"Patron's Choice" SPEEDRUN EXPLAINED Suggestion Thread
🕑 Added 2021-08-11 14:02:58 +0000 UTCHey all! The time is finally here for you all to suggest speedruns that will be covered in a future video! Right now the timeline is looking like this: next video is Dishonored 2 Any% (Emily), then likely a video after that of my choosing, and then the one after that will be the one you all decide through this event (since the deciding process for this will last about two weeks and I'll need to be getting started on my next next video before then).
A couple notes/rules:
1. The list is starting as empty. Any runs that were a part of the last poll where I filled out the list will not be a part of the poll by default. The only runs that will be on the poll will be of your choosing. I will be doing more polls where I choose the runs on it in the future where I re-use that list that was already existing, so only suggest a run that's on the previous list if you REALLY want it to be covered. Otherwise it'll be in another poll in the near future where I make the list.
2. Any runs suggested must be on speedrun.com and have its own leaderboard/category.
3. The run can be no longer than one hour in length.
4. Everyone gets TWO suggestions!
5. You cannot submit a run for a game that has been previously covered on the channel.
That's it! I'll let suggestions roll in for one week after this post going live, then I'll make the poll with all the options and let that run for one week as well before closing the poll and beginning to make the video! Looking forward to see what you all suggest!

I would love to see Control any% standard and Ghostrunner any% inbounds

I’ll rec any full game run of hitman 2016 or the sequel hitman 2. It could be the fiber wire sa/so (silent assassin suit only) run or an accidents allowed run…all require strictly choreographed pathing and timing, and doing a speedrun in these games requires a ton of AI manipulation that I’ve always found interesting

Half life 2 any%! No ones really covered it well

1) Hollow Knight - No Major Glitches - Low% or True Ending Low% is around 45 min True Ending is just over 1 hour (about 1 hour 7 min) Can't think of another one so I'll say any of the any% Darksiders (except 3 which is like 3min in some cases so if you do 3, choose the 100% since it's around 1 hour) I literally know nothing about the speedruns for the Darksiders series. I was just looking for random speedruns that are around 1 hour long.

- Terraria, All Bosses, Random Seed - Subnautica, Any %

I'm gonna submit Undertale (1.02+) and A Hat in Time (any category)

Hollow knight would be crazy, I think any% is like 40 minutes or something with no major glitches. And another really cool run would be Mario odyssey any%, also just barely under an hour

I'm a dumdum haha I saw the post earlier and thought it was a teaser or something. Thanks for the heads up. I think my next choice would be San Andreas but the Any% is not enjoyable and next shortest category is like 3 hours and 45 minutes. So I'll suggest the next best thing: GTA: Vice City Any% No SSU
Trevor Ullrich
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus 2002 Any% Devil May Cry 2001 Any%

The speedrun explained that is coming out next (out for patrons now) is a Skyrim Any% run, so I wouldn’t include the Skyrim suggestion in the poll. Have any other suggestions for your second one?

I had a few games on my list: DreadOut Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs Hades Hollow knight Celeste Now since i dont know how well the later 3 will do for a speedrun explained video, let's stick with the first 2 (i can only submit 2 anyway). I also like the idea of a horror game, one of my favorite genres. I also really like the other suggestion of Resident Evil 2: Remake.

I have this problem that the games I want to watch you commentate are not good speedrunning games. But I'll suggest them anyway. - Diablo 2 - Any% 1P Softcore Sorceress or Any% XP Softcore Soceress, they are more or less the same runs but included them both in case you can't contact the runner. - Skyrim - All Main Quests No Horse Tilts, because the Any% is too short.
Funkington Beardo
I was worried if it's not ok because this is not a suggestion comment. If you want, you can add the list to the post and I can delete the comment.

Ah this is a good comment, I should have included this info in the post! In the future I’ll for sure include a link to the speedrun explained playlist in future posts like this so people can easily know what has been covered before.

love that you're doing this! let me get these out before i forget: -Rec 1: Hotline Miami any%, only about a 15 min run but seems super interesting tech-wise -Rec 2: on the longer end, Resident Evil 2: Remake, specifically the Leon A category since i feel like that's the one people are most familiar with. the top runs are around 51-55 minutes and its kinda goofy looking, which is fun. the claire category is also in the same time frame but a little shorter (48-51 mins) if you'd prefer that

Been really getting into Ghostrunner recently and my full run took along 8 hours, would really love to see how they do it in 30 minutes in the any% inbounds or CAKE%!
