Grate chapter! I am glad Meir sees the injustice being done to the Bissems by the SC. The Skalga overview and a peek in to the current affairs of the Williams family is also a pleasure to read! I am sad about Glim, but it is good to get some closure on him. Also happy to know Haisi is doing well! You can't save them all, but the fact that some cattle rescues thrived gives hope. The really concerning thing is the fact Meirs body has a dedicated FTL uplink to the lab, meaning his conciseness is running under constant real time debugging. We already knew Virnt could literally pick his brain any time he was in the lab, but knowing he can do so remotely from anywhere in the galaxy is even worse!

Wonderful chapter - I love seeing interactions like this.

It is a horrible fate, but all too common for PTSD victims saddled with guilt. When glim didn't look at Tarva or Noah when she lost the election and we didn't get any following updates, I was certain of his fate as unfortunate as it is.

Revisiting another of the themes from NOP1: Faith and fear. Harkening back to the days of yore, years was afraid of Humans, but choose to put her faith in them, and here we are. Now, we have Meier feeling fear of what is to come, but he has chosen to put his faith into outreach, and we see it is paying off, even if just in small ways. Who else will choose faith over fear?

Funny that the yulpa of all species has a fairly reasonable demand. "self-inflicted end of my friend, Glim" well, that's a bombshell to pass over. Sure he betrayed Tarva, but suicide is still a horrible fate. Anyways, loved this chapter. It makes me so happy seeing Meier enjoying his time with old friends and their children.

I’m sad to hear about Glim. I was hoping he might have a redemption arc in NOP2, or a side story. We didn’t get to see his fall; it was revealed to us through Tarva’s perspective. Even though he had his own POV, we only saw his rise, not his fall, unlike what happened with Slanek. It feels… unsatisfying. I’m not saying that’s bad; sometimes an unsatisfying end can be good for a story. In this case, seeing characters fail to get to a better place gives us more appreciation for the ones who succeeded. It’s just… a satisfying ending is good too. As for the Shield members contacting humanity, I’m interested in how it’ll play out. The Duerten, like always, are trying to play both sides, but even THEY must realize that what they’re asking for is impossible. At the very least, they would have to convince the Shield to meet up regulars with the SC so they could discuss how their incompatible laws should apply to the Duerten. As for the Leshee, once those members were accepted for asylum, they likely became citizens, so that’s a nonnegotiable demand. Maybe this’ll lead to an actual debate over Predator Disease, rather than overthrowing it with public outcry in the Predator Disease miniseries. Finally, the Yulpa. Honestly, I’m all for reparations, although not as much an apology (at least, the apology won’t be the type they likely expect, still condoning the government’s actions, but expressing remorse for the civilians that got caught in the crossfire), but the Yulpa should have to agree to never hunt another sapient for their sacrifices in return. It would leave their culture mostly untouched, but ensure that said culture is now more compatible with humans and other meat eating species (the omnivores, Bissem, and “Osirs”).
