“Uh, sorry for causing you trouble,” I scratched my head, trying to smooth things over. “But, I just kissed your earlobe. Is it really worth getting that angry over?”

“Don’t look at me like that,” I muttered, feeling a bit awkward. I glanced away. “I think we’re done for today. That signal flare from your headquarters means we won this battle, right?”
Pakura frowned and glanced to the side. Sure enough, a green signal flare was lighting up the sky, the sign for “retreat.”
As much as she hated it, as much as her humiliation burned inside her, Pakura was a ninja bound by duty. Orders from her superiors were absolute. Grinding her teeth in frustration, she snarled, “Don’t get cocky! I’ll repay today’s humiliation a hundredfold!” And with that, she turned and swiftly retreated.

“I see…” Tsunade sighed. “Have the critically injured and the bodies of our fallen comrades been sent back to Konoha?”
“Yes, Lady Tsunade. Everything’s been taken care of.”
“Good. You may go now.”
After Nara Shikaku left, I stepped into the tent. “Tsunade-sensei! I’m back! I’m so sorry—I went to the bathroom and got lost. By the time I came out, you guys had already finished the battle…”
