WELL THIS WAS FRIGGEN TERRIFYING!!
Like good LORDDDD this was absolutely a crazy ride and kinda more gorey than I had anticipated (which I don't care much about anyway, it was just a surprise!) The special effects were SUPER well done for this, it really made things feel real in a way, and just the whole story was entertaining, interesting, and again... this was a really friggen insane ride.
Plenty of scares for me, so I think y'all will really enjoy this one. 🤣
HAVE FUN!

NOTE: You follow along with your own copy of the movie; I have a little timer right at the beginning where it counts down and shows the word "play" when I myself start playing the movie. I also have a timer synced throughout the movie so you're also in sync the whole time! If you don't have your own copy, then you'll have pretty much no idea what's happening!

In the comic sequel Childs was a Thing.
Anakin Starkiller
By the way very good guess on how many survived. I myself think Childs is the creature. I'm not going to say way the explanation would be to long.

The thing effects were created by master creature effects designer Rob Bottin. And when John Carpenter said I need a shape shifting creature Rob was confused as to how to pull it off, he didn't just want an Alien ripoff. He wanted something unique that's never been seen before and he worked day and night on the effects to the point where he got terribly ill. But the effects speaks for themselves and even after 40 years hold up incredibly well.
