Chapter 244: True Despair
🕑 Added 2020-04-24 15:06:47 +0000 UTC"Woosh!"
An extremely loud air-piercing sound sounded. After a moment of surprise, the security guards and the survivors started looking for the source of the sound. In the end, they unanimously looked up at the place above the three motherships.
They watched as a huge shadow emerged from the clouds. It moved like a red flash of lightning, diving straight towards the three motherships.
The monster that appeared was ridiculous fast. At first, they could only see a red flash, but as the monster approached, its appearance became gradually clear.
This monster is very similar to a dragon. It looks almost the same as a western dragon apart from some small differences.
For example, this monster wings are different.
Unlike traditional dragon wings, its wings are more like that of a butterfly. A bit transparent and more leaning forward. This monster's wings are a bit beyond its head.
However, the most eye-catching thing is the smaller, second pair of wings behind the first ones.
The other different thing about this dragon-like creature is its tail, which is more similar to that of a dovetail.
Apart from these two points, this monster is a complete copy of a western dragon. Its head, limbs, and body are basically that of a western dragon.
The skin of this monster is completely red, causing it to look like a burning flame from afar. With a body length of 300 meters, it swooped down with the momentum of a flaming meteor.
"Huh? It looks a bit like a Toruk in Avatar."
Fang Yun started at the monster swooping down to the three motherships and remembered the dragon-like creature in "Avatar", Toruk.
Of course, there is no comparison in terms of size. The difference between them is like a bird and a plane. In fact, just the claws of this monster are a bit bigger than Toruk.
"Howl!!!"
A deafening roar sounded from the dragon-kaiju mouth. White swooping towards the motherships, the monster slightly adjusted its body, revealing its giant claws and pointing them straight at the motherships below.
Although all of this took a long time to describe, in fact, it has been just 3 seconds. Only now did the people on the motherships find the behemoth above them.
The commander responded instantly. He doesn't have enough time to release the missiles, so he immediately pressed on the automatic targeting button, activating the anti-aircraft gun on the turret.
The barrel moved slightly, locking the dragon-kaiju in the sky. Along with the sound of fire, a rain of bullets was ejected towards the monster in the sky.
"Da!Da!Da!Da!"
Needless to say, the power of anti-aircraft guns is exaggerated, especially the anti-aircraft guns equipped on this mothership. They have an attack speed of 15,000 rounds per minute, and each bullet is a specially made one against kaiju.
Such intensive firepower bombarded the dragon-kaiju body. However, the result wasn't the expected flesh and blood scene, just some sparks and the sound of steel colliding.
"Boom!!"
The dragon-kaiju withstood the bullet rain, then smashed its hind limbs heavily on the mothership, creating a huge shockwave, spreading over an extremely long distance. (TL: Reference to One-Punch Man, Saitama vs Boros scene.)
The huge mothership shook madly, then was slowly pressed into the ground. The engines were madly turning, struggling to keep the mothership from falling to the ground.
"Fuck, what the hell is that monster!"
Inside that mothership, Many people were yelling in horror. Some even held down their heads and crouched, shivering with fear.
"Hurry, kill me this monster!"
The general shouted insanely. From behind him, soldiers rushed out one after another, then started attacking the dragon-kaiju with machine guns.
The bullet rain madly collided with the dragon-kaiju scales. Unfortunately, it didn't have any effect.
"Roar!"
The giant monster suddenly opened its mouth and roared loudly at the attacking soldiers, then opened its wings and flew to the sky.
“NOO!!”
Seeing that the dragon-kaiju mouth is filled with white particles, the general yelled desperately. He tried to escape somewhere, but he was too slow.
The dragon monster opened his mouth, sending a huge beam of light straight towards the general and the rest of the soldiers.
"Boom!"
The command center of the mothership was unable to withstand the terrifying temperature and destructive power of the laser beam and exploded.
The consequence is that the engines on both sides suddenly stopped operating, causing the huge mothership to fall from the height of more than 1 kilometers to the ground.
"Ahhh!"
The survivors in the base below, as well as the security guards on the wall, screamed in horror.
However, their screams didn't affect the fall of the mothership. A few seconds later, along with a loud sound, the mothership collided heavily on the ground, breaking in the process.
"Boom, Boom!"
Along with the sound of an explosion, a cloud of dust rose into the sky, followed by a huge fire.
In the base, everyone looked at this scene speechlessly. The process of going from hell to heaven, then from heaven to hell left them in a daze.
Just when they were about to be saved, this thing happened, causing them to not know what to do.
"This ... how could this be?"
Among the crowd, Luo Yong stared blankly at the raging fire not far away from the base. The joy in his heart has already disappeared.
From the joy of being saved to the despair on the verge of death, he and many others experienced a rollercoaster of emotions. The only thing left now is despair.
"Howl!!!"
The dragon-kaiju howl sounded through heaven and earth, blowing the dust cloud away. The behemoth flapped its wings, then flew to the sky.
"What the hell is that thing?"
Right beside Luo Yong, the short man Yang Ping asked in horror.
"Kaiju, it should be a new kind of kaiju. Much stronger than the level 5 kaiju"
Li Zhi looked at the giant monster flying in the sky, then said with a look of realization.
"Buzz, Buzz!"
Midair, the engines of the two smaller motherships were madly running, after which they sent many missiles towards the behemoth in the sky.
"Howl!"
The dragon-kaiju roared loudly, after which a strange wave emerged from its body then quickly spread to the surroundings.
"EMP?"
Fang Yun is extremely sensitive to this type of fluctuations. He immediately guessed that the dragon-kaiju has released an Electromagnetic Pulse.
"Ahhh!!"
Screams sounded from the two motherships. The engines suddenly stopped working causing them to slowly crash.
The two motherships are at least three kilometers away from the dragon-kaiju, but they are still within the range of its electromagnetic pulse.
All electronic instruments on the mothership failed at that moment and even burned down.
In fact, the Bald Eagles have long been prepared against EMP attacks. They have prepared a special type of floating weapons to prevent this type of attack.
However, this time, they didn't even have the opportunity to use these floating weapons. This attack was too sudden.
Furthermore, they didn’t expect that flying kaiju would emerge, and they just happened to attack their three motherships without any indication.
All in All, they suffered a disastrous defeat this time.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The EMP caused all the missiles to explode in advance, dyeing the sky red.
The two motherships also crashed in the end. Fortunately, they didn't fall in the base. Otherwise, that would have caused many casualties.
However, the survivors in the base weren't that happy. Most of them watched this scene desperately, some of them even cried while shouting.
"It's over, it's over, this time it's really over."
Unfortunately, for these poor people, even more despair-inducing things happened. From the could above, another huge shadow swooped down straight towards them.
