One good redundancy is to keep all vital services such as water supplies on closed networks (better yet, cut them off completely from internet access) so if someone does want to hack it they’ll have to physically go there.

Triskit

"Cope and seethe" LOL

gilean23

Great Danes are very physically large, but far from demanding. My friend had one while living in a double-wide mobile home and said she took up less space than many much smaller dogs. She was good at staying out of the way. Really other than needing regular exercise like any dog, they’re a pretty low-maintenance breed from what I understand.

NoP1* Only a week until we get #2, and who knows who we'll see

Amanda Chowning

How it was phrased didn’t specify sapient coalition I believe? Just original 3 that helped humans in the battle? You could argue it’s heavily implied he’s just referring to the sapient coalition though, based on context of the sentence. And I’m aware the Yotul have good battle tech, but they didn’t during that specific battle so it’s a moot point. During that battle they were more humanitarian relief (search and rescue, rebuilding, etc.) Which is still better than almost every other race who either ignored the humans or committed genocide, but wasn’t technically helping *during* the battle, more post it. The Yotul definitely did us a solid and earned their place (and were our only friends/allies at the time besides the Venlil, Zuluians, and debatably the Arxur). But I just mean if you want to be very very very technical, they were more disaster relief, where the Arxur might have saved every remaining human on earth (those that didn’t evacuate).

Charming Cobra

Part of me is sad to know that these are the last few chapters for NoP, but at the same time I'm so happy to see these characters get their well deserved happy endings.

RaptorRed

I think it was the similar names. After a while I was just staring at the word yotul thinking something doesn't seem right, wth is a yotul, what is the other y alien name, then when I thought of yulpa it was like oh yeah yotul is the kangaroos. Pretty sure I read this chapter like 4 times already. I seem to be lacking motivation and concentration for something I want to do, makes me wonder does a part of me not want it to end so it's sabotaging my efforts. Inattentive ADHD sucks.

Enzo Leon

Awwwwww! I'm glad to see our Yotul get the best ending <3 Also omg NoP2 starting that soon!? Heck yeah

Tazeell

Ha well that was a bit of a twist at the end, thought that engineering job would be his calling. We should have totally gotten the surfing scene though.

pogman

How in the world did you manage that and what things did you end up thinking as a consequence?

pogman

Arxur are not in the Sapient coalition and The Yotul have got good battle tech

Jack

Yeah, it really is. In many ways the violence some of the characters showed towards him is worse. A bit psychotic honestly

BigSneppy

I did the same with Kolshians and Krakotl back during the battle of earth, it passes

BigSneppy

>someone from the 1960s >look inside >1960s opinions

Pay Me For NOTHING

It's probably the bigotry

Amanda Chowning

One EXTREMELY minor nit pick/typo by the way. (Forgot to mention this before, because I was in pure euphoria about how happy the dog scene made me.) “Being one of the original three to aid Earth, after Kalsim’s attack, meant that we were one of the most powerful nations in the Sapient Coalition.” I would edit this to say one of the original 4. Unless you’re specifying original 3 former federation species. The Arxur frankly did the most out of all four races. And while the Yotul are probably my favorite race in the series (the Arxur MIGHT be tied or a close second), even I can admit the Yotul were more post-battle humanitarian relief. I’d argue the Arxur, Zuluians, and Venlil were the core 3 DURING the battle itself. Albeit I would give all 4 credit in Onso’s sentence.

Dragonman461

Kinda off putting that people are so violent and hateful towards Hunter for no reason at all, like he's a monster for being a kidnapping victim put on ice for centuries.

Mr. Walker

One is pejorativly referred to as "primitive" because they like cho-cho trains, the other is encouraged to put on massive Mayan-temple-like bloody spectacles for their religious practices without anyone batting an eyelash.

Cera Treascair

Onso AND Tyler getting their happy ending, Slanek's hopefully getting help, Marcel's got his buddy, and Zeus is getting spoiled for the rest of his Good Boy days! oh, that's such PERFECTION!~

jetpacksuperman

I’m not gonna lie this is kinda cringey

Hell, he almost got employed at Yotul Lockheed Martin

PhycoKrusk

Hard to say who, since it would really depend on what the overarching conflict in NOP2 is. If it is a focus on factional tensions threatening to or spilling over into war, then Vysith seems like a strong possibility for a focus character, filling the "veteran" role that Sovlin did for NOP1. I'd pin Nulia as the "energetic novice" that was previous held by Slanek, except that she'll probably be almost 30 by NOP2 and not much of a novice at all. It seems almost irresponsible to assume that at least one of Tarva and Noah's children wouldn't be a focus character. Isif will 100% return in some capacity; he is too high-profile an actor on the galactic state not to. If Vysith and/or Nulia are focus characters, then 100% we'll see Sovlin and/or Marcel and Slanek. If either of the Williams kids are in, then we'll at least see Tarva; no idea how old Noah is in NOP1, but personally I'd gotten the sense he was in his 40s. What about it, friends? Who're your picks?

