Chapter 270: Reentering the Grass Sea
🕑 Added 2020-06-06 15:50:30 +0000 UTCFang Yun quickly swam upwards, seeing that no live creature has appeared in front of him, he wondered what the world situation has turned into.
A few minutes after, he burst out from the water surface, then started looking around.
The endless sea.
Fang Yun still remembers that there was a small island two or three kilometers away from here. Right now, this island has completely disappeared.
"I wonder what happened to the outside world."
In this respect, the sea is still surging and the waves are much higher than usual. The consequences of the nuclear explosion can be imagined.
Fang Yun determined a direction, then quickly swam towards it. He quickly reached the previous location of 'Panda country'. As expected, there has been a major change.
The coastal cities are submerged. Fang Yun dived to the previous location of the city and found ruins of buildings and traces of the previous prosperous civilization.
Apart from a few mountain tops and high-lands, the rest of the city was completely submerged.
While swimming around, he found many corpses floating on the water surface, or sinking at the bottom of the sea. They belong to various ancient/mutant creatures and native mutant creatures.
"I have to quickly learn about the world situation. Is the kaiju mother dead?"
Fang Yun crossed the coastal cities and continued swimming inland. He is searching for the location of some human bases. This is necessary to know about the latest information;
He thought for a moment, then decided to search in the nearby plateaus.
Before sending the hydrogen bombs, humans should have expected the consequences, so they are most likely hiding in a high-land or plateau. Now all he needs is to check all the high-lands in his way with his detection capabilities until he finds them.
While Fang Yun was rushing towards the nearest plateau. In a certain base, a conversation is taking place
The conference room of the highest leaders of the human alliance looks much more empty than before.
"You guys."
The person at the forefront of the conference table is, as usual, Lu Cheng. He is looking at a holographic screen with a solemn face. The people in the conference room, influenced by him, also looked at the projection screen.
On the holographic screen, there is currently the scene of endless waves.
"Everyone, for the human lives that were lost due to this operation, I present my sincerest apologies."
A mourning look emerged on the face of the human alliance's first leader. He took a deep breath and said with a forced smile.
"Fortunately, we survived this disaster."
After this remark came out of the mouth of Lu Cheng, many of the people in the conference room started talking. They felt very fortunate to be alive.
Even if their position is very high, giving them the privilege to live in the best-protected bunkers. This disaster still took some of their peers' lives.
"Well, no more gossip, please look here."
Lu Cheng waved his hand, then pointed at the holographic screen and said.
"This is how most areas currently looks like "
The picture on the screen changed, changing to a scene of floods. The areas where the cities existed before were all submerged. all kinds of plastic waste and other light objects are floating on the water surface, making for a truly apocalypse-like scene.
The people in the conference room even saw some human bodies floating on the water surface?
"Haah..."
In the conference room, a burst of sighs sounded in the room. No matter how powerful human have become, in front of a disaster of this scale, they are still as fragile as ants.
The conference room was filled with silence for a moment. A moment later, Lu Cheng navigated through the holographic screen, changing the scenes on the holographic screen, then examining their condition.
"Chief Lu, can our satellites detect the situation of the Grass Sea? "
Suddenly, Hook raised his head and seriously said to Lu Cheng.
"The Electromagnetic waves in that area are too intense and disordered. The satellites, as usual, can't capture what's happening there, and our equipment does immediately fail after entering the Grass sea."
After Lu Cheng's explanation ended, the atmosphere in the conference room became very serious. In case, the kaiju mother isn't dead, wouldn't they be in a very bad situation?
Right at this moment, the image on the screen changed again. This time, a huge creature is swimming forward. Occasionally stopping to eat the monsters' body floating on the water surface.
"Huh? "
Lu Cheng and the rest of the leaders who were seriously talking were surprised. They quickly approached the holographic screen, trying to see what kind of creature that is;
It's a giant snake.
"It's the giant serpent!"
Many people exclaimed, their faces were filled with surprise. Fortunately, the giant serpent is a creature they cooperated with before.
Furthermore, in this situation where the world has completely changed and many of their companions died, seeing a familiar creature like the giant serpent caused them to be somewhat relieved.
Under their observation, the giant serpent continued moving forward while eating the monsters' bodies floating on water
"Does this plateau have so many humans living on it?"
Fang Yun looked at high-land in front of him and wondered. He was wrapping his tail around a kaiju and swimming forward. From time to time, he turned back and took a bite from it, just like eating a snack.
He sensed that many humans are living in the high-land ahead. After a short surprise, he didn't hesitate to use his electromagnetic abilities to connect to the network, then check the information he wants.
Human beings are miserable now. For example, 'Panda country' has lost 3 million people during this disaster. Pulling their population down from over 10 million to 7 million.
The remaining 7 million people are scattered across 'Panda country'. The base in front of him has over half a million people, hence his surprise.
As for the situation of other countries, 'Panda country', or rather this base doesn't hold information about them.
Fang Yun also learned about the current status of those kaiju on this planet. They can be said to be completely dead. At least for now, 'Panda country' still haven't seen a living kaiju. All of them, at least the ones in the outside world are dead.
They still can't get any information about the situation of the Grass Sea.
Fang Yun wandered around the plateau where 'Panda country' people live. He swallowed all the monsters' bodies nearby, including kaiju and mutant/ancient creatures, then chose a random direction and swam there.
In fact, he didn't go far away. There are countless bodies of kaiju and ancient/mutant creatures floating around.
For the safety and health of the planet and creatures living on it, Fang Yun heroically chose to eat all the monsters' bodies floating on the water surface. No way, he is too kind.
Throwing those cringy thoughts out of his head, Fang Yun confirmed that all monsters raging in the world should have died. At least he didn't see a single living monster up to now.
"Did the human alliance desperate move succeed?"
Fang Yun held back the impulse to go the Grass sea and check. He decided to wait for the EMP field in the grass sea to weaken, and for the human alliance to send troupes over there to check the situation before going himself.
Half a month later, according to the measurement 'Panda country', the electromagnetic waves in the Grass sea were finally reduced to an acceptable level. They didn't hesitate to send a small fleet of airships to check the situation over there.
Fang Yun followed behind them, he also wants to know what is the situation over there.
'Panda country' sent 10 aircraft. Including 1 mothership and 9 airships.
Just under this fleet, a behemoth was following them.
About five days later, the fleet finally reached the location of the kaiju mother. However, what they saw is very different from what they expected.
