Multiple Speedrun Explained Updates and Shifting Around of Schedule!
🕑 Added 2023-01-30 21:47:44 +0000 UTCHey all! Lots to update on in this post, including announcing a new video, which will actually be the next video released. I'll get straight into it!
So the All Bosses Control script had been coming along nicely, and was on track for a February release. That was until a new piece of movement tech was found in the game that's going to be greatly affecting the run! I've talked with the runner for the video and we've decided to put a pause to production on the video until the run is ironed out with the new tech, that way the video can include it and be an accurate representation of the current state of the game as a speedrun, and be an accurate representation of top level play when it's released. Releasing a video now would make the video obsolete shortly after release, which none of us want. So, Control has moved to the backburner with the promise of continuing development once things are figured out with the new tech. This might take anywhere from just a couple weeks, to a month or two, so instead of a February release for this video, we're instead looking at somewhere between March-May. (Speedrun Explained 49: Update 4)
The second video in production right now that I've talked about before is Hollow Knight Any% (No Major Glitches). The runner has the run for the video recorded, and we're in the process of scheduling our call to go over the run, but things are moving forward as planned. As for when it releases, if Control is ready to continue production for release in March, then Hollow Knight will release in April. If Control won't be ready for a March release, then plan on seeing Hollow Knight released in March. (Speedrun Explained 50: Update 2)
This brings us to February. I'm contractually obligated with the sponsor for the February video to release a video in February, and it's too short a turnaround to make a video covering a run that I'm not familiar with already myself. So that means that for the month of February, I'm going to be making and releasing a new modded Fallout speedrun, akin to the Speedrun to eat a baby and Speedrun to get pregnant. This video will likely be done in the next few weeks, and right now I've been compiling the mods that will be installed and testing to try and figure out exactly what the speedrun will entail and that things work. So yeah, be on the lookout for that! I'll be providing updates on it as it comes along. The current hint for what the main topic of the speedrun is, is that the title will again include the word "baby". (Speedrun Explained 51: Update 1)
In addition to these three videos in production, we also have the Any% run of Super Mario Odyssey, which is still quite a ways off, but will be next on the docket after these three are wrapped. We also just recently hit 375 Patrons, which WOW thank you all, that happened so quickly! For it, I'll be putting up a new poll to pick the next Speedrun Explained after SMO, where the options are all speedruns that I have chosen for inclusion. Also Fan-Fiction Friday likely releasing this Friday. That's all though, hope you all are having a great start to your week :)

The Control video wasn't mostly done, it had just been coming along pretty smoothly and on track for a February release. There were still around three to four weeks of work to be done on it before it would be done, and the script was just around 1/3 of the way done. I plan to talk about how the new tech affected the route and video, but certainly won't be the focus of the video. Mostly just to provide a bit of extra context to the viewer.

Hi there, How are you? Thanks for the update. Now i've got you, also thanks for answering my question during your last session. Good to know you're doing better now. About the video about control. Since you have most of it done by now, would you consider leaving in what the old part was and how the newly found route changes that please. Only if applicable. It would be cool to see where they managed to shave some time off. Also i just like your video's and i happen to have beaten control so i am really looking forward to it. Thanks again Stay safe