Lako

Thanks for the chapter!

Amanda Chowning

You have no idea how relieved I was that Zeus was sent over. That was a massive stressor off my chest. And the scene just about brought me to tears. It was also nicely foreshadowed with Onso saying he wanted a big dog like Zeus until he was able to get a Hensa someday. Also the reasoning for Tyler not keeping Zeus himself was brilliant- If they weirdly had Yotul adopting human pets but didn’t let humans on that same planet it would have rubbed me the wrong way (not making logical sense and kinda portraying the Yotul as jerks). Plus we know the humans are caretaking them at least until they’re adopted by Yotul. But not being able to keep a Great Dane on a military base makes PERFECT sense- either due to military rules or just feasibility sake (being a very large demanding pet). Side note, I assume Tyler is going to take a relatively easy military job post-war on Leirn, maybe shuffling paperwork or dealing with human recruits. And I love that Onso got the dream job after all. Wonderful chapter, A++++, chief’s kiss.

Space Paladin

Onso has been one of my favorites for a while!

Space Paladin

Always my pleasure!

RaptorRed

What do you do when you realize all the sudden your confusing yotul and yulpa?

OctupleThreat

I think we had his last POV chapter, but I think it would be remiss to NOT have some extra details of how the Arxur Collective is faring to filter in through the last 2 chapters

XavHD

Mom's gotta retire too

EliasArt2Life

Good to see Onso get the resolution to his story that he deserves. He was never a soldier, not really; he was a victim of the Federation fighting to reclaim what was taken from him. He’s been through more than his fair share already, and getting to see him finally reclaim the life he’s wanted for years is heartwarming! Something has occurred to me; with so many of the characters getting these satisfying resolutions in NOP1, that means we’re likely not going to see them, outside of cameos, in NOP2. I mean, I can’t imagine it feeling good to take Onso away from this happy ending. The same goes for Sovlin, finally finding a new family and learning to accept humanity and his own past. The list goes on. I imagine that this means we are going to get a new roster of characters in NOP2, with some returning characters, and occasional cameos from NOP1. If that’s the case, I can’t wait to meet the new characters!

RS

A groovy ending for a totally rad yotul!

Byron Ritchie

Our favourite capybara/kangaroo man gets the send off he deserves

Jacob Garcia

I thought he already had his last chapter, or am I just misremembering?

Paperclip

"One job isn't enough in this economy! I must dual-wield!" -Onso, probably

Alekss Žukovskis

A perfect ending

Adam Myers

I wonder if he would be crazy enough to take both jobs.

Paperclip

Ok yeah we need a follow up with everyone. I thought Onso was getting a hensa or a cat but Zeus is good too. Also, seeing Slanek so damaged and confused hurts my very soul. Hopes to some sort of recovery for the Salt Monster.

Namel909

Another day sss another mostly happy ending, next thing they start handing out candy to everyone sss I am a bit skeptic so i am waiting for the other shoe to drop. sss How can you perpetualy market something that has ended ? Corperate greed musst set in soon enough sss Anyway what will be the next big saga to happen ? Maybe "Help my Antfarm tries to marry me of to my rodent problem!" sss

PhycoKrusk

And now, Tyler must fulfill his destiny, and introduce Onso to surf rock.

richfiles

This was the perfect ending for the two best friends! I'm also glad to see Slanek and Marcel together again, but man, it hits hard seeing the ol' Salt Monster so... Broken... I hope Tyler and Onso send plenty of care packages with plenty of chips to ol' Salty. ;_; That said... Can't wait for Onso to be tackled by Zeus and a pack of cuddly hensa! :D

Piittis

Heh, good to see that Zeus was brought along like the comments on the previous chapter were hoping. Nice to have a very happy ending for Onso and Tyler.

Yotul Technocracy when their planet was the only one unscathed from HF Cyber terrorist attacks: Cope and Seethe

TheBlack2007

'"What do you humans say? Cope and seethe?"' Okay, who he hell introduced this guy to r/NonCredibleDefense? I mean he'd fit right in, but still!

paintmelikeyoudoyoursheilas

What a nice ending for onso and Tyler. Glad the death flag was a false positive. Looking forward to seeing Chief issif’s send off being the utter chad he is and low key savior of the galaxy.

T___

I just love Onso!

ColdBlooded Network

This is what Onso deserved. Thank you for the chapter.

Youre a swedekisser arent you

'"What do you humans say? Cope and seethe?"' Someone take Onso's holopad privileges away, he's spending too much time on tik tok.

Jack

what a lovely send off for him

Yonael Blackwood
