easy to stabilize?
It’s been a while since the start of the war. Apart from the domination at the beginning, their situation is getting worse and worse in the Milky Way. They encountered a lot of resistance.
Firstly, they were caught off guard by their fierce counterattack, and secondly, the SkyRiver Empire has a home-field advantage. They are now slowly and steadily recovering their lost territory, driving their army back.
Their original plan was to send most of their Norton-class planet destroyers into the intergalactic battlefield and sweep the SkyRiver Empire like a thunderstorm, but they never expected that they would suffer from an attack in their home. Not to mention sending most of their Norton-class battleships, they can’t even defend themselves now.
However, Payne and the others didn’t speak again after expressing their opinion. In this meeting, that’s the most they can do, the final decision-making power is in the hands of the elders.
Moreover, what Elder Kidd said is reasonable. They attacked the Milky Way galaxy because of That lord's order and the reason why their Supreme Blue Empire has Norton-class battleships is due to the generosity of that lord.
The most important thing is that one of the requirements for keeping the Norton-class battleships is to help that lord to conquer the Milky Way galaxy.
Not only that, the Milky Way galaxy is just the beginning, they need to conquer the nearby galaxies as well.
However, in this grand plan, they must take everything step by step. That’s why they chose to conquer the relatively weak Milky Way Galaxy first.
Unexpectedly, it seems that they can’t even handle the weakest galaxy in this area.
"Okay, let’s just do what Elder Kidd said."
Murray finally made a decision, then started discussing which 15 Norton-class battleships to send to the Intergalactic Battlefield.
After discussing for an hour or so, there was finally a result.
"Well, let's stop here today."
Murray rubbed his eyebrows and said."Now that the battleships that will be sent to the intergalactic battlefield have been selected, John, Payne, you will inform the captains of those fleets later."
"Yes, elder."
John and Payne stood up quickly and replied.
The hearts of John, Payne, and their subordinates were very heavy. Their strength wasn’t much, but they are going to reduce it even more. In their opinion, this is a very unwise move
Just when everyone was about to disperse, the sound of knocking sounded from the conference room door.
"Come in."
After a pause, Murray said to the person outside.
A staff member came in and glanced at the people in the conference room. Then said to Murray.
"Elder, our instruments have detected space fluctuations near the imperial capital, then a super large life form appeared. It’s suspected to be the serpent-pathogen."
"What, that monster is back again? At this time?"
After hearing the news, Murray's hands trembled.
At the beginning, the reason he dared to agree with Elder Kidd’s proposal, dispatching a part of their manpower according to the king’s instructions, is because the Great Serpent hadn’t appeared in a long time. He assumed and even prayed that it left, and it’s with this mentality that he agreed to send part of their manpower.
However, the great serpent directly appeared in front of them; he can’t ignore its existence anymore.
"Elder..."
John, Payne, Odyssey, and Oliver looked at Murray. Although they didn’t speak, everyone understood what they wanted to express.
"Damn it!"
Even Murray couldn't help but curse loudly at this time.
"What kind of hatred does this monster have with our Supreme Blue Empire? Why is it always staring at our Imperial Capital without letting go?"
He really couldn't figure out, shouldn't pathogens of this level go cause trouble to a more advanced Empire, why is it always staring at them?
There is indeed some enmity between them, but it’s nothing more than the usual skirmish. Does it want to destroy their entire Supreme Blue Empire just due to some conflict?
When Murray was feeling the ups and downs of life, everyone was staring at him. As time passed, Murray didn't know what to do.
The oppression caused to him by the giant serpent is too strong, he knew that he couldn’t easily send out their forces now, otherwise, the Imperial would suffer from the ravages of that Serpent-pathogen.
However, they wouldn’t be able to provide an explanation for the King then.
They need more manpower to break the standstill in the Milky Way Galaxy.
Although he might look like an unattainable existence to most people in this Empire, he is actually disposable to the King. He can be replaced anytime.
Murray faced a great struggle. A struggle between keeping his position and life, and guarding the economic center of the galaxy and the lives of countless citizens.
Finally, after a while, Murray made a decision.
"Elder Kidd, go and explain the situation to the king. Currently, the imperial capital can’t send manpower; otherwise, we won’t be able to stop the Great Serpent."
Murray raised his head and said to Kidd.
Kidd's mouth twitched, then sighed. He didn't refute Murray's words. At the beginning, he also held a gambler mentality, hoping that the Great Serpent will not show up when the Imperial Capital has the least forces.
Unfortunately, he lost the gamble before even the start of the game. Now that the great serpent had shown up, they can’t send any manpower away. Otherwise, the Imperial Capital will be destroyed as Murray said.
Although the king is not in the imperial capital now, all the members of the council of elders are, including their family members. If there aren’t enough forces to defend the Imperial Capital, none of them will have a good fate.
"Ooof……"
After hearing Murray's order, Payne and the others all heaved a sigh of relief, but they were also extremely worried. In fact, they even wanted to suggest giving up on the intergalactic battlefield.
It's a pity that they don’t have this power. Even the elders have no way to change this. If they dare to do so, there will be no guarantee about their positions or even lives.
In the distant space, Fang Yun looked at the nine huge planets in the distance. He didn’t deliberately hide, allowing them to detect his presence.
So as a result, a fleet could be seen approaching from the distance.
What came was a fleet composed of 20 Norton-class battleships, 5 Battlestars, and many weaker battleships and cargo spaceships.
Fang Yun just glanced at them from the corner of his eyes, then focused on the nine planets again.
Now he is no longer interested in these fleets. He is planning to destroy these nine planets, causing a huge disturbance across the Supreme Blue Empire.
"Hmph, I wonder if these guys will continue thinking about attacking the Milky Way then?"
Fang Yun thought maliciously. He suddenly remembered that Downy guy that attacked him in the Milky Way. Fang Yun wondered if that guy is still in the Milky Way or already back. He can’t wait to repay these injuries that guy caused to him.
