i done miffed it
🕑 Added 2018-04-26 00:34:20 +0000 UTC alright so this video's sort of a mess (just like me right now lol), but basically I've been told that releasing songs early on Patreon could hurt my chances of finding industry interest because (even though they'd only be release for you all!!) that would mean three of the songs of my record would technically count as *released*, and basically industry people want never before heard stuff. ANYWAY super bummed that I shouldn't put them out yet, and also super bummed that I said I'd do a thing and now i won't be doing quite that thing, that was totally on me, I should have checked with everyone first it honestly didn't even occur to me that it would be an issue?I've been given the enthusiasm thumbs up, that as a substitution for *releasing* the three songs early, I can instead do three live-stream Listening Parties! One in May, one in June, one in July, playing one new song in the stream for each show! Naturally, please don't record these, it's a way to share with you, the people making this launch the biggest success it can be, but super important the songs don't get leaked! I thought i might do two live streams for each song, one morning my time and one evening to give everyone the best chances of hearing (who are in different timezones!)
Let me know what you think of this! Wanted to give everyone the heads up too just incase that was the only reason you pledged (you can still cancel your pledge before May 1st and you won't be charged (I'm pretty sure, I should really stop saying things before I check with people)).

it's public now!
This, I know Tessa is busy but so am I. I donβt think it was her being intentionally deceptive to keep her video promising free music up on YouTube while at the same time she needs to take anything down saying she is still doing it.

I feel like this video should be available to non-patreons so that they know before donating.
Be careful with "real industry people". Don't sign a contract for too long and have a lawyer review it!
Don't you think keeping your word to your fans is more important than trying to impress some industry suit? Don't you have something you made since your last album that aren't even going to be on this current album?
Hello. Is it possible for you to extend the $60 level? I really wanted to get in on that one. βΉοΈπ
This sounds fun!!! It would be really neat too to hear you maybe talk a bit about the process behind the songs... Unless you wanna save that for post-release hype!!! Whatever you do I'm behind 100%!

Yeah listening parties sound great! Thanks for having two in different times of day cause I'm 7-10 hours ahead of the US π
it's okay girl <3 supporting you no matter what!

Going forward, please keep your patrons as part of your release strategy. I understand the need to keep the music commercially viable, but your patrons get some perks. The livestream idea is a solid choice. If possible, have each one at distinctly different times in the day to accommodate timezone differences.
No problem at all Tessa! I'm just super happy to support you and your exciting musical endeavors! Looking forward to the live-streams and like others have said thank you for thinking of those of us in different time zones :)
Absolutely no problems Tessa! I'm excited to support you on here for the new record (and also the Halloway B-sides were a great bonus), I don't really care about getting the songs early tbh, just about getting them when the record comes out! But the livestream idea is great π Thank you especially for wanting to make 2 for time zones, I live in Europe and missed your last 2 Twitches so I'm glad that we'll also have the chance to see the streams π This is gonna sound weird but maybe you should play the songs with a minimum background noise in the streams so that the songs can't be leaked.
