Chapter 137: Mutant LanternFish
🕑 Added 2019-12-11 18:44:13 +0000 UTCFang Yun looked at the sphinx in front of him, his eyes widening in shock.
The eyes of this sphinx are very bright, like two huge gems. Even though there are no luminous creatures attached to it, it's still emitting a very noticeable light.
However, while Fang Yun was admiring the gems-like eyes of the sphinx, something unusual happened.
Suddenly, lasers shot from the eyes of the sphinx, forming an oval-shaped light curtain in front of Fang Yun.
The light curtain was originally a white screen, but not long after, a scene appeared on it. It looked just like a holographic TV.
On the oval light curtain. The blue sky, the endless ocean, and a large amount of land appeared. On the land is an endless jungle, filled with gigantic ancient trees.
The scene on the light curtain was not static, it's just like someone was holding a camera and moving at a very high speed. the scene was changing rapidly.
However, there was no living creature, just the blue ocean, and the endless jungle.
After about three minutes, in the light curtain, the picture suddenly stopped and the gigantic trees started to tremble, just like something was about to come out from there.
Fang Yun stared at the trembling trees with extreme focus, wondering how huge one has to be to make trees that are more than a hundred-meter tall tremble, just as the trees trembled more and more, the picture suddenly became blurred.
Fang Yun widened his eyes as much as possible, wanting to see across the blurred image, but the only thing he got was a splitting headache. He quickly closed his eyes and looked away.
Time passed and his headache slowly subsided.
When he looked back, the light curtain has already disappeared.
"What was that thing?"
Fang Yun was a little puzzled. Was the place he saw in the light curtain the Alien civilization hometown? and what was that light curtain? Holographic technology or...?
Fang Yun thought for a moment before shaking his head, he isn't cut for this. He still felt that it was a pity though.
He won't stay on this blue planet all his life. One day, he will leave this planet and start his interstellar journey.
If he has some understanding of alien civilizations before his journey, that would be really helpful for his future interstellar travel.
"Unfortunately, I can't though the like curtain for a long time."
Fang Yun groaned internally. He felt that the reason he couldn't watch through that light curtain is related to his spiritual strength.
"With my current spiritual strength, I can only watch for a few minutes."
He made up his mind to watch this light curtain again when his spiritual strength has improved.
This is about his future journey into the star sea, he can't be sloppy!
This discovery has also re-ignited Fang Yun's desire for strength. He can't be as relaxed as before, he must improve his strength as soon as possible, and grow to the extent of interstellar as soon as possible.
With his current strength and abilities, he can't even confront the human civilization of this world, let alone that there are possibly many higher civilizations hidden in the universe.
Flicking his tongue and sensing the surrounding situation, Fang Yun gradually calmed down.
In this deep-sea adventure, he not only discovered an alien civilization but also determined his current body reaction to the deep sea and enormous pressure.
Although this place is 10km deep, he can still stay here for a long period of time, but he discovered one thing not mentioned by the system, Doing any strenuous activity under such a large pressure take much more energy than in shallow waters.
In simple language, fighting at this depth is much more exhausting than above.
Having determined that Fang Yun was preparing to leave, but he suddenly felt something is wrong.
At the same time, on his left, water was suddenly ripped apart and something quickly approached him.
"Bang!"
Without the slightest hesitation, he waved his tail at an extreme speed underwater, quickly bursting upward. A dark shadow shot past his previous location, colliding with the sphinx.
"boom!"
A loud sound appeared but was quickly muffled. Fang Yun stopped at 100 meters above the sphinx, then glanced down at the thing that attacked him.
He just happened to see the black shadow colliding with the sphinx.
However, the sphinx didn't budge, it was the black shadow that got hurt in that collision.
Fang Yun was also able to see the dark shadow's true appearance by this time.
This is a horrifying monster. A monster that is bigger than him
Fang Yun previously felt that there should be no large creature at such depth. After all, there is a huge pressure and a very small amount of prey at this depth. Large creatures can't survive here. But it looks like he is wrong, there is a huge creature right in front of him.
It's also possible that this monster is an exception.
This monster may have the ability to dive to such depths like him, but it may not have the ability to survive for a long time here.
It needs prey to live so it must travel to the middle and upper sea to hunt.
"Target locked, Lanternfish (variant species), Chordata, Actinopterygii, can provide 100,000 bio-energy points."
