Chapter 218: Animals Mutation
🕑 Added 2020-03-17 00:09:39 +0000 UTCA mountainous city in the north area of 'Panda country'. Because it belongs to the hinterland of the country, it hasn't been attacked by kaiju yet.
However, it's still facing the problem of atmospheric pollution, mostly the kaiju toxic gas that is bought there by the wind.
Although the life of the people there isn't very good, it's still possible to survive.
On a certain day, the police station in the city suddenly received a report saying that someone had found a corpse in the mountain.
Due to it being a murder case, the police station quickly dispatched the police force to the mountains together with the person who reported the case. They really found a body at the location indicated by the man.
The body looked terrifying.
The deceased was a man, about 40 years old, and after confirmation, he was a villager living under the mountain.
At that time, when the policemen found the deceased, he was lying on his back, his head and cheeks had some wounds, but his body was relatively intact.
However, on his neck, there was a fist-sized wound, the flesh around that area was blurred, and blood filled the area from his neck to his shoulders.
In addition, there was a larger wound on the chest, about the size of a football, but there isn't a lot of blood seeping out of it. According to the forensic investigation, it wasn't this wound that caused the death of the man.
According to the investigation, some creature should have bit on the neck of the deceased, quickly killing him.
As for the large hole on the deceased chest, it should have been made by that creature after the man's death, that should be because it wanted to eat the man's internal organs.
The examination revealed that the deceased chest is empty, all his internal organs have disappeared.
Just from the deceased's body, it's difficult to determine what animal the killer was.
To be honest, in this small forest, there are mostly small animals, an animal capable of killing humans wasn't present in the forest previously.
A creature like a wolf has appeared in the mountains, but that was many years ago. Furthermore, that was just the claim of some villagers, it wasn't actually seen.
The rest are small animals.
However, the police found something suspicious beside the deceased.
The legs of several insects.
The legs of insects normally shouldn't be suspicious, but they were too big, a bit bigger than an index finger. Such a large insect is too rare.
In the end, the investigators could only return to the city with the dismembered limbs of the insects.
Because things were a little strange, they attracted the attention of senior management.
A group of experts was invited to the city.
After a brief greeting, they didn't waste time. They started investigating the cause of the man's death.
Through the analysis of the amputated limbs, they found that this thing is very similar to a cricket's limbs, the DNA is also very close.
If the owner of these limbs is truly a cricket, it must be at least arm-sized?
The expert group who handled this case was shocked. They immediately sent a lot of manpower to the forest in order to find this giant cricket.
They have to figure out if that giant cricket truly lives on the mountain.
After searching for a day, they could only withdraw as they didn't find anything. More importantly, the 'Bald Eagle' has similar discoveries. They also found traces of giant creatures on land.
..........
It's mid-summer and the sun is shining brightly in the tourist city of Angoras.
Probably because the altitude is a little higher, and this being the windy season, the air here is relatively good. The blue sky can also be clearly seen, which is a rare scenery in this age.
Across the Longbow Gorge, a group of high school students was preparing to experience bungee jumping.
Even in this apocalyptic world, there are still a lot of entertainment activities. Moreover, it's even more developed than in a peaceful era.
In such a world full of depression and fear, people need a way to vent their depression. Otherwise, they tend to do some unlawful things.
High school students are full of vitality. Most of them are wearing summer clothes. Boys wore shorts and T-shirts, and the girls wore vests and hot pants.
A boy volunteered to be the first one to try.
Speaking of which, most of them have never played a stimulating sport like bungee jumping. Many girls had a scared look on their faces.
After the boy volunteered to be the first, everyone else cheered.
They accompanied the boy to the bungee platform and watched him fasten his seat belt.
The shape of the Longbow Gorge is like a large open bow, hence its name. The water here is clear, the species is rich, and there are some crocodiles inside.
It's said that when bungee jumping. Right at the moment of falling to the lowest point. If a person is lucky enough, he might see a crocodile swimming right below his/her head.
It gives people a different kind of stimulus.
The boy fastened the elastic cord to his legs, and under the gaze of the girls, he leaned down slightly, then fell down sharply.
"OH!"
The girls all cheered loudly. They laid down on the railings and watched their companion falling down with an excited look on their faces.
"Tok!"
The rope made a light noise, then straightened.
Due to the rope being very elastic, it stretched even more as the boy fell even further.
He opened his hands, his face was filled with excitement. He thought that after getting back above, he will be greeted by the sheers of the hot girls. Maybe a wild night is awaiting him.
Imagining that scene, a wretched smile spread on his face, drool almost fell from his mouth.
However, in the next moment, all his wonderful fantasies suddenly shattered.
"Splash!"
Below the young man, the water surface suddenly broke up, then a huge black shadow pounced on him from the river.
"NO!!!"
The boy only has the time to say this before getting eaten.
His companions on the bungee platform watched all of this unfold. The girls all widened their eyes, some screamed, and some covered their mouths.
The boys were also horrified, their eyes widened to the extreme. Some of them called the boy's name in horror.
Earlier, they watched as the boy jumped from the bungee platform. At first, they were very excited, but the next scene caused their mood to change from excitement to horror.
They watched as a huge creature jumped out of the water, then bit the upper half of the young man's body, splitting him into two parts.
At this moment, the lower half of their companion is dangling from the elastic rope, blood and internal organs falling into the river.
"That's a crocodile, a 20 meters long crocodile!" said the scenic area manager.
They obtained the pre-accident picture through a camera in the bungee platform. The huge crocodile bit the young man's body into two with extreme ease.
20 meter long creatures are very mediocre in the current era, but the problem is that this accident happened inland, far from the ocean.
Previously, no such huge creature had appeared inland—except for the giant python that appeared in the Ugandan prairie.
The giant cricket and giant crocodile incidents were just the beginning. As time passed, more and more incidents occurred. All sorts of giant animals, giant insects, giant birds appeared.
All inland.
The native animals on the Blue Planet started to change.
A brand new disaster is brewing under intense fear.
