"Fire!"
Inside the control center of the command ship, once Payne saw that their space fighters teams have locked the golden behemoth, he angrily gave this order.
Under his order, over ten thousand space fighters activated their laser cannons, sending countless laser beams towards the golden behemoth.
When these laser beams approached the golden behemoth, the surrounding space started distorting, deflecting the trajectory of these laser beams.
Unfortunately, because these space fighters completely surrounded the golden behemoth from all sides, it couldn’t deflect all of the laser beams. From the 10,000 laser beams, more than 9000 were deflected to the side, almost destroying the space fighters in their way.
However, the remaining hundreds of laser beams continued moving towards the golden behemoth. Just as they were about to touch it, the golden behemoth’s giant body flashed, disappearing from that location.
When it reappeared again, it was already outside of the space fighters’ encirclement, right above them. Suddenly, its body started trembling at a certain frequency.
The space fighters in the vicinity suddenly felt that an unusually strong magnetic field appeared in the surrounding space, completely destroying their electronic instruments.
More than 500 space fighters couldn’t control their trajectory and either collided or shot each other.
"It’s indeed stronger than the last time I saw it."
After seeing the collision between the Golden Behemoth and the Supreme Blue Empire’s fleet, Fang Yun came to this conclusion. This golden behemoth is several times stronger than last time, infinitely close to the fifth level.
It should be due to the incredibly large number of believers it developed in this area.
"The reason why this golden behemoth was able to develop at such a speed should be due to the remoteness of this place and the distraction of the Empire."
Fang Yun analyzed carefully. He felt that this guy should have infected a lot of intelligent creatures in order to have such a large improvement.
He knows that pathogens have few ways to increase their strength. Apart from devouring powerful creatures and other pathogens. The fastest way to increase their strength is to increase the number of believers and gather a large amount of spiritual power.
Especially at the critical moment of upgrading from one class to the other. Believers can greatly help them in the process of upgrading. The way to do so is simple, it can extract the vitality and lifeforce of those believers.
Those infected whose vitality had been deprived will either fall into a coma or tragically die, but these believers will feel that it’s a great honor to become a part of their god. This is the extent of their brainwashing.
This is why so many civilizations fear and hate pathogens. They are simply the cancer of the universe.
While Fang Yun was pondering internally, on the battlefield, the battle between the golden behemoth and the Supreme Blue Empire’s fleet has reached a white-hot stage.
Streams of light continued to explode in that area, lighting the surrounding dark space.
"This guy seems to be quite afraid of Norton-class planet destroyers."
He noticed that whenever a Norton-class planet destroyer attacked him, he would immediately avoid it. Only in the face of Victory-class and Imperial-class battleship did he chose to resist head-on.
Another point to pay attention to is that he chooses hard resistance only when he has a chance to counterattack and destroy a battleship.
At other times, he was constantly evading those laser attacks.
"In the face of ten Norton-class battleships, even the Golden Behemoth is having a hard time."
Fang Yun shook his head. Although this guy has grown in strength, he still couldn’t do much in front of ten Norton-class battleships. It’s already good enough that he was able to fight equally with this fleet.
Fang Yun didn’t plan to show up at this moment. He hid quietly in the distance, watching the battle and waiting for further change.
“Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!”
In this empty space, many explosions occurred one after another. The development of the situation made Payne and Oliver quite embarrassed. With such a large fleet, they were not only unable to deal with this pathogen, but even lost many of their battleships.
"This monster is too cunning."
Oliver said to Payne with gritted teeth.
"It can instantly teleport in unusual situations, not giving our Gravity Generator any time to lock it."
Although there is a process from which the golden behemoth opens a space portal until it jumps into it, this process is not long, about 1 second. The process of using their Gravity generator to turn on and lock the golden behemoth requires more time than that.
Usually, when the gravity generator has just locked the position of the golden behemoth, he had already disappeared.
However, even so, during the course of the battle, the golden behemoth was severely injured, and as time passes, he’s getting more and more tired.
Of course, Payne and Oliver were also uncomfortable, they lost two Norton-class planet destroyers.
In addition, they lost ten Imperial-class battleships and eighteen Victory-class battleships. Their loss is very heavy.
Payne's heart was very painful. Every Norton-class battleship is extremely precious and difficult to build. It’s worth several planets.
During the war with the Milky Way, they need a large number of resources to keep the war going on, but they also need a lot of resources to build new Norton-class battleships.
Between the two, the Supreme Blue Empire chose to continue providing supplies to the intergalactic battlefield, slowing down the construction of new Norton-class battleships.
The Supreme Blue Empire’s higher-ups might think that the number of Norton-class battleships they have now is enough, but with the constant emergence of new disasters, this might not remain the case.
The battle continued, and the golden behemoth continued showing bravery and unparalleled fighting talent. It kept roaring while teleporting, appearing in tricky corners, causing many battleships to almost attack their comrades.
It shuttled through the battlefield, teleporting, changing its size, attacking with laser beams, with its physical body, using space attacks. It used all that it had at its disposal.
As time passed, the injuries on the golden behemoth got heavier and heavier, but the fleet also paid a great price.
At present, five Norton-class battleships have been defeated, four of which were completely destroyed, and one no longer had any combat effectiveness. It could only hide behind other battleships.
"Everyone! Work harder! That monster is not far from dying."
Payne comforted his subordinates through the communication channel. The speed of the golden behemoth is noticeably getting slower. Its injuries are too serious and it’s also quite exhausted. As long as the situation doesn’t change, they are very likely to kill it.
After hearing Payne's encouragement, the soldiers on the other spaceships were all refreshed.
All of them were able to see the exhaustion and bad state of the golden behemoth.
