Chapter 207: Ruined City
🕑 Added 2020-03-04 20:34:17 +0000 UTCThe end of the world is coming.
In the past few days, all that the media was talking about is kaiju attacked various countries, or that a certain city was bombed with a nuclear bomb, killing the kaiju in it and reducing the city to ruin.
With the appearance of each level 5 kaiju, a city is destroyed.
Some countries were even on the verge of destruction. Originally, not all countries had nuclear weapons. In fact, only about 10 has them.
In addition, some of these countries' nuclear weapons aren't technically complete, they can only be called a nuclear deterrent.
Among them, the African continent's countries are in the worst condition. Their military power is the weakest and the number of kaiju on it is the most.
Many kaiju are attacking various parts of the African continent, destroying many countries, and resulting in the birth of many refugees.
These refugees could only migrate within the African continent. Most of them headed towards north Africa. After all, due to the south African countries facing the Indian ocean, they suffered the mad attack of the kaiju.
The ultimate goal of those refugees is the European continent. However, unless they pass through the entire continent, they won't be able to reach Europe.
However, Europe wasn't in good condition either. Its glorious period has long since passed, it also didn't focus on developing its military power.
So the moment these kaiju broke out, they were caught by surprise. Although they eventually killed the attacking Kaiju, their losses were extremely heavy.
The kaiju tide continued, as more and more monsters emerged from the grass sea. Their number was overwhelming, and it's increasing every day.
One wave after the other is attacking the human world.
In just one month, the number of nuclear bombs detonating has surpassed the number that was ever detonated since their creation, and all of them were large equivalent.
There is no other way, level 4 and 5 kaiju can emit electromagnetic pulses, causing the nuclear bombs to detonate in advance, they can only launch the bombs in their general direction as they can't lock them at all.
Furthermore, level 5 kaiju can sense danger in advance and can escape, their speed is also quite fast.
The only option they are left with is launching large-equivalent nuclear bombs. Even if the kaiju detonate them in advance, the shockwaves created by the bomb is enough to tear them apart.
Although humans can use nuclear bombs to destroy the kaiju. They also have a certain advantage in this war. the harmful radiation left after a nuclear bomb detonation is still a major problem.
In addition, the toxic white gasses that if left after a level 5 kaiju has begun to spread in the world, causing major disasters.
Cities near the war zone were the first ones affected.
Speaking of which, the toxic gas that appears after the death of level 5 kaiju is even more harmful than nuclear radiation. Of course, the radiation might not have displayed its harmful effects yet.
For example, in 'Panda country', the closest city to Donggang is Neihua city. Most of the people transferred from Donggang are settled there.
Those toxic gases were bought to Neihua by a strong wind, causing a lot of harm to the city over there.
During this time, many people developed symptoms of respiratory infections and lung inflammation. The hospitals in the city were almost full during this period.
It wasn't just 'Panda country' suffering from this disaster, but every country that used nuclear bombs against level 5 kaiju was suffering from the same problem.
In fact, the 'Panda country' wasn't in a state as bad as the other countries. With the mobilization of the governement, masks and other protective equipment are being issued.
In addition, some severely injured people were transferred to other cities' hospitals to get treatment.
Doctors and nurses from all over the country were also transferred to Neihua city.
Fang Yun was laying down on the giant turtle's back. They are heading towards the North Atlantic right now. Fang Yun didn't know that the world was facing a large scale attack of the kaiju right now.
However, he could still guess a bit.
He is currently near the beach, watching the ruins of a city not far away.
It's the city of Plymouth, the first city in the European continent that was attacked by kaiju.
He laid quietly on the shell of the turtle while looking at the ruined city not far away.
The whole city exudes the feeling of death, at the same time, as he got closer to the city, a strange feeling emerged in his body. He looked underneath and discovered the giant turtle is also very restless.
"Nuclear bomb?"
Based on Fang Yun's knowledge, the only thing that can turn an entire city into ruin is a nuclear bomb. The strange feeling should be the radiation left after the explosion.
He concentrated deeply, feeling the changes in his body. The nuclear radiation is constantly killing the cells in his body. However, every moment, a large number of cells are regenerating.
The degree of regeneration is far superior to that of destruction, so the radiation can't effectively harm him.
"It has no effect on me."
Fang Yun came to his conclusion that the threat from the nuclear radiation was too small. After thinking about it for a while, he slithered down from the back f the giant turtle, then swam towards the shore.
Deep into the city, everything he saw is the same as that of the shore, destruction, and ruin.
Suddenly, he smelled a special breath.
He flicked his tongue a few times, determining the direction of the special smell, he slithered over there. About 3 km away, he stopped moving and looked at it.
"Kaiju body?"
Not far ahead, there is the corpse of a kaiju, but its body is badly burnt and more than half of it is missing.
According to the system's prompt, the corpse of this kaiju can provide him with 40,000 bio-energy points.
Fang Yun slithered over, tore a part of the kaiju body, swallowed it, then concentrated on the changes in his belly.
"It seems to be edible."
After trying that part, Fang Yun swallowed the rest of the body confidently and boldly.
He glanced around again, there are ruins everywhere-collapsed buildings, broken cars and so on.
He chose a random direction, then slithered forward.
To be honest, he is really reluctant to move, but this ruined city has attracted his attention.
According to his understanding of the kaiju, using a nuclear bomb is really unnecessary.
"Maybe a stronger Kaiju appeared."
Fang Yun guessed randomly, he couldn't help but think back of the scene he saw in the space channel.
A giant Kaiju over 200 meters height directly held an Argentinosaurus in his hand and ate it in two bites.
He suspected that such a Kaiju appeared.
It's just that, it has appeared why sooner than he thought.
If he knew about the fact that humans used nuclear bombs to destroy the space channel in the grass sea, he will be truly speechless. Humans are really looking for trouble.
Fang Yun's huge body twisted between the ruins, squashing the gravel under him, the sky was gray, covered with a layer of dust. The city was also filled with a layer of thin white gas.
He used the skill "overclocking resonance" to check out the situation a few kilometers ahead, trying to discover something unusual.
He didn't expect to really find an unusual thing.
