Chapter 202: Massive Casualties
🕑 Added 2020-02-27 12:20:29 +0000 UTCFeeling that it became free again, the giant turtle slowly stuck its head out of its shell, followed by its limbs. After looking around, it slowly swam forward.
While swimming forward, it gently shook its body. The people on the back of the giant turtle screamed as they fell from its back.
At the same time, all the machines on its back fell into the water.
Fang Yun looked at the giant turtle next to him. This turtle is even bigger than him, but its character is totally inconsistent with its size.
Despite suffering such torture for so long, this turtle did nothing more than throwing the people on its back in the water. It didn't even have the idea of revenge or to strike back.
"No wonder this turtle is so miserable."
Fang Yun felt that the reason why this giant turtle was caught, then subjected to such torture is its personality. If things went for the worse, it could have been killed.
After rescuing the giant turtle, Fang Yun didn't know what to do for a moment. He couldn't communicate with it. Although both of them cam make sound, they don't have a common language.
This made him particularly annoyed. He didn't know if he could acquire language communication skills in the future. He doesn't really want language skills though.
After all, as a monster, his evolutionary direction should be to strengthen himself. language skills don't have any effect.
Fortunately, the giant turtle swam around him after getting free, looking at its gesture, it's expressing joy and gratitude.
Fang Yun tried to swim forward a bit, then found that the giant turtle took the initiative to follow him.
Such a discovery made him happy. He continued moving forward with the giant turtle behind him.
The 'Polar Bear' people could only watch as he left.
Only now did the 'Polar Bear' people discover that the giant turtle speed is so fast, vastly beyond anything it has shown before.
This made the warships that started following them useless. They can't keep up with the speed of the giant serpent and giant turtle.
Fang Yun took the turtle to the east, he is searching for a suitable place for his next evolution.
Ten days later, his bio-energy was finally full. He laid on the place he chooses to evolve on and started the evolution. To his surprise, he didn't enter the "Sleep" state this time.
In fact, he even feels that he can move, it's just that he is too tired to do so.
"It's still more comfortable to lie on my stomach."
Fang Yun was lying motionlessly on an "Iceland". The warm sunlight fell on his body, causing him to feel very comfortable, he really doesn't want to move.
However, he still forced himself to move. He slithered towards the giant turtle not far away, then curled on its shell.
The pothole on the turtle shell, that the humans dug before, was slowly healing. It will take a long time though.
The news that the giant serpent took away the giant turtle quickly spread in the human world, momentarily covering the news about the kaiju.
Up to now, the number of Kaiju that have appeared has reached as many as 50, so they aren't as rare as before.
The Kaiju that appeared at the beginning were only large in size, could spit acid or electricity, and they were all bulky and clumsy.
However, as time passed, the kaiju are becoming stronger, faster, more flexible and could even release energy beams.
Once this energy beam hits objects such as helicopters or warships, it will immediately cause a large scale explosion, effectively destroying them.
Their skin is also very special, it can absorb certain electromagnetic waves, as well as sound waves, making it very difficult to find them before they appear.
The emergence of this kind of kaiju has caused a major disaster for humans. Many coastal cities were destroyed by them, leaving only ruin, at the same time caused large casualties among humans, surpassing millions!
In the short time that the kaiju appeared, they caused much more damage than the ancient and mutant creatures have ever done!
Various coastal states and countries are shrinking their coastline. They are deploying heavy firepower on the coastline to defend against the attack of the kaiju.
This is the era of true monsters. The large scale destruction and death have shrouded the human world in haze, many people are living in despair and sadness and more are worrying about the future.
Some people even started missing the time when the ancient and mutant creatures dominated the ocean.
Although at that time, the ocean was also full of crises, but the situation was not nearly as bad as now. For big ships, as long as they avoid top and kind-level mutants, they basically can travel without mishap.
Since the appearance of kaiju, no big ship dared to go to the sea anymore.
The government says that about 50 kaiju have appeared right now, but a lot of people think that it's more than that, the government is definitely hiding the true number, and this is just the ones that have been discovered.
They hid in the ocean and attacked in human ships that passed by, from time to time, they walk into human cities and lunch mad destruction.
So once the news about the giant serpent and giant turtle broke out, everyone felt a sense of intimacy and nostalgia.
"The sea turtle was taken away, why didn't the 'Polar Bear' do anything?"
"The secret of the "Life Elixir" is in the giant turtle, isn't it? Why did they let them escape?"
In fact, it's not that 'Polar Bear' did nothing. They immediately sent 4 warships to follow them once they got the news. However, they weren't able to catch up.
In the end, they could only withdraw those warships. They need to defend the coast, and their manpower is already stretched.
This news died not long after. The "Life Elixir" hidden in giant turtles is only theoretical. The real product hasn't been launched yet.
The drug they developed up to now has only the effect of smoothening the skin, thereby making people look younger, far from the promised effect of increasing life expectancy.
Although the effect of that drug isn't bad, it's very expensive.
Therefore, the escape of the giant turtle didn't cause a sensation among humans. Most people felt that this thing has nothing to do with them.
In just a few days, the news about the giant turtle disappeared amidst the news about more kaiju appearing.
The huge number of kaiju made it difficult for even the two top superpowers of the world to kill them. Although they can quickly destroy the ones on their territory with bombs and missiles, that is going to be a huge consumption.
They aren't sure about the source of the kaiju yet.
Once a kaiju appear in a certain place, it can quickly reduce that place to ruin. Their destructive power is horrifying.
Basically, the coastal cities of every country belong to the developed regions. mostly important trade cities or even the capital of some countries. However, most of these places have become ruins right now.
The economy of the entire world has suffered an unprecedented blow.
Even the top superpowers are struggling in the face of the kaiju, not to mention the developing countries. The number of casualties and the destruction that the kaiju has caused them is appalling.
For the first time in history, almost all of the world's countries are gathering together, discussing a way to solve the kaiju, once and for all.
