Chapter 188: The Prologue Begins
🕑 Added 2020-02-13 23:33:37 +0000 UTCThe warship was attacked by the giant before they could react. It spat a yellow liquid at the warship. That liquid is extremely corrosive.
Hook watched as one of his companions turned directly into a puddle of water. The warship's deck, composed of steel, was also quickly corroded.
With no time to feel sad, Hook quickly ran towards the other side of the warship. He watched in horror as the giant humanoid monster struck the warship with its palm, leaving a huge print on the steel deck.
That strike caused the warship to shake violently, almost overturning. Hook himself fell from the warship and landed into the sea.
After that, the humanoid monster held the bottom of the warship with its two giant arms. It exserted a horrible power, overturning the thousands of tons warship.
Fortunately, Hook survived, but the rest of the people weren't so lucky. After all, Hook didn't see anyone else while escaping.
After finishing this story, Tang Xue and the two government personnel were left speechless.
Although it's too shocking, they didn't doubt Hook's story.
This isn't the previous era. After the emergence of ancient and mutant creatures, a giant, Godzilla or some other type of fantasy monster isn't impossible.
In addition, a team consisting of three warships and two military submarines disappearing can't be explained in any other way.
Unless two or more monster kings joined hands to attack them, thee won't be able to destroy the expedition, and even so, the three warships can still send a message back in time.
The content of this conversation is known by very few people. It's not necessary to inform the public at this moment, that would only induce panic.
However, high-level officials quickly mobilized the military forces and began to alert coastal cities to the situation at sea.
The unusual actions of the military bases in various coastal cities have also attracted the attention of some people, but everyone did not think that a new type of monsters appeared in the ocean.
Some people think that the state is preparing to make an attack on some mutant creatures in the sea.
But an incident that happened later made it impossible for 'Huaxia' to hide the existence of the new type of monsters anymore.
At about six o'clock in the afternoon, a post appeared on a forum, that post quickly became very popular.
The title of the post was: 'I discovered something extraordinary, the blue planet might have a second upheaval'.
Although many people laughed at such a messy title, it has still attracted the attention of many people. As a result, they were shocked by the content of the post.
The man who posted this said that he is from Hualien City.
When he passed the road between Taroko Forest Park and the sea off the coast of Hualien this afternoon, he discovered a broken fishing boat on the sea. It was broken into numerous pieces, beyond repair.
There are several pictures below this paragraph: on the sea surface, several wood boards are floating quietly.
He thought that this fishing boat had been attacked by a mutant creature, which resulted in it being sunk, so at that time he came to the conclusion that a mutant creature is nearby.
After thinking of this, he wanted to leave that place quickly, so he pressed on the throttle and quickly accelerated forward.
That decision almost cost him his life.
"When I stepped on the throttle, My car had almost fallen into a pit in the road, If I didn't react fast enough, I would have been seriously injured if not dead."
He wrote his experience in the post.
Looking at the huge pit ahead, the man was stunned. After a few seconds, he reacted and quickly got out of the car, then walked towards the pit in front of him.
He didn't find that giant pit before because of his carelessness. After focusing on the road ahead, he not only discovered that the shape of the pothole is a bit weird, the trees not far away were also broken.
In addition, he noticed a blood spot nearby, with a broken hand beside the blood spot.
"After examining the pit for a while, I discovered an inconceivable thing. It looks just like a giant human footprint."
After this passage, there are also several pictures. The scene in the photo is a highway, showing a huge footprint.
In addition, the photos of the crushed trees and the blood patch were also shown.
"What the schnitzel, the change in the ocean is already hard for me t accept, now even weirder things are appearing."
"It really looks like a footprint, It would be best if this picture was taken from a bird's point of view, a drone would do the trick.
"There won't be any new type of monsters? my poor heart can't stand this."
"My hometown is Hualien City, I really heard people in my family talk about this, that place was also surrounded by the police."
...
A lot of people replied to this post, many were shocked by its content. After the people of Hualien city confirmed that there is indeed a footprint shaped pothole in the city, many people became worried.
Although the ancient and mutated creatures have caused great damage to the sea navigation industry and ocean fishing, it didn't affect the overall human stability and the security of most people.
The only effect it has is on the economy and the security of the people living in coastal cities.
After all, with the exception of those king-level sea monsters, other mutant creatures don't have the ability to attack human cities. More importantly, those monster kings have either disappeared or were captured in laboratories.
They basically can't endanger human security.
However, this post has revealed something extraordinary. Maybe, humans will face another crisis.
........
In a pink room, after drying her hair, Meng Ning picked up her mobile phone and surfed the net as usual. She is reading mostly news from her hometown. (TL: Friend of streamer girls from chapter 16)
Now, Meng Ning has already graduated from university and has come to work in Yangcheng. Her good Song Ran came with her.
Speaking of which, from their dormitory group had only two of them staying together. Chen Meng and Zhang Yun went to work in other cities.
Meng Ning scrolled down the new posts with a bored look.
When she feels homesick, she will call home, then browse the local forums or something, just to see the pictures of her hometown to ease her homesickness.
Just then, a post caught her attention.
"Breaking news! Someone has found the traces of Godzilla in Hualien City."
Seeing such a headline, Meng Ning was stunned. She despises these kinds of titles that are obviously over-exaggerated to attract people's attention.
After all, since the appearance of ancient and mutant creatures, many people started talking and expecting bio-chemical creatures, mythological creatures, sci-fi creatures, etc...
The ancient creatures that have appeared in the ocean have all appeared on the blue planet in the past, so they are still within the acceptable range of people.
The mutated creatures are shocking and all, but in the end, they are still just a bigger version of an ancient creature, they don't have special abilities or something similar.
People who were expecting Godzillas, dragons and giants were disappointed. In the end, this topic became increasingly unpopular until no one talked about it anymore.
This is the reason why she despised that title.
However, she still clicked on the post, then started browsing it.
When she scrolled to the end, she was breathing heavily. She immediately said to her girlfriend about this explosive news.
"Song Ran! come here and look at this!"
Song Ran walked over with a hairdryer in her hand and looked at the post on her girlfriend's phone.
After seeing the pictures at the end of the post, she was also stunned. They looked at each other with a weird look on their faces. Some weird fantasy monster won't really appear?
"Wait a second! Xiao Meng is living in Hualien city!"
