Chapter 57: Entering the forest
🕑 Added 2019-09-13 22:07:55 +0000 UTC
Three days after leaving the city, Fang Yun finally decided to crawl to the shore.
The reason why he chose to leave the river is simply that he found a good place to settle in. A big forest, specifically a mountain forest.
Lusher than any mountain forest he saw in his journey.
And more importantly, this mountain forest is very large and is probably rarely visited by humans.
Such a jungle is not only very lush, the wildlife there is probably very rich, which is very suitable for Fang Yun's growth.
Fang Yun crawled between the trees, his body crushing the grass and bush on his path, creating a very noticeable noise.
He no longer needs to cautiously or sneakily crawl as before.
His seven meters long body makes him a top predator in any place in the world, plus with his various skills, few animals can pose a threat to him.
In the days after he left the reservoir, he managed to raise his bio-energy to 29,760 points. Only 260 more and he can evolve.
Fang Yun flicked his tongue, detecting the various smells around.
Now that he thinks about it, he didn't use this method of hunting for a long time. After all, in the past few months, all he ate was fish.
Although he has not used his tongue for a long time, this organ has not degraded. He can still sharply capture every smell in the area around him.
But he did not find prey that is suitable for him.
After slithering for three or four miles, he finally found a goat and successfully hunted it. Earning 350 bio-energy point.
His bio-energy has finally met the evolution threshold.
Fang Yun laid on the edge of a shrub, without bothering to cover himself, he chose to immediately evolve.
The usual burning sensation that comes with every evolution didn't have the slightest effect on him anymore, not even able to affect his movement.
Ten minutes later, he finished his evolution.
Fang Yun turned his head and looked at his body, examining it.
His body has become even thicker. He couldn't help but wonder what level of prey he can swallow now.
"System, bring up my properties panel."
Throwing these thoughts to the back of his head, Fang Yun said to the system.
Not long after, a light curtain appeared in his mind.
Host property list:
Level: 12
Bio-energy: 110/45000
Skill Points: 11
Body length: 9.0m
Diameter: 25cm
Power: 70
Defense: 40
Speed: 32
Agility: 35
Spirit: 37
Physical strength: 30
Skills: Fatal Venom (5/5), Fast Digestion (4/5), Skin Resistance (4/5), Discoloration Camouflage (3/5)
Fang Yun browsed the values on his properties panel one by one, his heart full of excitement.
After this evolution, his body length reached nine meters and his diameter surpassed 20 cm.
With his current size, if he is found by humans, then he would absolutely board the news;
With his current size, he can probably compete for the longest python in the world.
In his previous world, he knew that the longest python in history is an extinct monster, named Titanoboa, which was 14 meters long. In second place was the longest recorded python at 10.5 meters, but it's an absolute rarity.
It can be said that in term of length, pythons are first, followed by anacondas then other types of snakes.
With his power and size now, he can crush most animals in the world.
Tigers, lions, bears, etc.... Perhaps only a large pack of these animals can pose a threat to him now.
However, there is also a thing that makes Fang Yun feel depressed.
That is the required points for the next evolution, which is actually 45,000 points. If nothing special happens, it will take him quite a while to fulfill this goal, after all, there aren't any reservoirs around here like that of Wu Hai.
After clearing his mood, Fang Yun transferred his gaze to the skill points column.
His current skill points are 11. Fang Yun directly upgraded “Skin Resistance” and “Discoloration Camouflage”.
After maxing "Skin Resistance", his defense directly reached 70.
The scales on his body became very shiny and lustrous, looking very durable.
Fang Yun guessed that his scales probably now have an initial bulletproof ability. Of course, that would be only with small guns, and even then it would probably hurt a lot.
Even a slightly bigger gun can probably penetrate his defense, that's without mentioning shotguns and machine guns. If he wants to defend against these type of guns or even artillery, he would need a stronger type of defense skill.
Additionally, he also tested the effect of the "Discoloration Camouflage" after this upgrade, his camouflage ability has become even more perfect, he can almost perfectly blend with the environment now.
After getting familiar with his new abilities, Fang Yun crawled deeper into the forest. He is not planning to settle in the periphery, but the deepest part of the forest.
Even if there is prey in the periphery of the forest, they are not nearly enough to meet his requirements.
Fang Yun slithered at his fastest speed, Whether it's weeds, bushes or even rocks in his path, he directly crushed them, leaving a wide trail behind him.
He encountered a lot of animals along the way, but he didn't hide his body at all, scaring all of them to flee in terror at his sight.
After half a month of traveling, Fang Yun finally stopped. He is already in the deepest part of the forest.
At this moment, he is in a very virgin forest. Each of the trees around him is at least a bucket thick with green moss and vines on them.
According to the state of the environment, people probably rarely or even never came here.
The jungle is very quiet, occasionally the chirps of birds will sound, spreading across the forest.
Fang Yun raised his head and flicked his tongue, detecting the moisture in the air, he concluded that a water source is nearby.
As a python, he still prefers to stay in humid places;
Fang Yun crawled for about two to three miles before hearing the sound of running water. Delighted, he quickly crawled forward and not long after, a river appeared in front of him. Although it's only about 3 to 4 meters wide but he is still very satisfied.
In addition, next to the river is a swamp.
The moment Fang Yun saw this swamp, he immediately liked it.
He quickly crawled to the edge of the swamp, then climbed a big banyan tree next to it. He wanted to check the situation around the swamp first before going there, checking if there is any top predator here.
It would be better if one existed, he can treat it as a backup food;
Most of the top predators are huge in size and because they are at the top of the natural food chain, they provide more bio-energy than other animals.
Fang Yun climbed up the big banyan tree, then crawled to a branch. his weight caused the branch to make a squeaking noise as if it was going to snap.
However, in the end, it still held in.
He lifted his head and looked around.
From his point of view, only half of the swamp can be seen. After examining the area around, Fang Yun eyes lit up.
He found a large creature.
