Chapter 217: Neural Connection Technology
🕑 Added 2020-03-16 15:30:55 +0000 UTCThree years ago, the first level 5 kaiju appeared on the blue planet, starting the true apocalypse.
Two years ago, the National Research Institute of the 'Bald Eagle' country announced the launch of the "Kaiju vs. Kaiju" plan, which gave everyone a glimmer of hope.
In the past two years, the entire human world is on the verge of collapsing. Not to mention those countries that have fallen into Anarchies or have been destroyed, even superpowers such as 'Panda country' and 'Bald Eagle' country are constantly retreating.
Many people think that the end of the world is coming.
However, no one has expected that the 'Bald Eagles' could create a controllable kaiju at this juncture. This may be the dawn of humanity.
In an open platform, the reporters looked at the giant King Kong ahead in shock. The latter's body stood in front of them like a high-rise building, giving them extreme pressure.
The fear on their faces has mostly dissipated, replaced by curiosity and excitement.
"Mr. Andy, what is the level of King Kong?"
Suddenly, a white youth walked to Andy with a microphone and asked him. Other reporters also looked at Andy, waiting for his response.
Hearing that, Andy smiled and said.
"The current King Kong doesn't have the ability to fight against kaiju."
"What!"
As soon as this statement was made, there was an uproar in the open space. All the reporters looked at each other in disbelief, feeling they that were cheated.
"Everyone."
Andy clapped and said loudly: "Although King Kong can't fight against the kaiju now, he can listen to humans commands. Isn't this a good start?"
Hearing what Andy said, the group of reporters calmed down a bit.
Andy turned around, then loudly said to the giant King Kong behind him.
"Jennett, take two steps forward."
The moment he said that. In the shocked eyes of the reporters below. The giant King Kong moved its giant legs, then stepped forward, making a loud noise and creating a large pothole.
After the first step, It took another step and then stopped.
The reporters boiled again after seeing this scene.
King Kong's steps looked a bit wobbly like it can't control its body. This should be the reason why it can't fight the kaiju now.
However, just as Andy said, the most important thing is that King Kong can listen to human orders right now. It might now be able to fight right now, but after the technology becomes more complete, it will immediately be sent to the battlefield.
"Mr. Andy, I heard you call King Kong Jennett? Is this its new name?"
A reporter suddenly stood up and asked Andy.
"NO!"
Andy said with a smile on his face.
"I still didn't tell everyone something. In fact, we have not succeeded in deciphering the genetic information of the Kaiju."
"We can't inscribe loyalty to humans in the genes of the cloned kaiju, our technology is far from capable of doing this."
"We used another technology to control the cloned kaiju. That is... Neural interactive connection. "
After saying that, Andy took a deep breath and started explaining the theory and mechanics of this technology.
According to Andy, they used Neural Interactive technology to connect the consciousness of Jennett, one of their staff members, to the body of King Kong, thereby achieving the effect of controlling the kaiju.
In the field of neuroscience, the 'Bald Eagle' country is vastly superior to any other country in the world. This technology has actually been researched long ago. It's easy for them to use this technology to make humans control robots.
However, using this technology to connect a human's consciousness with another living organism has been just a theory before. They didn't expect that Andy's team has successfully made this technology in reality.
Looking at the noisy reporters in front of him, Andy laughed. He waved his hands backward, indicating to King Kong to sit down.
In fact, as early as when they cloned King Kong, they were prepared. If they can't decipher its genes and implant the loyalty setting into it, then they would use the neural interactive connection.
Thanks to the accumulation of their achievements in neuroscience in these years, their team was able to initially complete this task in just two years.
After some time, the press conference finally came to an end. The reporters quickly dispersed, eager to spread the explosive news to the world.
...........
"The 'Bald Eagle' used neural interaction technology to control King Kong". This news quickly swept the world.
The people on the blue planet boiled.
This is a landmark technology.
The technology that only existed in sci-fi movies before has appeared in the real world for the first time.
In peacetime, This neural interactive connection technology won't probably appear until fifty years later. After all, this is a quite complicated technology.
It may be because this is an apocalyptic era, the human potential was fully exerted, allowing them to initially apply neural interactive technology on a living creature in just a few years.
Of course, as one of the creators of this technology, Andy is very clear that the reason why they were able to initially apply this technology in the past two years isn't just because their potential was exerted, as most people think.
There is another very important reason that they didn't mention.
The next day, all of the world's countries knew that the 'Bald Eagle' was able to control the kaiju
Most people were cheering and celebrating, but the higher-ups of all the major countries scolded the 'Bald Eagle' internally.
Andy's team said at the beginning that the only way to control the kaiju is by editing their genetic information, adding the loyalty setting.
Most of the countries' research teams went in this direction, wasting massive resources and money, not to mentioning the two years' time.
Only now did they know that the 'Bald Eagle' country has pitted them.
Of course, some countries also thought of using the neural interactive connection, such as 'Panda country'.
However, what puzzled them was that when they tried connecting the experimental organism and the Kaiju consciousness, the experimental organism couldn't bear the powerful spiritual load and immediately became crazy.
Therefore, the countries that have conducted neural interactive connection experiments are very curious about how the 'Bald Eagle' country overcome this difficulty.
Unfortunately, the 'Bald Eagle' country doesn't have the slightest intention of sharing experimental data right now.
This has caused a loud outrage among various countries, especially Asian ones.
"They are dreaming of saving the Blue Planet by themselves. They might even think that only their country should exist in the world."
This is a statement from an angry citizen of the 'Polar Bear' country.
"I hope that the 'Bald Eagle' country can set aside the difference between countries. We, humans, are a big community, we should gather together and set aside our differences in order to resist the disaster in front of us."
This is the speech a citizen from 'Panda country"
"Dad, please love me."
No doubt, this is the speech from 'Sakura country' citizens.
Overall, humans gave regained hope, they might finally be able to fight against the kaiju.
Several countries, such as 'Panda country', have begun researching neural interactive connections frantically. After all, the 'Bald Eagle' country has proved that this road is feasible, but for the time being, they didn't achieve any result.
Just as humans started getting hope for the future, despair struck them down.
