Chapter 210: Nuclear Winter
🕑 Added 2020-03-07 13:24:09 +0000 UTCFang Yun returned to the beach, climbed up on the shell of the giant turtle that was waiting there, then started roaming the ocean like before.
He discovered that when he was wandering in the ruins, especially when fighting the crocodile-shaped kaiju, his scales fell faster.
Fighting can speed up evolution.
Although he still feels lethargic right now, he made up his mind. As long as he meets with a kaiju, he won't let it go.
Now that Fang Yun has fully entered the Atlantic Ocean, he is planning to circle around the coastline of the African continent, then go back to the Indian Ocean.
There should be a lot of Kaiju over there.
It's also worth mentioning that in this time period, his reputation points have reached 4 billion. After which the system rewarded him with 13 skill points, adding the 11 points he has left, he has a total of 24 skill points.
In other words, he can upgrade one of his skills.
This time, he decided to upgrade "Overclocking Resonance". After the upgrade, he felt that the organ responsible for generating sound waves in his mouth has changed.
"The coverage and lethality of the sound waves have increased a lot."
Fang Yun looked at the fainted mutant megalodon floating on the water surface and came to this conclusion.
However, he still can't destroy an object by analyzing its frequency and sending the corresponding sound waves as the skill description says.
"Maybe after a few more upgrades, I will unlock this ability."
Fang Yun was a little helpless. If he now has that kind of ability, then he can directly use it in his fight against kaiju. Instantly destroying the kaiju body into a lot of small pieces will make his fight against the kaiju a lot easier.
They leisurely wandered in the Atlantic ocean for two months. The turtle attracted a lot of ancient and mutant creatures along the way, allowing him to harvest a lot of bio-energy.
As he got closer and closer to the Indian ocean, the frequency of the kaiju appearance has increased a lot.
He even met two kaiju moving together. Fortunately, they weren't very strong.
After killing these two Kaiju, most of his old scales have fallen off. Three days later, all of his scales have fallen off.
In other words, his evolution is complete.
This time after completing this evolution, he directly became 100 meters long, his diameter also increased to 3 meters.
If this was the era before the monsters appeared, his current body would be enough to plant fear in the mind of most people in the world.
He got 23 skill points this time, which he used to upgrade "Thunder Domain".
By now, this skill has been upgraded 3 times.
When activating this skill, a purple thunder pool with a diameter of more than 200 meters will manifest around him. This skill has already entered the fantasy range.
The power of the thunder itself has also greatly increased, although a bit inferior to natural thunder, it still should be around 100 million volts.
At the same time, this skill also has a passive electromagnetic wave attack, making creatures around him feel a lot of discomfort and fear. The smaller and weaker the creature, the more effective this passive attack on it.
After the upgrade, this skill which resembles the momentum, dragon pressure, or king field in novels also became stronger.
He even tried it against a big ancient creature, and the results were gratifying.
He sneakily approached an ancient creature, then released that special electromagnetic field. The ancient creature instantly escaped. He naturally followed it from behind, still releasing the electromagnetic field.
As time passed, the creature became crazier and more fearful, until it fainted in the end.
After this experiment, Fang Yun was very satisfied. He deactivated, as he likes to call it, his dragon field, then continued his journey.
.......
The latest discovery about the kaiju has cast a haze in the heart of humans around the world.
The kaiju likes to swallow nuclear radiation.
This sounds like good news, as humans won't have to worry about nuclear radiation as before.
However, the word nuclear radiation is very sensitive to humans, as the word mutation often accompanies it.
This is what scientists are worried about. Will the kaiju mutate after swallowing enough nuclear radiation?
Sadly, even if they have scruples about this, they still have to use nuclear bombs. After all, apart from it, no other weapon can effectively kill the mega kaiju.
It has been half a year since the first appearance of the level 5 kaiju and their large scale invasion.
In this time, they have killed more than a 100 level 5 kaiju. Which means that they have exploded more than a 100 nuclear bomb.
This number is already pretty scary.
The impact of a nuclear bomb is not only about its large scale destruction.
After the explosion, a huge mushroom cloud will rush up into the sky, bringing a huge amount of dust into the air.
When that dust gathers too much, it will block the sunlight, causing the area in which the explosion happened to cool down. This is the origin of the term "Nuclear Winter".
Although the more than one hundred nuclear bombs did not explode at the same time, nor did they explode in the same location, the effect they had on the earth overall is still very significant.
The sky over many cities has begun to become foggy, and people were forced to wear masks while moving on the street.
The blue sky and white clouds can only be seen in plateaus.
Speaking of which, many people, in their spare time, would go to the plateau or a highland to breathe fresh air.
In addition, the temperature has started to drop. In the areas closest to the explosion, the sun has been completely covered. The most affected were the crops that need sunlight to grow, it's a big blow to agriculture.
This is the case in many countries. They were forced to use crops produced in a certain area to supply the entire country.
Fortunately, some people have synthesized a super fertilizer from the body parts of mutant creatures, which can increase the output of grain. Otherwise, the food problem alone will cause many countries to collapse.
In addition to the impact of nuclear bombs on humans, the white smoke produced by levels 4 and 5 kaiju after their death is causing serious problems to human health.
Every day, some people die due to blocked respiratory tracks or inflamed lungs. It's those kaiju that bought these problems.
Many people scolded the higher-ups who had originally decided to bomb the space channel below the grass sea. Among them, the 'Polar Bear' higher-ups were the ones that suffered the most, as they were the ones who proposed that in the first place.
Most people think that if that space passage wasn't blown up, so many level 5 kaiju wouldn't have appeared, and they wouldn't have had to use so many nuclear bombs.
This is actually whimsical. Even if the space channel wasn't blown up, level 5 kaiju would eventually appear and even on a large scale.
This war won't stop unless one side is defeated. It doesn't really matter whether the space channel was blown up or not.
It's just that in such situations where one can possibly die any time, one tends to get extremely stressed. People just need something to vent their fears and frustration on.
Fortunately, some good news was finally disclosed by the media.
Scientists' research on Kaiju has finally yielded results.
