Chapter 211: Humans Advancement
🕑 Added 2020-03-08 00:04:16 +0000 UTCOn the other side of the Pacific Ocean, the 'Bald Eagle' country announced that they had successfully cloned a Kaiju, which was named "King Kong" by them.
It looks like a gorilla, but due to the fact that it's still very young, it's just 10 meters high, it also can't walk yet.
This act isn't unprecedented. Cloning technology is already quite mature, and quite a few ancient creatures have been cloned before. Kaiju are just more difficult to clone, but it's not impossible.
The gorilla named King Kong looks quite stupid. He usually lays on the ground and doesn't move. He will only scream once he feels hungry.
His screams are a major headache for researchers.
However, it's certain that those screams are just an instinctive action of King Kong. Once they give it food, it will immediately stop screaming.
King Kong also didn't show any aggressive behavior for the time being. Researchers speculate that it's because it's just in the baby stage.
According to research, each kaiju has 54 pairs of chromosomes, of which 53 pairs are normal chromosomes.
The 53 pairs of chromosomes are relatively simple in shape, but the shapes of the last pair are much more complicated.
In the last pair of chromosomes, scientists have discovered some special substances organized in a special order, which should be the genes of Kaiju beasts.
The cloned King Kong also has similar genes. The 53 relatively simple genes on the chromosomes look normal.
Exactly the same as its parent.
However, the last pair of chromosomes are a bit different. Their genetic structure isn't of the same order as that of its parent. In fact, it's somewhat...Disorganized.
"This may be the reason King Kong doesn't show the tendency to attack people."
The person in charge of this project said so.
They speculated that the genetic information carried on that particular pair of chromosomes is the factor deciding the kaiju attitude towards humans.
They also announced that they are going to test it.
The research team is planning to clone another King Kong. In which they are planning to arrange the genes in that last pair of chromosomes to make it similar to that of a normal kaiju.
By doing this, they will be able to determine if those genes are what truly make kaiju so aggressive towards humans.
If they can prove that their guess is correct, maybe they can edit them to make these cloned kaiju human weapons.
If they could really do that, then the human situation will greatly improve. Humans won't need to use nuclear bombs anymore to deal with the kaiju.
At the end of the speech, the leader of the research team emphasized that this technology has great potential and that he hopes that the countries around the world will support them.
In addition to this discovery, scientists have also discovered that kaiju blood contain certain energy that can be used by them.
Just a small amount of Kaiju blood, plus some other common materials, can constitute a low-carbon, clean and extremely safe energy.
This energy can greatly alleviate the use of oil.
If this clean energy source appeared in the peace era, it will probably cause a large shock in the world, maybe even start a war between countries.
Then again, if kaiju haven't appeared, then this energy would have never been found.
In addition to these discoveries, some people tried to combine carbon-based cells and silicon-based cells to create some special human tissues, with the intention to obtain the regeneration ability of a kaiju.
In short, after the advent of Kaiju, a variety of new ideas were bought up one after the other and each one has great potential.
Unfortunately, with the current human technology, few can be truly realized.
Therefore, most kaiju related technologies can only be truly used by humans after a long period of time.
It's just...can humans persist until then?
It has been two years since the first Kaiju appeared, and earth-shaking changes have taken place on the Blue Planet. The first problem is environmental pollution.
Nuclear bombs and the blood of higher-level kaiju have seriously polluted the environment. The wind and rain have bought the polluted gas to human habitat, dealing a great deal of damage to them.
Various organ diseases, newborns malformations, and other problems began to stand out.
However, they still have no solution to this problem, furthermore, nuclear bombs are being detonated every day around the world, further worsening the situation.
Ironically, they can't stop this behavior. Otherwise, level 5 kaiju will lead the other kaiju to destroy the human civilization.
Missiles are almost completely ineffective in front of level 5 kaiju.
The only way that the current human civilization can solve them is by using nuclear bombs.
Secondly, the human order has reached a tipping point. The major countries are fine, they can still hold on. However, small countries are on the verge of falling into Anarchies, especially those small coastal countries.
According to the statistics, since the appearance of kaiju, almost 1 billion humans have died and many more are dying every day. crowning this kaiju invasion as the biggest disaster in human history.
Fang Yun didn't care much about the situation of the human world. When he first saw the monsters behind the space channel, he has been deliberating. What would be his position in this war between humans and monsters?
Although he was human previously, but he is a monster right now. Even if he wants to help humans, will they accept him?
In the end, he felt that no matter whether it's the human civilization, the kaiju or the aliens behind them, they have little to do with him.
His current goal right now is to grow, become bigger until he can finally leave this planet.
After reaching that point., he will leave this planet and look for a way back home in the vast universe.
As a matter of fact, he clearly knows that this will take a long time. Even if he goes back to his original universe, his parents and friends would have died long ago.
After all, it has been almost 7 years since he reincarnated as a snake, but he still doesn't know how long it will take him to grow to the points of traveling in the universe, let alone going back to his previous world.
It might take hundreds or even thousands of years to achieve his goal.
However, he will never give up, going back to his previous world has become an obsession. It doesn't matter if all his relatives and friends disappear, he just wants to go back;
Currently, Fang Yun was lying on the shell of the giant turtle, roaming the Atlantic Ocean. They are quite close to the Indian ocean, it won't take long to arrive there.
It's worth mentioning that Fang Yun has gathered enough bio-energy to evolve. Thanks to the variety of kaiju he encountered along the way, he was able to quickly gather enough bio-energy.
He is currently in the midst of an evolution, which can be easily seen from his lethargic state.
